I tell people that it is a miniature fog machine that keeps me from smoking.
If they say that I'm still smoking, I'll explain to them why I am not.

If they still insist that I am still smoking, then they have a serious flaw...

Either they are too stupid, too stubborn, too brainwashed, or too self-righteous for me.
And people like that I don't have any time for.

Thankfully, none of my immediate family fall into any of those categories, because things could get ugly.

Now if it was a co-worker, or someone else I was forced to be around...
Every time they said I'm still smoking, I would tell them they are still an idiot....

So if they don't like me calling them an idiot, they always have the option of shutting up.

So my wife and I both have VV w/ tanks on top and for the life of people can't understand that nicotine imhalation is not smoking. They think its great but you haven't "quit" yet. This is quite irritating as I know the facts and they choose to say that we haven't quit yet. Anyone have/know people like this?
I can see what people are saying though. It is sort of taboo. They could just be giving you a hard time though lol.
Luckily, enough people where I live still mind their own business. Did get into a bar fight because this old guy was talking smack about me using my ecig .. So maybe not.

If you have an odd looking pv (Provari) because it's big and looks nothing like everyones perception of an e-cig.I always say it's a P.V. I need it for my asthma. The vapor is water that loosens my lungs. No more questions from waiters, car salesman, government offices, airports, and nosey people.

Most people who ask me about my Reo are genuinely interested in it. The general public has only seen the analog look-alikes and just know e-cigs as being 2-piece(batt-carto) or 3-piece(batt-atty-cartridge). If someone has silly claims of "this carto is equal to x cigarettes" then I am happy to explain that it's hard to equate a certain amount of nic juice to a cigarette and that those claims are silly.

Then again, "some men you just can't reach." Earlier this week I had someone tell me(while he was smoking) that since I was still using nicotine it was like saying I had quit drinking by only drinking vodka. I just told him that I didn't think so. I'm not going to try to convert someone who doesn't want to listen.

I really don't get much flack for vaping. Maybe because I only vape in my car, at home, at my parents house, or at work. I never vape at food places, department stores or most public places. I just don't want to deal with the issues of people thinking it's still "smoke". Although, I have talked a few of my co-workers into starting to vape from analogs. One guy decided to try it after I told him about it because his wife is pregnant and is sticking to it, another guy is trying it out, and just asked me today "what flavor are you using" and I told him, "fruit punch" and asked me where I got it, and I explained it to him.

I have had lots of support from my family and friends switching over to vaping and quitting analogs over a year ago. My parents are proud of me because I am not killing myself with analogs, and most of my friends have asked me about vaping and they all like the idea, even my non-smoker friends.

I have had the same issue with some family members. They are "happy" we aren't smoking cigs any longer but still have the urge to bug the crap out of us asking when we are going to "quit".

I've just learned to blow them off. My wife and I both feel better about ourselves and that is all that matters.

DaveP has the perfect example....no different than running to the doctor for a pill to lose weight.....ever try to exercise or go on a diet? :p
