Hi all,
So I have a 4 year old son that lives with me half of the week...
I basically wouldnt smoke analogs when he was staying with me (only after he would go to bed) and when he was staying with his mother sun-wed.

I found out about vaping which seemed like an incredible compromise, i could take a couple puffs in the bathroom every 2-4 hours. So everything is fine and dandy until he leaves to go to his mothers house.
At that point life will just not go on for me until i buy a pack of analog cigs, i smoke one it tastes awful, my cough comes back, i feel horrible about it but i continue to buy them week after week...

Any advice? I mean i know this is a psychological problem but i was just hoping someone could give me a different perspective on it...
Any tricks to help with the transition?

Also I bought the njoy 2n1 with the prefilled cartomizers (i think?)...
Ive heard pretty bad stuff about njoy so far on this forum, but not really anything about the 2n1s...
Are these decent, is there much better out there? I know they are more expensive than the juices but money is not a deal for me right now...

Thanks a lot,
Hoping to hear some success stories to inspire me :)

I used to smoke 6-8 analogs a day. It was difficult for me when I started vaping. My advice for you is to get nice tobacco flavors with high nicotine strength such as 24mg or 32mg for throat hit (TH). You could go for virginia from BWB which is a nice tobacco flavor with plenty TH. You'll find very good tobacco flavors(virginia,RY4,Blast,casablanca etc) from BWB and also from articvapor (turkish tobacco, cuban cigar) . I am sure you'll find the analog awful when you try this. Also you may not feel to try analog. You will feel analog very hard. I had similar experience. Now with even Marlboro lights I feel very hard. I did plenty research and found out 2 good ways which can come close to analogs.
1. Go for Boge LR cartos which are so good and affordable.
2. Go for cisco LR atty's from avidvaper for dripping. They've an offer 2 attys + drip tip for 20. This is the best vaping experience for me till now. They'll last you atleast a month.
Now I dont feel to try analog. Hope this will help

The nicotine level in your cartos may not be strong enough for you. I would also suggest getting a better kit, maybe a KR808D-1. It depends on how much you usually smoke per day. But, yes...there are much better kits out there for a LOT less money and you'll have an extremely wide range of flavors and juice vendors to choose from.

Uh, your vape, what does it taste like to you? Do you like it? If you loved the taste and the nic craving is taken care of, the switch is much easier.

It took me about 5 weeks trying juices on my standard Joye 510 before I found the juices that made cigs disgusting to even think about. And I discovered the taste that did that for me was the craziest sounding flavors that I ordered on a lark, for giggles.

So a better platform (hardware) might help, but the right juice WILL help. But you have to open your mind. Be ready to try something different. Be willing to vape those new juices.

If you vape when you can & smoke when you have to then, with the right juices, you may wake up one morning and discover you forgot to smoke the day before. Worked for me and a number of folks I know.

Thanks for the quick replies,
I guess the most important thing for me is for it to be easy to use..
Im worried that i would get frustrated by having to refill my carts with juice or clean out atomizers...
Right now i just screw the tip in and smoke, are there better products that are that easy to use?
I'm using njoys highest nicotine lvl product 1.8 nic by volume, not sure what mg that is..
And like i said before money is not a factor at all

Yea im not a huge fan of the way it tastes..
Juices are the way to go i guess, sounds like a mess...
How many puffs do you get when you fill a cart with juce?
Id rather less mess/work and more money, but if juice is my only other option i guess i could try it out

If you have the money, you can't really best a bottom fed mod...Phidias, Reo, Monkeyboxx, integrity, etc...

A rechargeable battery, LR atomizer, enough juice for at least a day.

Don't waste money on another starter kit.

Find a good juice supplier, there are a lot of them. You will be set!

Shaggy, I just made the switch on Saturday. I got the Joy EGO, with the XL Cartomizers. I fill a couple of the carts up and they last me a few days so far. I still crave the analogs, but I am fighting the urge. What is got me wanting the analogs is the flavors I ordered were more fruity and lacking the tobacco flavor. They just do not taste like what I was smoking before. I have ordered some more juice with tobacco flavor, I can always experiment with adding some of the fruity ones to it. I have only been doing this for a few days, but I think the key in making the switch and sticking to it, is finding that Juice that you like and want to Vape everyday. I really enjoy having my wife not being mad at me for smelling like an ashtray.

The main thing that is making me stick to this, my son is a freshman in High School and I really want to see him finish growing up, play with my grandkids and see him turn into the man I have raised him to be. If that is not a good enough reason, then not sure what is. Good luck in your journey, stick to it, That 4 yr old will be 14 and a freshman in a blink of an eye!!

Also,my suggestion would be to have a pack on hand, but before you smoke, vape until the urge leaves. I found after vaping for several months that a cigarette did not taste as good as vaping.

^ This.

Don't be discouraged either. Take your time. Some adjust right away, others not.

