Welcome to ECF. The DIY forum is a great resource, tons of helpful folks and information. No, you can never have too many bottles. LOL. And, as I mix, I find myself wanting bigger bottles.... DIY is a great thing to do, but it does have some startup costs, although they very quickly start paying for themselves. Welcome and glad you joined :)

Idk if you’ve found a great calculator yet but I found this one on here and it looks quite exceptional in my opinion!..
Juice Calculator

Thanks that’s definitely a good one. I use the calculator on the website where I keep all my recipes. ELRs.

Who doesn’t like efficiency! I’ve got my scales picked out to order and working on bottles, pipettes and flavors. I’m getting excited about DIYing!
Welcome and glad you joined.
Best advice I can give is to obtain recipes you may like to try first, and buy only those flavors listed in the recipes. It's never a good idea to buy a flavor because it sounds good. If you must, find a recipe that uses that flavor.

Thanks so much for this advice! It’s like you read my mind, lol! I was wondering just this morning if I should buy one of those $130 52 flavor bundles or something to get started. I noticed I wouldn’t even think of using 6 of them. Now I know. Although, I’m torn when it comes to the sizes I should get. I think I should get the small bottles to try first but then think maybe I should get 30ml so I don’t run out so fast. Also, are flavor shots stronger than concentrates? Thanks in advance!:rickroll:

I know I need to start with smaller bottles initially to be sure its good enough for a larger batch but I feel like I’ll mostly be mixing between 50 & 120 mls as I’m used to purchasing 120 ml and use around 50 a day. I’m planning on having my order ready by next Friday. So all this advice is great! Thanks:D

Hi and welcome. FWIW, I mix by volume and have no trouble. Of course, I use lab glass, which is more expensive than just buying a scale once. Now I'm looking for a good deal on a 2000ml borosilicate cylindrical graduate... :)
Happy to hear it’s working for you!

Wizard Labs has 8 ml. vials for $1.50-.80 or so. I would stay away from 30 ml. to begin with, 8 ml. is plenty to start you off, esp if you only mix 5-10 ml recipes to taste/experiment. I doubt you will find any single flavor recipe/mix that you will like over multi mix's. The whole idea is to buy flavors you are going to reorder and like. Multiple 30 ml. of a bad tasting flavor can hurt the budget.

Thanks so much! I have everything ready to order except flavors due to questioning myself on which route to go. So this is very helpful! Lots of great resources also!
