While the new flavors are really something brand new to analog smokers, and they can add a new dimension to the whole e-cig smoking experience, I found that keeping one cartridge filled with 'tobacco-only' flavored was an excellent 'bridge' to keep me on track. As I started trying all the flavors, I began to notice a craving for a 'real' cig. That's when I purchased some e-liquid that was one of the more traditionally-flavored tobacco (think it was called 'Denver') and it was amazing how much it 'hit-the-spot' in terms of craving a 'real' smoke. I would encourage anyone struggling with the switch to try this. The 'hit' seems to be much more realistic and though I never really considered myself a lover of the tobacco flavor, it is a flavor 'sensation' that the body seems to react to as 'that's-what-I-wanted', if that makes any sense. THEN, after you've had a few minutes of vaping 'real tobacco' flavor, the other awesome flavors are just even MORE enhancing and enjoyable, not to mention something you can NEVER experience with real cigs.
Also, one of the really tricky parts to making the switch is learning to 'hit' or 'vape' since the atomizer doesn't allow you to do it the same. Once you get the hang of inhalation, incrementally and holding it, then you'll find the throat hits are just as satisfying, if not more so.
Obviously, and unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately as that is how so many people ultimately landed on this e-cig site and became successful vapors), most of us first got introduced to the concept of e-smoking by the more ubiquitous and what I consider to be inferior e-cig products, which in my opinion, make the initial e-cig trial really disappointing. Then, after I found this forum, particularly the live chat, I was encouraged and help tremendously by others, giving me excellent advice on e-cig products which ultimately, did provide me with a truly viable alternative to the traditional cigarette. From the time I ordered my first one, to the time I finally received my really great one, I probably spent about 3 weeks of grappling with 'what-to-do', smoking analogs, to hump me along.
I think for those who failed to make the switch, they just perhaps didn't take some painstaking steps to do the homework, watch all the videos, ask the questions, look for answers, ultimately finding the quality e-products that I believe will make the switch a very solid and lasting solution to sucking cancer-sticks. It's a 'no-brainer' to light a cigarette, but to skillfully master the art of vaping requires learning a completely new skill, and that is never done in a single moment. The forum and live chat was invaluable support and I am certain without the forum, I would have reverted back, so I am very grateful to this forum, as many are, for providing an excellent source of support and information.
At this point, like so many others have commented, I have gotten to the point that vaping is much more pleasant and rewarding and DEFINITELY more healthy and at a FRACTION of the cost. PLUS other rewards are priceless, such as hugging those you love (without having to worry if they are going to smell nasty nicotine on you or be offended), among many, many other rewards of KICKING THE .... out of traditional smoking!
Good luck and if you hang in there and learn, you'll find you're not giving up anything you love, at all! YOU CAN DO THIS if you apply yourself.
