Halo user thinking about upgrading to ProVari mini

Hello fellow vapers!

I currently have a Halo Triton setup. It was great at the beginning, but I feel like I am not getting the full flavor and vapor production out of my juices that I could be. Just looking for some pros and con's of the ProVari mini. It is a relatively steep price. The starter kit I put together totaled about 245, but with tax season coming up my refund check is burning a hole in my pocket before I even got it.

Feel free to weigh in on whether or not you think this would be a worthy investment for me.

All I can add is my opinion on them. They are quality, "no frills" devices that last. I love mine. There is a reason they have a cult like following.

The only con I can think of is the initial price and the 18350 battery. I would get an 18490 extension for sure just in case.

Thumbs up on the Provari - we now own 3 between us and I really love mine. But almost everyone will tell you that they love their mods, or they wouldn't be using them every day.

I started with the Halo Triton kit and within a month upgraded to the Provari mini and cartotanks - which I love. I still use my Halo gear - particularly when going out, because it's small and discrete. Also I have more tanks for the Halo than the Provari. The cartotank gives me a wonderful flavor with very little fuss (I use the ones from IB Tanked). I did get the extension, but I find it very large and rarely use it. I have half a dozen batteries, and usually just alternate two of them.

All I have to say is this:


The ProVari is great at what it does. It is a variable voltage mod that has an amp limit of 3.5, and will fire down to 0.8 ohms. So if you want Variable Wattage, or to do sub-ohm, or anything outside of the specs of the device it is not a good fit for you.

What I like about the ProVari is that Provape makes a first-rate product that is made of first-rate materials built with great craftsmanship. It's voltage output is astoundingly accurate and does not drop off as the battery power flags. The only other mod that does this close to as well as a ProVari is the Semovar. The people at Provape stand behind their product in a way that makes their service the gold standard of the industry. The 510 threading is manufactured at Provape and is the highest quality steel, as is every other part of the device. I have never heard of a ProVari with stripped threads. Like everything else on the ProVari, it is built to last.


If you like these features, $159 is a pretty reasonable price to try it. What all are you getting to get the package to $245?


If you don't like it after you buy it, you can resell it for 90% of your cost quite easily, for the mod at least...


If you want other features, get something else. There are other good mods with other features.

I won the standard satin silver one last Aug. when I started to vape. In Oct. got the bronze mini for birthday. Next month will get the polished steel mini for 6 mo. quit analogue anniversary, wedding anniversary, and Valentine's Day.......Then there's Mother's Day, Easter, Fourth of July.........My non smoking husband is a REALLY appreciative guy!

You won't go wrong with a provari. Do get the extension cap while you're at it - gives you battery versatility.

This thing has a cult following and not because of marketing - it just plain does everything very well. Solid, solid device.

I started out with a bunch of Halo G6 gear... all too soon wanted more when I started doing DIY, so played the Asian game for awhile with 3 mechs, one VV/VW Sigelei and a bunch of Kanger gear. I upped the mech ante with a Megalodon that I still use and love before I finally got my act together and went to ProVari's. The Halo and especially the Chinese gear seldom gets used anymore, the five PV's get used daily.

I started with Halo G6, which is a really nice cigalike, but the Provari blows everything else out of the water. Solid construction, wonderful vapor production, intelligently designed, a ton of features...there is a good reason so many Provari owners are kinda fanatical. It IS really that good. I have a mini and it's the perfect size for me. You will love it.

My husband also started two weeks ago with a halo triton kit, he's currently planning on getting a Provari once taxes come back. Actually we'll both be getting one.He doesn't like that he really can't do any adjusting to the triton, what you have is what you have. I plan on getting the mini because I wanted something more portable, smaller than a full size provari. Personally I'd rather have to carry an extra battery than have a larger mod. The way I see it is that if I'm going to keep buying all kinds of gear I'd rather have a good base mod instead of ending up with several lower quality ones, I can play around with buying different style toppers from there and spend my money that way. I appreciate that its american made. It seems to me that going with a Provari will be a worth while experience. And if it isn't? Eh, put it up on the swap and sell it at not much loss. Bingo, retaining value.

I started with the Halo G6 and really liked it. Then moved to an MVP2, which I also liked. Then I bought the Provari and love it! If you end up buying one, I don't think you will regret it. Not one bit. I personally went with the regular sized Provari with an extension cap so I could use the 18650 batteries and get longer battery life. You can do that with the mini too, but need to buy an extra extension cap and Tatroe ring, which isn't a big deal…….if you have the mini, you can always make it smaller and you can't with the regular size.

Excellent investment. I got mine a few weeks before Christmas (wife tried to hold out on the gift but I told her I was about to buy one from another forum member and she caved). Zero problems, I have the standard with 18490 batteries and I get roughly a day of moderate use from it. If you buy it and don't like it, take a look at what they are going for on the classies...you'll get most of your money back.

The other thing to consider is the juice delivery device. Plenty of great options to sit on top of the provari. Check out bad's blog on carto tanks, the threads on the different rba systems like the kayfuns or genesis atomizers.
