Nope- not at all now... But the first few weeks I did! My husband is still having trouble and cracks a few times a day and once in a blue moon when he brings an analogue around me I might crack... I always hate it though - the taste, the smell, the feeling in my chest after.. Not sure why I give in , but as time goes by it gets easier and easier. There was even one night I was having a few beers with the hubby (the absolute HARDEST time for me to control myself!) and I actually went a few hours just vaping away while he was smoking analogues right in front of me without me freaking out- I was soooooo proud that night! I'm just starting to learn not to actually be mad at myself when I actually do crack and appreciating the fact I've made it this far- besides it really does get easier in time so I figure eventually I'll be completely fine!

I'm not really a heavy smoker. A pack will last me from two to four days, depending on how stressed I am. I can sit and smoke on my e-pipe all day, and it doesn't really make me stop wanting to smoke, it just makes me not want to smoke as much. But yes, I do still smoke. My e-cig gets used when I can't go to my room for five minutes for some reason (long gaming sessions, movies, tv, etc.) or when I'm out in the real world and can't go outside (long car rides, mostly). I did originally plan on quitting, but when I tried the e-cig, it just didn't do it for me. I ended up putting it aside for the rare occasions where I couldn't smoke. I guess if I smoked heavily it might be different, but since I only go through five to ten a day (and that has to be a really bad day). I don't see my smoking as a big enough problem to quit. I figure that if I've kept it down to less than half a pack a day for over four years, I can keep it that way forever. If it starts going out of control, I'll quit. Until then, though, e-cigs will be a minimal part of my life, used to put off smoking for a while, not to quit.

So, to answer your question, it will definitely not do the trick first thing in the morning, or for that matter after food, or after sex. It just won't.

I've been at this off and on (mostly off due to my father's extended illness and final peaceful passing) since October of '08. I'm back on e-cigs (mostly) now with the help of a really good device (the tornado/ego) and little will power.

I still can't kick the morning analog though. Don't mean to be gross here, but I'm sure some you "vets" can relate to the "gotta have it for the good healthy dump in the morning" thing. Also the after eating analog - kinda gets rid of any lingering bad-ish food taste left over.

Don't flame - just sayin'...

I'll admit that has something to do with my morning analogs...my hubby laughed at me because I went back on them after not having them for that reason. I said, give me a cig, I gotta be able to do my business!
(Being a female, we just refer to it as our business. LOL!!!! )
No one ever seems to bring that up so kudos to you.

I am definately trying to get on the whole grain thing so it is no longer an issue.

Hey,

s so are there still people out there that find that analogs cannot be replaced in the morning, during coffee, after dinner and before bed? and if you did break these few last habitual smokes, what did you do to help, because i try to vape in the morning right when i wake, but honestly, all it does is make me crave an analog even more because if feels like i'm just getting a tease when compared to smoking an analog.

What do you guys think ?
Yes, there are those people. I am one of them. Don't worry about it. For me, the psychological benefit of smoking that one in the morning allows me to avoid the other 19 I would have smoked before vaping. I am able to fool myself by saying that I have not quit smoking and avoid the trauma that seems to accompany the quit for some people. I have been doing that for about a year and intend to keep doing it this way indefinitely.

Question - if you didn't have them on hand - would you run out to buy a pack - just for one???

Great point. Some people can resist the temptation, but not me. I've been playing the RYO game for quite some time, and while I still had a few around, they got smoked such as after every meal. Once I out all my RYO supplies in the crawl space in my basement, my dilemma was solved. Out os sight, out of mind. I still have 1 per week when I'm at my mother's on Sunday afternoon. She brings out a bunch of sweets, and I'm just used to having a cig with her after my sweet tooth is satisfied. I was going to even skip that one last week, but as luck would have it, I pulled my PV out of my pocket, took one drag and the battery was dead. 8-o Oh well, I doubt one a week will hurt anyone. It sure tasted like crap, though. :p

I have been vaping since mid-January and have cut back on the analogs to about 5 a day. I have about 4 left in my latest pack and I'm planning on not buying any more for a while and see how it goes with just vaping.

I do like my morning smoke with my first hit of coffee and I can relate to needing it to 'do my business' so it'll be interesting to see how it goes! I tend to vape minty flavors the most but it the morning I want something rich and not so sweet to go with my coffee. Haven't found that flavor yet!

with some people that have a certain "trained bowel movement" LOL, the analog in the morning helps get all the pipes moving. I know that sounds nasty and is very distasteful to say outloud, lol, but who cares, we're amongst friends. I need the analog in the morning for the morning Dump, ha.

