Just an update on the mod Sleeve on my satin black Provari. I have absolutely NO issues with it sticking AT ALL!!! As a matter of fact, it's pretty easy to get in and out of the sleeve. If ANYONE is thinking of getting one for their satin black provari and is worried it's going to be tricky to get it in and out, it really isn't. This sleeve is GREAT and protects the Provari very nicely and the craftsmanship is flawless! The button hole cutout is perfect, as well as, the hole for the LED display. I might just have to get another one in a different color now!!!! Tim, you may want to take that line out on the site. Don't want you to miss out on potential sales due to people being scared their Provari is going to get stuck.

Thanks for the info jtieri!

From the feedback I've gotten most recently, it sounds like the satin finish does not actually make it any more difficult to put the sleeve on or take off.

I have gotten one report of a "mark" left on a satin silver ProVari though, presumably from rubbing against the colored part of the leather. I no longer apply color to the insides of the sleeves, but there is usually a little bit around the openings and some residually coloring on the inside, so I'm going to continue to advise against using the sleeves with satin finish devices.

I would much rather lose sales than have someone upset because their PV got discolored.

How about one for a Lava tube. Open top style? I just ordered a chrome one. I don't have to carry a spare bottle but a batt holder would be cool. Yeah.. that's the ticket..

I do own a Lavatube so I can definitely make an open top holster for it if you want one; just select "Other" for the mod style and include a note in the comments field, when you check out, to indicate that you want it to fit the Lavatube.

Just be aware that the device will fit in the holster very loosely since the plastic cover on bottom cap is a good bit wider than the body of the device. It's also pretty likely that the plastic cover will pop off eventually, while removing the Lavatube from the holster, and you'll have to glue it back on.

That isn't quite as much of an issue with the flip-top holsters because I can make them fit a little more loosely since the flap helps to keep the Lavatube in place. (Though the plastic cap cover will still probably pop off, eventually.)

I should also be able to make a sleeve for the Lavatube, though it wouldn't cover the the bottom cap; you would have to take the cap off, slide the sleeve on, and then replace the cap. I haven't put these on the site because I can't imagine why anyone would spend $25+ to cover a $40 device that's basically disposable.

I do not have a lavatube, and do not plan to get one, so perhaps my opinion on it is pointless--but it does seem to me that the "disposable" nature of the lavatube does nothing to diminish appreciation for your craftsmanship. Perhaps it become more a thing of wanting one of your sleeves that they can fill it with a lavatube. And when the lavatube weras out and needs to be replaced, the next one will still go in your sleeve...

Hello Griffin,

Can you make a larnyard like this one for my ProVari Mini?
http://www.serenitygear.com/images/specials/sp-feb12-m.jpg

Sorry, I don't make the Tiki lanyards to order because they're just too time consuming to do. (And kind of hit or miss, since I just starting to get back into leather tooling, after a 15 year break.)

The next time there is a lull in orders I do plan to make up some more tooled designs to add to the specials page and I definitely want to make some more tikis. I'll post pictures here when I have a few made up.

Hi Griffin,
I'm Pascal from France, I asked you by mail for a holster for a bogger box and for a Saber Touch that I'm waiting for.
I think it's better to speak here.
Concerning the bogger box mod, will you be able to make holters in the near future?
Concerning the Saber Touch, thank you for the photo, it looks great with the lanyard, the positive point is that it can be used without been taking off and it seems to be very tight so it can't fall down but it must be hard to put the Saber in and out the holster, due to the bottom cap witch is outside down the holster , isn't it?
I will ask a few more questions about the different styles but let's proceed step by step:)

I probably won't have time to get to it in the near future, sorry.

It's actually pretty easy to put on; just remove the bottom cap from the ST, slide the lanyard on, and replace the cap. The fit isn't as tight as it might appear in the photo - I generally make lanyards fit more loosely than I would a sleeve.

OK, My ST will come with new rounded caps, no matter with it?
Does the top cap stays on the edges of the holster?
If it does, is there a risk to damage the leather with the weight of the mod?

The rounded cap shouldn't make any difference and the top cap does indeed rest on the upper edge of the lanyard. With normal use, I don't imagine that the wear on the leather would be significant.

Hi Folks! I have a few updates and additions to SerenityGear.com to let you know about:

-Nine new stamp options have been added; Indian Chief, Buffalo Head, Steer Head, Paw Print, Bass, Sun Face, Moon Face, Rose, and Lily. More new stamp options will be coming in the next week or two. (More skulls and, perhaps, some more Celtic knots.)

-New color options have been added and I've replaced the old color samples in the gallery with one that better represents the colors I'm now offering. I recently changed my dyeing technique and am getting much better results with vibrant colors now, so I'll be looking into adding a few more colors soon.

-Conchos have been added to the customization options on the home page for easier ordering. I've put the photos for the conchos and the color choice right on the home page in the customization section too.

-Lavatube flip-top holsters and sleeves are now available. The Lavatube sleeve slips on from the top, or you can remove the bottom cap to slide it on from the bottom. It does include a cutout so that you can use the adjustment buttons and view the LED display.

-Shipping options are now available when checking out, including priority mail and international shipping. International customers should now be able to order without having to write for a shipping quote/invoice first.

-Most of the items on the Specials page have been marked down a bit more. New items will be going up within the next week or so, including lots of colorful ProVari sleeves.

The ProVari Mini is my next project and I will be working on sleeves and holsters for it, as time permits. If someone who owns both a regular ProVari and a ProVari Mini could let me know if the position of the LED display and button is the same distance from the top on both models, that would be very helpful!

Have a great weekend everybody!

Griff
