I referred a customer to V4L for a Vapor King and pre-filled (he wasn't ready to do his own filling). He's coming from a SafeCig and was complaining that it had good vapor production, but didn't give him that "lung-filled" effect of smoking. I wasn't sure if that meant he really WASN''T getting good vapor (not knowing what a good device can deliver) or if he was actually looking for throat hit.

Anyhoo, he got a KR808 from V4L. Got auto batteries (plus one manual on my recommendation) and the tobacco sampler pre-filled pack. He didn't like any of those tobacco flavors (Hilton, Kant, RY4, 555, Dunhall) compared to the SafeCig tobacco. He also said the draw was really hard compared to the SafeCig and the vapor was about the same. He said he actually preferred the SafeCig, which I find hard to believe it's really better!

Does he need to "break in" the carto for better flavor? Would manual batteries have better draw? I don't know what to tell him! Any tips for him from you V4L experts? :)

I did convince him to order a manual after he told me he ordered autos (I had recommended manual, but he didn't listen.) He said he ordered one, but he hasn't told me if he tried it yet.

I'm guessing the tobacco flavor he was using was basic Dekang, which is what most of those companies carry. Anything in the V4L line that is most similar? I also thought I remembered reading here once that you have to get a few puffs in before the carto starts performing at it's optimum for flavor and vapor. Is that true?

What about the WOW cartos?

I have tried many of the sampler carto packs and in regards to tobacco flavors much preferred the WoW Tobacco sampler. I also agree that sometimes it takes getting the carto warmed up before you get the best flavor out of it. You might also suggest the Coffee Shop sampler - I was really surprised at how much I liked it. I have not tried any others except the SmokeTip I started with which is nothing in comparison

Weird, since he has 1 manual and 2 auto batteries that are brand new. The newer auto batteries actually have more draw than they last generation and the manuals generally draw better (stronger vapor & th) than the autos. The only other thing that could create that situation would be using a battery that wasn't fully charged. That would definitely cause him to draw much harder to produce even adequate vapor.

Thanks everyone!

Yeah, I suggested coffee already. We'll see if he takes my advice! ;) He got some free samples, apple cinnamon and cola I think, but didn't like them. He insists on tobacco. I get it - my husband has been a die hard menthol vaper and I think my brother has tried over 1/2 the tobacco flavors out there. Some folks just want their tobacco! LOL!

Could be the battery wasn't charged enough, SD - good idea and I'll mention it to him! Maybe I can get him to try the WOW tobaccos. I don't think he'd like the Cowboy as it has all of those other flavors - the more true to tobacco the better. I already explained to him that nothing tastes like burning tobacco.

Now I feel a bit bad getting him started! He ordered an ecig case from me and I was asking what he used because his foam insert request was a bit unusual. We got to talking (emailing) and I went off on a tangent in my usual way - talking about different options. I gave him the tip on the mouth inhale and he said that helped a lot. Somehow I feel like I should have left it at that, because he's not thrilled with the 100 bucks he spent on my advice! (He's very nice about it, which makes me feel even worse!!) So, I'd like to try to get him the best advice possible for optimizing his Vapor King!

I appreciate everyone's input!

I used the Parliament and it worked for me, but the new flavor isn't my cup of tea. Laugh all you want, and I didn't say this mind you, have him try Grape. Laugh all you want, I'll even buy a pack for you if need be, but it's changed many a mind about vaping!

Shhhhhh.....Saw.......grape is terrible...remember?

Thanks for the tips, guys, I'll pass them on!

I got an email from him last night and he seems to be falling along the same path as typical new e-cig users:

Dear Kristin,

My case arrived today. I immediately took my 3 VK units, assembled, and fit them in the case, along with one assembled Safe-Cig unit. I can now have access to a variety of flavors, as well as a manual and an automatic battery unit, and carry them with me wherever. I added the extra thin foam insert in the top of the case, and all fits snugly without a rattle or shake. Such a deal!

Thanks for the case, and all the good advice. By the way, I got some new cartomizers from VK, and the new unit is working much better now. I’m even enjoying a butterscotch cart that they threw in. The whole secret is in finding the flavors that fit – if that works, everything else can be worked out. All the best.

Next thing you know, he'll be talking refilling, .... plugs and condoms with you guys! (Not to mention the infamous Grape flavor!) LOL!

Good job, V4L!