I can absolutely relate - and I'm sure a lot of others can also.
Changing smoking habits always wreaks havoc on my digestive system.

You may want to try having a much higher nic level cart on hand just for the morning vape. Set it up the night before and give it a shot - the higher nic dosage should help with ... you know... initiating the launch sequence, so to speak.

:)

The morning cigarette was the only one that was giving me trouble.

A lot of people up the nicotine strength in order to help replace that morning smoke, but for me it turned out to be a issue of convenience. First thing in the morning I just didn't want to deal with the cartridges, and was not willing to tolerate wicking issues or leaking, or any other slight inconveniences.

So what fixed the problem for me was to drip in the mornings instead of using cartridges.

Good question, Barenetted. I'm not what you would call big on the whole willpower thing. When I really have a craving, I let myself have one and I've noticed the cravings get less and less frequent the longer I vape. Sometimes it's a day or two between cravings.

A month ago, forgetting to pick up cigs at the store meant making a special trip to the gas station down the street. Now even with the cravings, no more trips just to pick up smokes. Now I just vape instead and only grab a pack when I'm out and about and the cravings hit. It's probably not the most methodical system, but I figure time and building new habits are doing their thing. Six months from now I'm guessing my desire to even have the occasional one will be much, much less than it is now or maybe even gone completely.

Exactly the same with me. 4-7 cigs a day, and must have one in morning and before sleeping. Except it has taken over 6 months after starting vaping to get here.

I'm right there with you all, which gets me down sometimes. I've tried to go up to 48mg, which is a bit scary, I fall into the 30 range most of the time. Got HV.. and I still need 5-7 a day. Still much less than the 40 I used to have.

Thats exactly how it is. After three puffs, it's put out.

Strange.

Same thing here. What I find helps me is that I can sort of taste the nicotine in my vapor. So when I have that irrational jonez for an analog I just take a few BIG hits from my 510 and focus on the nicotine taste. It sort of helps the more rational side of my brain to step up and say, "Hey, I'm getting what I need and those analogs have nothing for me".

Not a magic bullet cure but it helps me a lot...

Maybe RY4? I find it rich but not overly sweet.

wow, didnt think my post and question would generate so many replies, thats a good thing though, it means we're all being honest and embracing our choices and options. For me, as i said before, i'm not trying to stop, i'm just trying to slow down, even if smoke 1 pack instead of 2 a day, it saves me 8 bucks a day - 250 $ a month. I'm down from 2 packs to about 5-7 sometimes 10. But what i do have to try, is to NOT have the pv in my mouth all day. i simply can't justify these actions and say that i went down to 5-10 analogs a day but yet suck on the PV all day, going through 10 carts of 36mg eliq. because it would be the same as dipping or chewing tobacco and saying i stopped smoking .Although i'm being healthier, i still consider myself a heavy smoker and the vaping helps me slow down the analog usage. if i were to stay at 5-10 analogs a day fort the rest of my probably short lived life .its still better than 2 packs .Again i just gotta learn to vape as if i would smoke a cig, take about 10 puffs, put it down for 60-90 minutes then vape again. When i get new juices, new flavors, i'm hittin that vape like it's goin outta style.

If you were smoking 2 packs a day, you definitely weren't going 60 - 90 minutes between smokes. You might have gone 30 minutes between. ;)

I have a fresh battery and some 36 mg coffee juice to go with that morning cuppa. I jump right into my non-smoking work environment where I can vape to my hearts content (my taxicab). It takes a little longer than an analog to "get straight" but it puts me in the game a little quicker than dawdling at home smoking the analog. I have simply replaced one ritual for another and this has worked for a couple of weeks after 6 months of vaping. My wife still smokes analogs and I reach for one when I am really stressed, maybe 2-3 times a week. I have also smoked and collected pipes for years and have a sizable stash of my favorite pipe tobaccos so I sometimes enjoy a pipe in the evening instead of vaping. I never really wanted to give up cigs, I just wanted to enjoy vaping in my cab where smoking is illegal in Colorado. Vaping has replaced smoking slowly over the months just because I feel better the less I smoke and save a good bit of money. It just sort of happened for me. Enjoy your tobacco and enjoy your vaping and surf that part of the dharma as it is!

I agree with that, lol. But yes, i'm used to smoke 2-3 analogs during break time at lunch, and then 2 in a row every 60-90 minutes, maybe also smoke 4-5 on a 30 minute drive to work, so basically, i was smoking anytime i could :)
