I'm almost at that point with my husband. Of all the people I've turned, he has been the most difficult pain in the you know what. This includes my 60 something mother in law who is going blind and needs me to fill her clearo and perform all maintenance. My husband never really wanted to quit smoking. He did it because I did it, and because it's $12 to $14 per pack here in NYC. We've been priced out of smoking, which is fine by me because I thoroughly enjoy vaping. I love to tinker with things, I love all the different flavors to try, and so far I love the Internet community and real life fellow vapers I've met so far. My husband however, hates to tinker with things, is a bit anti technology, and just loves the taste and smell of cigarettes. He always will. That's okay. I never told him he HAD to do this. I don't get angry if he has a cigarette. All I did was buy him a starter kit along with others I bought for other people. At the price kits were, I was able to just buy them for a bunch of smokers I knew with all the money I've saved from not smoking cigarettes. $15 is a no brainer when packs are $14 each.

Regardless of his anti tinkering, anti tech, views, he found vaping to be simple enough to quit smoking for the most part. He still has a cigarette now and then, after the kids go to bed but I have no issue with that. We've always smoked in the garage, and he still does. I never say a word about it. Once it was apparent that I could quit smoking entirely and he could quit for the most part, I decided to buy us some nicer gear. Something that'll last us longer. I bought myself an iTaste VV v3 and a Mini Protank II. Offered the same setup for him, but he refused. He couldn't understand why I would buy something more expensive then that original, $15 set up. A set up he didn't particularly enjoy, as it appears it doesn't give him a hard enough throat hit and he inhales too hard for the cheap, bottom coil clearo that it came with. It constantly gurgles and floods on him. Instead of trying to fix it, he then waits for me to get home from work and whines that he has been without nicotine all day. Regardless of these issues, he made me buy him the same starter kit as back up, rather then what I got myself. My guess is that he figured he wouldn't be vaping for long.

Fast forward a couple of weeks, and I've left my mini Protank home a few times. He starts to use it. Next thing I know, he refuses to use anything but the mini Protank. So, I buy myself another. At least this way there isn't whining. He has never had an issue with it thankfully. We have been able to vape it to the last drop and there's no gurgling. Then, I start noticing that the iTaste has no charge in mornings, after I KNOW I plugged it in to charge over night. Come to find out he's been vaping with it exclusively in the night while I'm sleeping because it gives him better throat hit. He's also discovered there's no need to adjust the volts on it once it's on wattage. It gives him the same kind of hit no matter what clearo he's got on it. I CAN'T GET I BACK NOW! The man who refused to let me try to make vaping better for him is now stealing all my gear. Gah! I get shiny new things in the mail, and it becomes his. Thank goodness for this board and all you wonderful people though. With it being so close to Christmas, it's harder to buy replacements for all the gear he claims. Because all of you post where to find the best prices for the best stuff, I've got an MVP2 coming to replace my iTaste VV v3 for cheaper then I bought the iTaste. Also, because do all of you, we haven't had to go through every single clearo on the market to find something that works for both my husband and I. We've got the mini Protanks and we couldn't be happier. Thanks all!

Hee hee hee! You don't even know how many times I've seen married couples come in, one is completely against it and is dragging their toes, and the other is gung-ho.

The gung-ho one buys a set-up, and leaves with their hands-in-pockets/kicking-dirt spouse. A week later, said gung-ho one comes back in in a huff and says their dirt-kicking spouse stole their set-up and now they need a new one.

Happens every week, I swear to you.

Hide the MVP2!! DO NOT let him see it!!!

I come from the PRECISE same situation and he TOOK my first MVP2. Thankfully at that point I still had my SVD, CVI and Lavatube as well as Winders, Spinners and Egos. Well before I got a chance to order another MVP he managed to murder the last of the egos and winders, the CVI, I ordered another MVP2 for MYSELF AGAIN. (granted I offered to buy him one the first time around and he said NO) While it was on the way HE BROKE THE DANG LAVATUBE. So I ordered a 3rd MVP2. Thankfully he constantly changes the watts on the SVD when he tries to use it. Its the only device to date that seems to be safe from his use and/or destruction

SO HIDE IT! LOL. Keep it far far away. Also - may I recommend complaining about how much it sucks when you HAVE to use it in his presence? Otherwise you will end up out an MVP too!

Awe i bet he would be very happy with the mvp2, its not as girly as the vv3. Has weight, fits i back pocket.

