I started about a month ago and I really was excited because, like all of you, I have tried everything to quit my pack-a-day/20 year habit. I was still smoking about 1 to 3 cancer sticks a day but every time I lit up, I just couldn't see why. So on this "high", I threw out the cigs, the ashtrays, everything. I was on my way!!

By day 3, I was hysterical and I mean REALLY. It was so bad, my husband was going to go out and get me cigarettes. Day 5, I was so depressed, I got them myself and smoked about 5 of them. Same the next day.

I am so discouraged. I don't understand how I really felt I could quit but then crashed and burned so drastically.

Like many others that I have read about here, I have had a hard time finding the right equipment (yes, I am a Greensmoke target) but after I found the Pigcig, I haven't had any issues with hardware.

I was so sure, that this would help me work my way to smoke-free and I guess I really do still feel that way so I will keep trying and stop feeling guilty for 'not doing it right'.

Really glad I found this forum. This is a wonderful community.

Keep your chin up! I started out in January and have gone back to analogs twice. It is clearly very difficult for so many. This time around I'm at 3 weeks analog free.

As others have said, I'd suggest trying a higher nicotine level. I smoked a pack a day (on average anyway) and have found 24mg appropriate for me. At times, I do feel the need to vape almost constantly though.

My early mistake was not having adequate supplies. My atty's were crap and the flavors I had not all that appealing. This time around I have four good attys (two for "every day", one for menthol, plus a spare), a variety of types and flavors of juice (with 2 more orders on the way), and I've been considerably more satisfied. Learning how to keep my atty hitting up to par also really helped (I use highping's method for my 901).

Best of luck!

sounds like you may need to up your Nic a bit if your still having those Nic fits and cravings, also for what you use to spend on Analogs you can surely afford to experiment a little with another ecig or two maybe an ego and a small mod and LR Atty's which will produce a bit more for you, hang in there keep experimenting and find your perfect vape for YOU. Then you will be fine and not want another analog ever.

A part of what helped me was giving myself permission to smoke whenever I wanted but I making it inconvenient. I put the cigs in one room, the lighter in another, and the ashtrays in another, but I kept my e-cig right by me. I'd think of having a cigarette, plan to get up and get everything and just use the e-cig until I had a minute to get up. I'd end up getting busy on the computer or playing video games with the kids and forget all about getting up until I wanted another cig, and the process would start over. I called it the laziness method. After about a week I didn't even think of having a cig, the habit had been replaced with the e-cig. I kept cigarettes in the house for about a month, just in case, but I never smoked them. I guess the mental trick of telling myself I wasn't denying myself of anything worked. I know when I can't have something that that's when I want it the most so I knew I'd have to trick myself into quitting.

Good luck, it's definitely worth the effort.

Yeah withdrawl does that. I still get pangs thinking I "need" a cigarette. I find that I vape a little extra when that happens and it makes a big difference. My biggest trigger is hot chocolate. Isn't that a strange one. :)

Upping the nicotine will help.

Also try cutting them out one at a time. I decided I was only going to smoke 3 times a day. once in the morning, once at noon and once at night. Before I knew it, I was skipping the noon one. then I decided to skip the morning one it helped to know I was still going to have one at night.

Not everyone stops right away. Some people have to cut back a bit before they put them down for good.

I don't know if I could smoke a cigarette now or not. I smoked for 40+ years, but by vape 2 day, I tried another cigarette and it tasted and smelled so terrible I could hardly stand it. Made me wonder how the heck I did it for all those years.
I guess everyone is really different. However, I did start out at 36mg nicotine and didn't have a single problem. Even now, almost 4 months in, I vape between 24-36mg. My goal was to quit smoking and it worked. I could care less when I taper off the nicotine. It will happen when it happens. As long as I stay off cigarettes, I'm winning, and that was and is my life long goal.

If you truly what to quit, it will happen. Think positve, don't doubt yourself, and don't let slip-ups hinder you....at all. Just get back in and vape again. When that urge to light up hits, vape like a crazed monkey with a nicotine level strong enough to curb that desire.
I wish you much success.:thumb:

PigCig is KR808D-1 based right? Not KR808D-2 like Greensmoke.

Try some other juices. If you are a non-menthol smoker you might want to try FreedomSMokeUSA Desert Ship - it is strong, nutty and a bit pungent Turkish blend and reminds me a bit of a freshly opened pack. Sometimes I would change it up with FSUSA Chocolate, Vanilla Tahity, oRYental 4 (sweet caramelly tobacco). That eventaully led me to being able to vape vanilla, chocolates etc alone. For the first 2 months I could not vape foody/fruity flavors alone - they left me feeling like I had eaten and craving an analog.

For something a bit lighter and more complex than Desert Ship you could try Backwoods Brew Casablanca (a complex Turkish blend with some cocoa) and sometimes I add a bit of FSUSA cocoa to make it darker and a bit meaner. Backwoods Nrew has a lot of other tobaccos people like.

Turkish blends are a bit funky but something about them reminded me of cigs and relaxed me. It might be a good juice to keep in a carto in case you get an analog craving.

Another thing I do is vape 2 PVs to keep it interesting during the day. I keep contrasting flavors in the two and pick up whichever I feel like.

My husband and I have been vaping for about a week and a half now. He's still struggling with letting regular cigarettes go, but i think thats mainly due to the fact that he's not vaping enough to equal the 10 smokes a day he was at. I was a 5 smoke a day person, so vaping is working amazingly well for me, i do get the rare craving for a regular cigarette but I compensate by dripping. It gives me more vapor and a slightly better buzz then cartridges or cartomizers. For my all day vape tho i stick with the carts, less throat irritation.

I hope you find your balance =D

Just noticed you said you started vaping about a month ago. Time to buy a new PV maybe? I swore I would not buy another in the first 30 days and I bought 2. I am glad I did though because I am now mostly vaping those two (with cartos). The drag and heat is different with each. My KR8 w/ Vapor4Life cartos is a bit hotter and less vapor, the 510 or 510 mega with standard boge soft cap cartos is a bit cooler and more vapory. And sometimes I drip on a DSE901 atty on the KR8 or a Joye 306 standard atty on the 510 (Ego could use the LR 306 attys many like)

Up your nic level to 24mg and maybe one bottle of 30-36mg for those "hard times." I still have a bottle of 36mg around for those "holy cow" days but I'm down to 18mg generally. Get yourself a better PV or even a variable volt mod like the Buzz, Infinity, or ProVari. Being able to control your juices is part of the battle. Also, you are still going through some withdrawal from all the other junk in cigs. It will pass but try not to add to it by smoking. When I quit, I quit. I don't ever want to go back.

I was 5 weeks into vaping when I had a complete melt down. Lost my mind. Not fun. We're detoxing from so many chemicals when we switch to vaping it's GOT to have some affect on us at some point, you know? No matter how much you up your nic, you still have to let the rest of those chemicals get out of your system and I know it's not easy. I did smoke when I felt myself getting to the point of insanity, but I tried to just have a couple of drags and put it out until the next intense craving (vaping inbetween). I did very well with that for almost a year, then I found a few liquids I could rotate long term (happily) and moved up to a 5 volt PV and I haven't felt the need for one since. It's a combination of detoxing from the other chemical (besides nic) and finding the satisfying vape we're all chasing. I wish you the best doing both of those things.
