Hammer Clone

Is anyone able to provide me with the dimensions of the hcigar Hammer box (i.e. the manufacturer's packaging)? I ordered the hcigar Hammer online and two days ago I received it, but without the switch/button or extension tubes. Customs claims they didn't open my package and the seller claims he sent everything, including the original box. I only received the Hammer (without switch or tubes) in a USPS box. I'm trying to ascertain whether or not the hcigar box could have fit inside the USPS box. If anyone could provide me with those dimensions I'd be really grateful.

3-3/8" x 3-3/16" x 1-7/8"

Thank you very much realbriguy!
That's interesting because the USPS Priority Mail International Small Flat Rate Box has an internal hight dimension of 1.625" (printed on the side and bottom of the box). 1-7/8" = 1.875", which means the Hcigar Hammer box is taller than the USPS box, but the seller says he sent the Hammer in the Hcigar box in the USPS box. I ordered on eBay so I'm thinking I might push for the money back (or replacement) guarantee.
Anyway, thanks again. I really appreciate it.

Is the battery tube brass or silver?

As far as I can tell it is silver. It's definitely not brass. It's much shinier than the SS body. Are you asking for in case the reason I didn't receive the Hcigar box is because the seller actually sent some other clone? If so, that was one of my first suspicions too. I looked around and it seems the Tobeco and Rainbow Heaven clones have brass tubes. So it seems I did receive an Hcigar... just without the damn switch or extension tubes. FastTech has recently listed a third hammer (this one with SS inner tube). So I've ordered that in the hope that the switch will be compatible with my one. Still waiting to hear from the seller as to whether he can obtain a switch from Hcigar, but don't have high hopes. Then I guess I will escalate the "case" to eBay customer support for final decision. Thanks again.

Got my Hammer and Kayfun in, both Tobeco. I'm more impressed with the Kayfun, to be honest. :) The Kayfun/Hammer combo I was looking forward to isn't working out so well. When I have everything put together, the Kayfun's airhole is on the bottom, right where it's most comfortable to hold the hammer.

So I go to take a hit, and about half the time it's like trying to suck a golfball through a garden hose until I adjust my grip. Annoying to say the least.

I can say that while I won't be giving up my ProVari, this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship between me, mechs, and Kayfuns. :D
Gotta collect them all!

Hey PlanOfMan: What ohms do you have the Kayfun coil at? Is it the prebuilt 2.2ohm or something you built up? I've got my tobeco hammer clone coming in in a few days and the vendor recommended (after warning me off of using a kick with it) a 1.2ohm coil build in the Kayfun clone. I've been running the stock/installed 2.2ohm that came with my other kayfun lite+ clone with my VTR and ZMAX's so I've got some baseline to how it performs (set to 6W in VW mode)

I've tried using NR-R-NR 1.5 ohm wire. Other than my first build, which was perfect, I've had nonstop issues with the Kayfun. All my fault though. I've had the coil too high above the airhole, used too much cotton, etc.

I'm getting the best results using 32 awg Kanthal and cotton. I believe most people use 30 awg in the Kayfun, but I don't have any of that.

1.2 ohms is about perfect for a non-sub ohm build on the hammer. That's what I'm running in the ProTank I've got on it now.

The prebuilt coils go into a little baggie marked "for emergencies only." I don't really care for most prebuilt silica/wire combos.

Edit: A Chaos drip tip is sick looking on the hammer. Just an FYI. :D

Okay, I got the Taifun GS on a whim, not knowing anything about it.

When I got it, I picked it up and almost out loud, screamed "WHAT IS THIS TINY PIECE OF JUNK?!"

... then a lightbulb struck, and this was the result:

Now I love it! LOL

Just finished cleaning it up. Going to coil this bad boy up and get some juice in there.

gwelker; I'm using a 1.8 ohm coil in my Hammer-kayfun combo, with a kick at 12w (which actually works splendidly in the Hammer). A 1.2 ohm coil will be way above 6w (you'll be at 7.5w when the battery is down to 3v, which is pretty much below empty). The prebuilt coil is most likely [insert appropriate term for feces] and you'll be much better of building your own coil (it's very simple on the kayfun, and this is coming from someone who's really bad at building coils. If you like 6w though, a 2.2 ohm coil should be about right (from about 8w at 4.2v - fully charged - to about 5w at 3.3v - which is as good as fully discharged).

Hey KenD, I think you're right, 2.2ohm sounds like the ticket. I've got everything to build up my own coils, so I think I'll do that with the second Kayfun coming in with the Hammer clone. I'm using the android app Vaper's Toolbox for the calculations. And bookmarked some of the excellent Youtube tutorial/walkthru's out there for the Kayfun coil build options. I've got 2mm and 3mm silica wick (I'll try the cotton after I baseline those) and 30, 32, 34 gauge Kanthal. I fired up the pre-installed coil 2.2ohm coil that come's with the first Kayfun I ordered to have a baseline to compare my coils to. It's working fine (good flavor which is what I care about).

Definitely need to look for a longer drip tip ala @realbriguy's pic. I wonder if I can find a real church warden pipe stem to sand down to 510 size? Then just need to put on my viking 2 horn helmet hat (?!) and puff away like I'm in some mash-up of the lord of the rings and beowulf.

Thanks for the 2.2 realization. I would have built a 1.2 ohm and been like (...? this is hot/burnt/different than my normal dialed in wattage...)

The kayfun can handle way more wattage than clearos. On my evods most liquids would burn at above 8w, some could handle up to ten. With the kayfun the same liquids, almost all of them, taste fantastic on my SVD set to 15w. On my next build I'm gonna go for 1-1.2 ohms and run the hammer without a kick.
