Well I appreciate the info and will look into it further. Yes TH is important to me and just trying to make a comparison, so if any others can comment on the TH comparison of this compared to a regular coil and cotton, thanksWelcome, @vapdivrr! Wow, so you've been around the block a few times and have much more experience with ceramic wicks that I do. I've run a few genny tanks in the past, but never with ceramics, so I can't really give you a comparison. I can say that the cCells give a very clean flavor... better than any cotton I've ever tried, and a bit better than rayon (which was my "high-bar standard").
As far as TH goes, I don't really have a good answer for that either. I'm at 5-6mg nic and get very little TH from any of my set-ups. Even RDAs at 75+ watts...
Hahaha! Hiya Blue! Still using the tank/mod, but no... I've gone through quite a few coils now. They're lasting me a bit longer now because I'm only going through about a tank a day now. I got a new mod that's been getting a LOT of attention lately... my first SQUONKER!![]()
Good to know...........Mine is still in the other room and I am still on the first coil.....about 60 mls through it so far & working on starting the 3rd bottle today...Hahaha! Hiya Blue! How have u been. Its been a long time from our genny days for sure. I just got the gemini sub ohm tank today. Running the 40-65w ss coil. I can get to 37w then all i get are burnt hits. Very mad i feel like money in the trash. Maybe i got a bad coil? I would hope so anyway. Primed coil let it sit. Just ...... right about now. Ha might be time to bust out the old genny and get back old school.Well I appreciate the info and will look into it further. Hey! I took one look at your avatar and it all came back to me... I'm doing well my friend! I haven't really been doing the genny mesh or ceramic thing for a long while and recently looked into this new type coil. I just looking for a little more info before possibly making a purchase. you may be the link for this info, so I hope it works out for you. Like you, was wondering if these could handle higher wattages, maybe around 25 , but it's the TH I'm wondering about? I vape higher end rta's with standard coils with rayon in the 25 watt range and what I really like besides pretty good flavor is the thump. A few months ago I did an old genny and ceramic set up and the flavor was outstanding as ever but I forgot how mello the TH was. Now if I could of jacked up the wattage on that genny to 30 watts it might of been there, but it just doesn't wick that good at 30 watts. How have u been. Not so sure this is the tank for th. Its funny though my coils are gold with this tank. They are .5 and .8 ohm ss. But from all the reviews i have seen they should be silver. Think i will wait till more are in the usa and try once more. But the 30s it worked before it was burnt hit city there was no th at all. Still new coils with lots of new ones coming out all the time so if u find one u like let me know for sure n i will do the same.Hey! I took one look at your avatar and it all came back to me... It does sound like a bad coil, but I even had a little trouble with the last Kanthal cCell I installed. I had to let it sit overnight before it started to perform properly but I've been using it for over 2 weeks now and it's been great. I'm not sure why it took so long to prime. It makes me wonder if Vaporesso changed the recipe or something. That's too bad. I am really looking forward to trying the Gemini. I am okay with using kanthal coils in it but it sure would be nice to have options! How have u been. Its been a long time from our genny days for sure. I just got the gemini sub ohm tank today. Congrats Kaz, I'm a certified squonker myself but still use my target tank daily ... and still on the original coil too!
What did you get?

I am glad you like the squonker.....I have been contemplating it for awhile now....but not quite ready.....
Hey everyone! I just got another ceramic tech tank today, the US Simba. The coilf for this one is a lot different than the cCell, but man o man. I really am sold on ceramic coil tech. I LOVE this tank! It's extremely customizeable. It will be great for MTL and it is amaaazing for lung hits when opened all the way up! I didn't have to wait at all for the coil to be ready to vape. The one I am using is SS and this is the very first time EVER I have had zero problems with TC. I should be getting the Gemini next week and I can't wait to try a cCell in a top fill tank, but I will definitely be getting more of these coils for the Simba. My dream of all top fill, all ceramic coils may actually be coming truuuue!![]()
You know, I hadn't even thought to try it on the Target until you mentioned it! It doesn't work, though. It tells me "Not a Ni coil," loll It does work in VW mode on the Target, but I have it up at 40 watts to get the same vape I get at 350 degrees in SS mode on the iStick 100w TC. I am dying to try the SS cCell, though! Thanks man! I'd never tried squonking before, but I do run a lot of RDAs on tube mechs. I used to think that squonkers were just lazy drippers... now I know that I was an idiot!
I was very blessed and a very kind and wonderful friend gifted me with a SX-Tmod. It's a Tmod squonker with a single 18650 and an SX350J board. It is amazing and I absolutely love it! This beautiful soul also included a BF modified Stumpy from Chowderhead. It's my first squonker ever and I've been completely spoiled by it.
I hope you can figure out whether or not they'll work for you. I'm afraid that it's probably going to be a little too smooth to get a decent TH, but I don't know for sure. I can try mixing up a small batch of higher nic juice and see if the TH is any stronger. I'm already running it at 30W, and turning it up much past that just brings the burnt hits... let me know if you'd like for me to try stronger nic and report back.
I still need to try cleaning a coil... I bought some pipe cleaners. You remember, the old stiff ones with the scratchy bristles that people actually use to clean pipes? Not the ones that you can get at Michael's for crafting... I've been soaking my used coils in PGA and the plan is to brush them out afterwards with the pipe cleaners. I've just been too lazy to actually try it...
As for the squonker, it's great! If you're at all comfortable with RDAs, then I highly suggest trying one. It's absolutely worth it!
Sounds like another very awesome tank, CA! Question: Do the SS coils work in TC on the Target mod? I've used Ti coils on it, but don't have any SS coils to try. Just curious as to whether or not the Target will see the SS as non-TC wire...

Kaezziel, I appreciate the offer of trying with higher nic, thank you but I'm not so sure I will get a good comparison. What you may think is a good TH and what I may think can vary quite a bit. I just need to find someone who vapes rta's (not sub tanks) and uses 18 to 24 nic levels in the 25 watt range and who also is vaping this. Thanks my friend

Well it seems like you have or vaped what I'm vaping now so maybe you could make a comparison. I also vape rayon and I would imagine if you used your orchid with maybe a 1 ohm build or slightly lower with 24mg nic and compared that to the ceramic coil, then it would definitely help me make a decision. Thank youNo problem. When I first started vaping, I was using 36mg nic... I do have a few RTAs (Orchid and Silver Play V2). Also have quite a few RDAs that I rotate through as well. As for wattage, I usually run anywhere between 25-50W, and I only use rayon for wicks in all of my rebuildables.
You're absolutely right that TH can be pretty subjective, but I just wanted to let you know what I'm used to for comparative purposes. In my earlier days of vaping (started around 7 years ago), I absolutely needed the TH to quit the stinky sticks. Nowadays, I prefer a smoother hit.
Just let me know if there's anything else that I can do to help you out... I don't mind a little playing around and experimenting for the sake of science.![]()

AwesomeSounds good, man. I'll break out the old Orchid and throw a coil in it with a little rayon. 24mg nic won't be a problem either, I need to mix up a batch for a buddy here at work anyway. I'll give it a shot tonight and let ya know tomorrow how it compares. I can't remember... what is your normal pg/vg ratio? (Nevermind... went back and saw 50/50 to 30/70... I'll throw somethin' together.)
Yeah I am super curious about the SS cCells! Hopefully we both get our grubby lil paws on some soon!So Ti will work in TC mode, but SS is VW only. Good to know and thanks for checking! I guess it's really no big deal 'cause I'm used to running the kanthal cCells in VW mode anyway. So whenever I can get my grubby l'il paws on some SS cCells I'll be perfectly content with running them in VW mode.![]()
