Guys I made it through the very first week. Made it through with zero analogs which makes me very proud. I know in the future there mayy be unforeseen circumstances that may make me crave an analog sometimes but I'm going to focus on staying super strong. Just thought I'd give you guys a little update on how I'm doing and yeah.. I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER :)

Congrats! Getting the first week under your belt is wonderful! For me there were still some hard cravings after that first week but they are less frequent and of a shorter duration. From here it only gets easier :D Just vape away any cravings (a bottle of higher nic or WTA worked great for these moments - ymmv) and many hopes that you continue smooth sailing :)

It's truly awesome! :thumb:

When you get to around 3 wks smoke-free, remember this euphoria -- when some of the *other* chemicals from the cigarettes leave you after 3 wks, it's easy to feel depressed, sad, sorry for yourself... I think it's those MAOIs they put in cigarette tobacco. But that phase doesn't last long, maybe a week-ish... just power thru, maybe increase the nic level just a bit, maybe even that WTA stuff. That 3 wk mark was the only time I've thought that maybe I needed the WTA... but before I had the money to buy any, the negative feelings seemed to just drift away, so I didn't bother with WTA.

Congrats!

Now that you know how well this works you don't have to be afraid of cigarettes any more. A lot of people have "quit smoking experiments" when they start vaping - a craving may get to you, you just might be curious... Having a cigarette isn't a total failure. This isn't the American Cancer Society quit smoking program.

If you are like the majority smoking goes gross on you real fast when you start vaping, for most people within the first week. If you do end up "failing", try a smoke, and it tastes like licking an ash tray and makes you cringe - congratulations. You have just found out that the thrill is gone and you have very little to be concerned with about relapsing. Smoking is now it's own worst negative reinforcement. Don't know why that happens, but it does - a lot.

Or you could be one of the people who still find they like something about smoking. Better to find that out early on so you know what you are up against, and know what you have to do if you want to stay quit. You can determine if you still like smoking, but not be afraid of it either.

E-cigs are a wonderful way to deal with overcoming any cravings or temptation to smoke. Once you figure out what your base line is - smoking now actually makes you cringe, or you still like it - it eliminates the fear and makes the journey a lot easier to deal with. No fear this time.

Keep on keeping on, but realize you don't get beat up here if a smoke slips into your journey this early on. That OH MY GOD IT'S DISGUSTING! experience is actually quit wonderful when it happens. :)

Congratulations on your first week, PaPuffer! And best of fortunes on many more. :)

Congrats man! Keep it up, it will get easier. As was said, get a back up if you don't have one. My primary broke the day after I bought a back up. Just bought a cheap eGo but sure glad I did.
Man... For having to endure something breaking, I'd at least call that perfect timing! :thumb:

I've got 2 vv3's, an eGo-C Twist, and the Sigelei... just because these #$%&$ things are so contrary! (and those are over and above the eRolls I started with!) Likewise the huge number of tanks I seem to be accumulating... and coils, argh. Starting to learn to build my own, and I really thought I had it down pat, but two I tried so far today didn't taste very good. Gotta be something more to learn about building coils.
