I could resist it, I'd hate for people to be missing out on the fun. I did a guide on the subject a while ago. Take a look if you dare lol. You will see my handy work.:D
Www.vapinghardware.com/guides/how-to-re-wrap-a-vape-battery

Genius. Very well written and helpful guide!

This is all I needed to know! :D

"WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO RE-WRAP YOUR BATTERY?
  1. Because the original wrap is damaged and exposing the metal case. It could be very dangerous to use this battery in this condition. Never use a battery where its wrap is damaged.
  2. It is far cheaper to re-wrap your battery than to throw it away and get a new one.
  3. Identification of a paired (married) set of batteries. Having the same wrap (a custom wrap) on a paired set of batteries makes them easily identifiable."

Hehe it wont be long before you can join the battery "Re-Wrappers Club" now:D

Don't hold your breath, dear. I'd rather buy a new battery than risk having my face blown off. I'm the most defensive vaper in the world. I won't even leave my batteries on a charger unattended for longer than 15 minutes. And my charger is always on a granite counter, far, far away from anything even remotely flammable. And I wouldn't use a mech if you paid me.

I've never had rewrap in 6 years! Maybe I'm just lucky?! [emoji16]

A lot of folk will just dispose of a battery when it's looking shabby and pick up a new one. The main thing to always observe is that the wrap is in good condition and not damaged exposing parts of the metal casing.
When it is, dont use it as it could be dangerous, either rewrap or dispose.

Yes, I would definitely rewrap if it needed doing. Luckily I just haven't torn or worn any of the wraps on my batteries. [emoji16]

Thanks for not laughing at me. I've seen pictures of the results of thermal runaways that can happen in lithium-ion batteries. It wasn't pretty.

    ETA: Deleted video. Bad idea.

    Carry on. ;)

I'd never laugh, always best to be safe. I had a battery short in an old Smok mod that you had to unscrew the Allen key screws out to replace the battery. Cant remember the model but that went into thermal runaway. I threw it out into the garden., not a pretty sight.

Why is it always (or almost always) a Smok?

Nobody tells me anything, that's the problem.

I do so that I have matching batteries to go with my mods, most especially my mechanical mods with the see through doors..

I have a black Armageddon with clear white door that I use black wraps in, a blue mod with frosted blue doors I pair with blue wraps and an amber ultem mod that I've been using desert camouflage in...

It's the ultimate in matchy matchy, but when you can physically see the battery it's a bit necessary..

Fraud! What vaper makes it three years without having to rewrap a battery? ;)

That makes me feel like a right klutz. I can't make it more than a few months without rewraping a battery. Has anyone else noticed that they seem to come in clusters? Whenever I rewrap one battery, all the rest get envious of its shiny new coat and sprout scratches left and right just so they can get one too.

I must admit I try EXTRA hard to gently place the batteries in the bay especially depending on the charger and/or battery. Like my Nitecore N14 ate up the ends of my 21700 of only the 30Ts but not other same sized batteries. pita. Really.

You have to rewrap batteries? Why? I haven't rewrapped a battery in my 10+ years of vaping. Am I doing it wrong?

somewhere someone mentioned something about nicks and stuff. So far I just keep buying new batteries because there always on sale some where lol!!