Im not sure what you mean by tinkering... Ive not had to tinker with anything. Well i adjust my voltage or wattage a lot.
If i had to tinker a lot id be irritated by it all.

Im glad things are working out... I cant seem to figure out if you are satisfied or not.

Some things to think about for hubby, i miss smoking too, the taste the feel etc...
Why not get him the whitecloud starter kit. To add to his collection. 29.99 wckit15 gets you 15% off. It definately satisfies that whole i want a cigarette thing. They also have disposables... Mini flings, but by the time you buy a minths supply you could just have the rechargeable kit.

I see this as a big WIN for you!! He takes your old gear and you get new shinys!! He can't complain or whine that you are spending too much on new shinys....because HE'S the reason!!

I thought I'd never hear the end of it when the iTaste came in the mail. He really thought that those cheap, $15 batteries were as good as it got as far as functionality was concerned. For $15, they are pretty good. Variable volt passthroughs. He thought they did everything anyone could want in an ecig. Like I bought the iTaste because it was a prettier accessory. Then he tried it. Now he's all "When will the MVP be here? I need you to leave the iTaste with me when you go to work. I didn't want to use the older batteries. They suck" he thinks I'm going to leave it with him like I left the Mini Protank with him before a second one came in. I'm far more attached to the iTaste then I am with to the protanks though.

Oh, just replacing and cleaning the coils and playing with the watts and volts and seeing what works for which flavors and what not. Not really tinkering I guess. More just maintenance and experimenting. He likes the iTaste and mini Protank set up because for him it's the most set it and forget it combo he's tried so far. Set the iTaste to whatever watt gets you your ideal throat hit, and it doesn't matter if you need to switch out the mini protanks coil and isn't the same ohms as the last. The iTaste will just adjust volts itself to come to the same wattage you were vaping at before. He doesn't want the MVP 2. That's for me. To replace the iTaste he now claims for himself. As for cigalikes, I've abandoned thinking of getting him one of those sets. If the ego style batteries weren't as satisfying to him as the iTaste, I'm sure he'll really be frustrated with any cigalike.

Things are surviving with him so far. He just doesn't want to have to maintain anything. So far, every time he's claimed something was "broken" I've been able to get it working once I get home from work. Thankfully, he says the MVP2 looks too clunky judging from pics online. Hopefully, since it does the same thing as the iTaste, he won't get the desire for it. I told him it simply made sense for me as I'm gone 12 hours a day between work and my commute. I need that battery life.

Is the MVP2 really much better then the iTaste VV v3? In all seriousness, I bought it because it'll charge my phone in a pinch during my 2 hour commute. That and, I obviously had to get something since he's claimed the iTaste. Seeing how it was on sale for $40, it made more sense to get that another iTaste. I figured same basic function as the iTaste, and while it may not be too clunky for my purse it may be too clunky for his pocket. Now you're telling me this isn't going to work as planned? Oh boy...

I've never had the iTaste VV V3, but the MVP is less clunky than it looks in the photos. It's roughly the size of a pack of virginia slims. It's a bit big for my pocket but it does fit lol. It is really fantastic for battery life!

Perhaps it's time to just start ordering two of all of your new shinies and tucking one away until he ends up stealing the first one.

It is much better, i have two vv3 and a mvp2, might as well just get him one. If he doesnt end up wanting yours, ill prolly poop myself. Even the vape is smoother... Hard to explain it, but you will notice it. The mvp2 makes the vv3 seem feminin... I would laugh at... Well i dont want to step on toes, im just saying... From the sound of your husband, he is goi g to want it... And he sounds like the majority of us here... What you have is oerfect, u til you experience the next level, Then that new one is perfect and yours is junk. Ive worked up to a provari, waiting for the mail... If you ever get one, just make it easier and get two haha. Or whatever you get, just get two... Ooooooooor, go to jwraps and pick a girly skin for your battery.. That might deter him

After the holidays, I do plan on ordering two of everything from then on. When I ordered the iTaste, it was still up in the air on whether he'd stick with vaping or not. I offered to buy two MVP's but he insisted it was too big and strange. He actually wanted cigalikes for a while, rather then an ego style battery because he wanted small. I convinced him they wouldn't be satisfying to him, and they wouldn't be if he prefers my iTaste so much more then the 650 mAh battery he started with.