I used to stress if there wasn't a pack on hand. What I did was change up my smoking routine to make it more inconvenient than vaping. If you smoke indoors, make yourself walk outside. Then take your cigs and put them in one room and your lighter in another. Make it like it's more work to have one than pulling out the PV.

Some of it sounds like equipment and some sounds like not enough nic. Better equipment would help alot! There are some very reasonably priced PV units out there especially compared to a carton of smokes! Big battery Riva 510 can be had for $30 or the smaller joye 510 kits can be gotten for about $40 but for me the battery didn't last long enough on them for me! Some like the kr808 but I have no experience in that model! Honestly it takes probably less time to top off a cartridge with 2-4 drops every hour or so than it does to get the pack out ...lighter...light up and put it all back in your pocket!? Honestly not much mess with dripping some juice in a cart and not nearly the hassle as it may sound like! Also this route opens up so many flavor and nic strength options making it easier to customize the experience for you!

Also my buddy had trouble at 1st and part of it was habit! He followed some advice I seen on here! It went like this!
Your house and your rules! No smoking in the house...put the smokes in the car and if you want a smoke get dressed and go out and have 1...rain or shine....or vape in the house as often as you like! Put the ashtrays and smoking stuff away... out of sight out of mind! PV sitting where the ashtray/smokes would normally be! This is easier here in indiana with the crappy weather though LOL

You can do this it's just a matter of the right setup! Almost all of us got taken with inferior brands to start but honestly it was worth the wasted cash to quit the smokes and will save you thousands of dollars in the end! Look at my banner line for proof of that! (my banner line should be doubled that though as my wife quit also)

You have a fantastic support system right here with these great folks and limitless amount of experience and everyone here is happy to help! We all want you to succeed!
Good Luck to You!

One more question while we are rolling...
Since you guys named so many pvs can i give you a list of my priorities and you give me like my top 3 choices?
1. lots of vapor/throat hit
2. ease of use (not having to fill the carts with juice as often)
3. nic strength/flavor choices
4. most durable longest life atomizer/battery
5. how long battery holds a charge

You are already on the way to being a full time vaper: I can tell because you already recognize how nasty cigarettes taste.

Just try this (with 18-24mg cartos):

BEFORE you light up a smoke, take 10-15 minutes to chain-vape. IF you still want a cigarette after that, go ahead and have one. But if the vaping satisfies you enough, then don't. Do it every time that you want a smoke - even if it's only been 10 minutes since the last time.

Here's another one:

Next time you smoke a cigarette, do it with your e-cig in your other hand. Take a drag of the cigarette and really analyze the whole experience: what does it taste like? what does the smoke feel like in your lungs? what does it smell like? how does it make you feel when you exhale and all the smoke comes out? what is your favorite thing about it?

Now take a drag off your e-cig (remember; long slow easy deeeep inhales; into your mouth first and then into your lungs) and ask yourself all the same questions as with the smokes: how does it taste? how does the vapor feel in your lungs? how does it smell? how does it make you feel when the vapor comes out? Make up some of your own questions too.

The point of this exercise is to force you to confront a side-by-side comparison, you may find that your preference for 'real' cigarettes is more psychological than anything else and that if you compare them point-by-point, then you actually do prefer the e-cig. This'll help you emotionally to choose the e-cig over the smoky one next time.

Most importantly:

Don't beat yourself up. Big Tobacco worked long and hard to make the cigarette the most addictive drug device on earth. They've spent many years and many many dollars to ensure that you become addicted and won't be able to stop. It's not the nicotine that's doing it all alone, it's the other stuff they put in there to make the nicotine really do it's stuff - and it's all designed to keep you smoking.

It's not your fault that they are just really really good at their job.

eGo(or Riva510) battery with boge 510 cartomizers and your choice of juice from a good vendor
Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Riva 510
Electronic Cigarette - Cartomizers - Boge Cartomizers

Your choice of ohm's on the cartomizers:
510 2.0 Ohm - These produce hotter vaper and more of it, these can also change the flavour quite a bit (due to the heat), probably more suited to tobacco flavours. Throat hit is also increased.
510 3.0 Ohm - A cooler, mellow vape, ideally suited to sweeter flavours like fruits.

Bottom feeders with a bottle of juice eliminates running out for quite awhile. I have a 3.7 bottom feeder mod with 1 battery and it will last for 6-8 hours I believe. It has a 3ml bottle and it also last quite awhile, depending on how much you vape.
Good luck.:thumb:

My thoughts exactly...I defer to my earlier post...easy peasy...

I agree with all who advised a good tobacco flavor. That was a lifesaver for me in the beginning. AND, I sucked on my Inferno like a baby bottle. It was amazing how after a couple of days I was horribly sick of the tobacco, ready to move on to something with flavor.

I also made a point of not keeping them in the house. The one time there was some around this weekend, I smoked. Grossed me out, but I did it anyway.
