I have a voopoo drag 2. Not too happy with a lot of things about it. Anyway...

So I don’t use temp control much. I’m very basic. I’m wondering if a setting is bad? See the fire button is also the menu scroll so I may have accidentally changed something. If anyone can help I’d appreciate it.

It literally burns my throat, on 60 Watts. Dunno what’s up

I think we all need more info to help you. Tank, coils, old or new coils, juice, nic,?
Did I leave anything out?

Much, much more information needed like oh, juice, coils, how old is your coil, what type of tank you have, PG/VG ratio nic level, manufacturer, juice flavor the list goes on.

If I had to guess. I'd say your wattage MAY be too high but my outright GUESS is based on the information you have provided, which is your wattage level. Since it's all you have offered I'm going to agree with those saying turn down your wattage but it is an outright GUESS.

Come back and fill in some variables!

If you are using the tank that came with the Drag 2 and are using the pre-installed coil, I am guessing you are using the U2 coil.

I never bothered with it as I had read such terrible things about them, however I donated the U2 that came with my Drag 2 to my other half as she didn't want to use the mesh coil in her Drag mini. Safe to say after 2 hours of vaping she had the same issues as the Op.

She then tried another U2 coil from a pack she bought - that lasted just over a day. Moral of the story? If you are using the U2 coil, take it out, bin it and install the N3 coil which is the best Voopoo coil I have used. Only downside was it only lasted 10 days.

The more PG in the e-liquid, the harsher it's going to be. Nicotine also adds harshness. You can also try to turn the power down.
And the last thing - are you sure you're using it properly? Countless customers complained about their throat burning. In the end, they were taking a draw like a cigarette, which, for a DL atomizer is completely wrong.

Maybe try placing the tank on a different mod with the same wattage and see if it is actually your voopoo settings that are causing the harsh it. I suggest changing one variable at a time that way it’s eaiser to narrow it down. Changing two many things at once won’t give you a straight forward solution.

As others have said, it's a function of wicking ability. With just about any tank you use there's a limit on wattage, past which you start to starve the wicking and get dry hits. Start low with a fully wetted wick and increase power until you find the max wattage that the wick and coil will support. That's the point where you start to get dry hits. Back off from there until you find the sweet spot.
