I am so excited! Got my tank today. Have to admit I was a little scared to punch carto but I have now just punched my first carto (hammer nail method took a little time & patience), placed in my first tank, filled with juice and am bellowing out plumes of yummy vapor. The tank is absolutely beautiful. * doing happy dance*. :vapor:

I will do review on website once I've used a few days. Thanks for awesome product.

Happy it arrived and you like it! Looking forward to hearing your thoughts once you have had an opportunity to use it.

Don't forget if you have any questions you can post them here or feel free to email us. info@phiniac.com

If you have already gotten past punching your first carto, you should be well on your way!

I guess I went all gonzo when I tried the hammer & nail method, all I ended up doing was ruining 2 cartos. Bent 'em to the point where they wouldn't slide into a tank.

:glare:

The Saddle Valves work really well for punching and can be found at any hardware store for around $6 or $7 bucks (or online) and are good - I've read - for about 50 Carto's before they get too dull to punch.

Once mine gets dull I'm gonna take a file and see if it'll sharpen up again.

I plan on getting some sort of punch at some point but until then nail and hammer will do..... "ouch the thumb" :?: *..thinking..."must hit the nail, must hit the nail"....

As far as the Jar contest goes, the reason we made you guys vote for a jar, is we were thinking big and hoping the new jars would sell as soon as we put them on the site (hey we can dream can't we) and we wanted to make sure there was a jar available for the jar contest. Fast forward to today, only a few jars have sold, so if the winner wants or likes another better, just let us know!

What did you use to hold the carto steady? Maybe that's where I went wrong.

I know this will sound silly but I used a sponge. I cut a slot (line) about the length of carto a few mm deep. Placed the carto inside the slot, placed fingers on each side of the cart with a little sponge between and pecked away with the hammer on nail. Hey it worked, it didn't slide around and that was all I could think of to do cause I was in a hurry to try new tank out.

I tried Shan B's inverted & cut condom method (or whatever she calls it) and that didn't work at all for me so .. I then took 2 clothes pins and attached them to either side of my target spot - which worked fine as far as holding it still - but I think that's why they bent on me.

After that I gave up and went to the Hardware store.

Are you still gonna do some Test Tanks for the personalized lettering tanks?

(or am I the guinea pig? LOL)

Hehehe

We have a few already done and I have been meaning to video them. But to be honest I didn't like the way they came out. I think the grand unveiling will be yours!! And no, you are not a guinea pig, if you don't like them we are not going to force you to buy them!

I saw a tank I'd love to buy or have made for me ... sadly I didn't save the video and I can't seem to find it again (it was on a weird Hybrid PV and the vid was in German or something).

Anyway .. this tank was short, couldn't have been more than 3/4" - 1" tall but was w-i-d-e (around 1 1/2" wide, I'd guess). It looked sooo cool.

Like a mini flying saucer!
