The guys at work have declared my vaping a hobby. I have been going on about how much cheaper it is than smoking, but after 10 weeks I figure I haven't saved a dime.

Of course, another way of looking at it is I have enough juice to last me about a year and a half, enough flavors to open a shop, and a hobby that keeps me occupied.

Bottom line, I enjoy it more than I enjoyed smoking. It is interesting to me. It isn't as unhealthy. And it hasn't cost me any more than I was already spending. Any one of these things would make it worth it.

I can only agree with the responses given here. I just want to make a correction to the OP. vaping is definitely not more convenient. I think it is the perfect invention for smokers that don't want to die.

Yeah, there's a bit more involved to it than ripping open a pack and lighting an analog, but I like the fact that it's so much cheaper.

AS I found out recently when I forgot my E-cig, it is a hobby that becomes a habit at only certain moments and situations, mostly only when I'm out drinking, then I gotta have it or else I'll be an unhappy camper. And it's not just getting nicotine because I tried with an analog and it sucked bad, it's the feeling and taste of an e-cig that analog does not give me anymore. E-cig 510 with 36, 555, = awesome. It's become more obsessive to have it and be able to use it occasionally at any time, while playing pool, darts, friends house, beach, whatever. ( yes, beaches ban analogs out here in Cali ). So yeah it's all 3 at different times, then the addiction just drops off and I have no urge for any at all, can go very long periods without even thinking about smoking e-cig or nicotine pleasure. And the adiction part is really clean and controlled compared to analogs, just doesn't really compare to me.

Definitely not cheaper here. I spend a lot more now, hopefully for a short time (stocking up for Armageddon). Feel tons better than 30+ years of 2+ packs a day. For me the financial end is not as important as my health, doctor said I had mild emphysema :(.

So 30 years + 16 starting age, ok I'm an old coot.

Errrr. Yep trading one habit for another with a hobby twist, but I'm a liking it!

I've spent a bunch this month too, don't ask me to add it all up, it scares me to think about it. The good thing is that with everything I've ordered I should have everything I need for about the next year. Except for Mint Liquid and I haven't figured out a good recipe for that, but if I have to spent $15 a month on that I'm still doing good. I still will be spending overall about half of what I did on cigs.

I'll agree it's replacing a habit with a habitual hobby.

I almost went back to analogs my first week because I thought to myself, "This is too much trouble". The NJoy NPro I'd purchased was leaking constantly, running out of juice after just a few drags, making me wait a minute or so between groups of 2 to 3 drags. One day I went through both batteries while I was at work and had forgotten to bring my charger with me. It was one thing after another.

When I got my Titan 510, things changed. It's not really any less complicated, but I've settled into a routine. I spend about 30 minutes a night mixing several PTB-modded carts to take with me the next day. My PCC keeps my batteries fresh. And I always have a spare 6ml bottle in my pocket just in case.

I've really enjoyed trying to find the perfect flavor ( 1x caramel + 3x Bavarian cream right now), and I've found that I enjoy vaping like I used to enjoy analogs back ten years ago, before all the health problems started taking their toll.

Financially, I haven't broken even yet. But I should this month, and from there I'll be saving quite a bit.

All in all, I'm happy to have discovered vaping. And I never want to go back to analogs.

Yeah, you could say I am little guilty of going into hobby mode. Hey, it keeps me off the streets! This is what has arrived so far. I have a ton of liquid, spare atomizers, carts and a 901 kit as well as another 510 kit on the way.

I think I've spent over $600 this month alone...

Oh well, I've enjoyed myself!

Holy Carp!!!

I felt bad that I spent $140 between two devices and 3 bottles of liquid! I think I also spent at least $40 on analogs until I finally stopped buying the completely a couple of days ago. All of that together is about as much as I'd spend in a month of analogs without e-cigs so I haven't banked anything yet, but I'm even.

At the moment it's breaking a bad habit. Though I can see it quickly turning into a hobby. Tonight while I was at Target once I found the staple items I went there for (shampoo, body wash, etc.) I found myself thinking I hit the jackpot when I saw Lipton teas with pyramid tea bags for $1.49!!!! Damn skippy I bought 'em!
