Please get your dogs fixed first. (Priorities)
Try and hold out on upgrading. The first 6 mos. to one year, I was like obsessed with vaping and order a bunch of stuff and spent a lot. I lost interest and now I just want everything to work with the least amount of effort and $. I found everyone raves about products, but I haven't found anything that works well ALL THE TIME. I've had a horrible experiences with products everyone raved about. Quality control is terrible for all this stuff. I went from the corner store ecig to an ego, to the itaste (piece of junk), to Vision Spinner, the Twist, to a Vamo V2 (lost it), Vamo v3 (wearing out), and Vamo v5 (something wrong with it). You'll need at least two of everything so as to have a backup to prevent you from smoking.
As for tanks, I find them frustrating, but dripping is not for me. I've been happy enough with my X10 tanks ($6.49) from Fasttech.com (Hong Kong-they can't ship batteries to USA). I'm happy enough with the replacement coils (10 for $8.67) since they are quite inexpensive so if I have to toss a few, it's no biggy. None of the tanks work perfectly (flooding or dry). After a year of trying to rebuild coils, I haven't had much success. I've spent way too much trying new things. I mix my own juice (just a simple tobacco - I don't do a bunch of flavors). It's not as good as what I can buy, but it's doable and a fraction of the cost, so I've adapted - it keeps me from smoking.
You could find a Vaping Meetup group to maybe look and try what others use. Just be careful as I have found everyone raves about their setup and they tend to not tell you the bad and they spend a lot. It will never be like a cigarette and all vaping stuff is putzying around with something. If you want this to be your expensive hobby, go ahead. If your like me and just want to get off cigarettes, lower your expectations and try not to think about it too much. As long as it's working be satisfied.
