The 2-piece njoy is OK - it's an RN4081. IMO its main downside is automatic batteries do not give as consistent a hit as manuals. Autos are also more prone to failure from juice leaks.

What kind of cigarettes do you smoke and what nicotine level are you using?

You might want to get a stronger PV for after the child leaves - maybe an Ego or something that would satisfy your urge to buy the pack? With an Ego you have a wide selection of cartos including low resistance ones that can give a bigegr hotter hit.

Seriously, forget the starter kits.

If you have the $...get a juice fed box mod. You can thank me later.

I think the juice box mod is great as a full time vape IF YOU have a good strong back up e-cig too. If the juice box breaks you are SOL, unless you have another e-cig to go to while it's being fixed. ....and I don't think the 4081 is going to satisfy after using the juice box mod. jUst my opinion.

Don't forget that it takes a lot more use of your pv to get the same nic (even with 36mg which is what I'm using). I found that if there was a time that I know of where i have issues and wasn't getting enough nic I'd hit my pv hard before that time...like when getting into the car after work...I'd bug for a smoke....if I'd start 10 minutes before I left work I found the cravings went away.

Agreed. Get the Riva 510 and mostly 24mg and some 18mg nicotine strength liquid. Cartomizers are a little less hassle in you don't have to top off quite as much. Liberty Flights.com is a good choice as a supplier with their 20% off deal. Their "Home Counties" is a nice smooth tobacco flavor.

Note: vaping is less efficient in getting nicotine into your system than smoking. Thus, why so many vape 24mg strength liquid and many even 36mg liquid. Plus higher nic. strength gives better throat hit along with warmer vapor from bigger batteries.

So, even though I'm a newbie I have a couple of recommendations.

First, on the cravings:

I am having this same problem but just don't worry about it. Take it slow. What I'm doing is trying to cut back one or two cigarettes at a time on the days you would smoke. If you smoke a pack a day on those days try cutting back to like 18 for a couple of days then to 16 and so on. I've gone from 30 a day down to about 12-15 a day this way so far. Any time I crave a cigarette now I vape a while first and if it doesn't go away I go ahead and have one. Initially what I did was this. I smoked about 30 a day so I figured I'm having one approximately every 30 minutes. To cut back to 25. So I did the math, I looked at how long I'm usually awake let's say 16 hours for this and figured at 25 it would be one around every 40 minutes. So I set a recurring alarm on my cell phone and no matter what wouldn't have a cigarette until that time had expired. This allowed me to monitor exactly how much I smoked and I would vape in between. Every couple days I dropped a few more cigarettes and recalculated the time.

On the equipment:

I don't know much about the mods people are recommending so I can't really comment. Ease of use has been important to me and I have always assumed that with a mod more things are likely to go wrong. I started witha basic eGo but have since switched to the eGo-T system. I fill three tanks every night before bed and that usually gets me through the day. This gives you only one time a day where you're dealing with it. It takes me about two minutes to do this including washing my hands and everything. Battery life has been great, I go through about one battery a day at the most. If you do go this way I would suggest you buy plenty(maybe a set of ten tanks) of tanks as I've had some minor problems with the tanks.

3. nic strength/flavor choices

You name it, it exists pretty much. Don't be afraid to try out flavors/different vendors. Some will even offer different mixes which can affect the TH, Flavor, or vapor production. Sometimes it may take a bit before you come across something that you can't live without. (For me it's chocolate fudge bavarian cream).

It's best to have a few different strengths. I started with 24mg and 18mg and sometimes used the two together to get more of a middle ground. Everyone is different though, some need more or less, so you have to pay attention to the signals your body is giving you to decide what is and isn't working.

The thing to keep in mind with flavors is they can change. Some get better with age and actually need to steep. Others might be better right from the start and get more intense or blended over time. There will come a time where your taste buds will decide to go on vacation or just make things taste icky for awhile. Don't worry, just keep hydrated, take vitamins with zinc and wait it out.

Also be prepared for when your sense of smell comes back into full gear as this can be both a blessing and a curse. 8-o

It is actually the exact opposite most of the time. Most better battery PV's have less issues, vape much better and are much more consistent. There are exceptions but there is a reason why those who use better PV's have a higher satisfaction level.

It's also the reason why people spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars on starter kits & accessories before they finally spring for a mod & then kick themselves for not having spent the extra money in the first place.

My Riva & KR8 are fine devices, but they don't compare to my Phidias for daily use, or the ProVari for the VV experience.

Go sell somebody else another eGo...I'd like to save a newb today!

eGo(or Riva510) battery with boge 510 cartomizers and your choice of juice from a good vendor
Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Riva 510
Electronic Cigarette - Cartomizers - Boge Cartomizers

Your choice of ohm's on the cartomizers:
510 2.0 Ohm - These produce hotter vaper and more of it, these can also change the flavour quite a bit (due to the heat), probably more suited to tobacco flavours. Throat hit is also increased.
510 3.0 Ohm - A cooler, mellow vape, ideally suited to sweeter flavours like fruits.

I looked up the riva 510, it said the atomizers fail a good bit and i should load up on them?
How often do they die on avg?
And the boge cartomizers are an atomizer and cartridge in one, but the cartridges are empty right?

and what is a mod?

The only thing I would add on top of all these other suggestions is be sure you always have at least one extra atty on hand. I've gone back to analogues a few times, and it was because I was dumb/cheap and didn't stock up on attys. So one would burn out on me or start to taste like crap even after thorough cleaning and I'd order another one, but would be back on my marb 27s before it arrived.

The other problem I have is with drinking and vaping. Any other time I much prefer my PV over analogues, but when I'm out at a bar or party, I need an analogue. The PV, no matter how thick I get the vapor or how strong the throat hit, just doesn't satisfy. My guess is its mostly psychological, as I started smoking mainly when I drank. Anyone else have this issue?

I agree completely. So often niche forums like this are filled with self-important .......s who aren't noob friendly. I guess we're all in this together though, and if we don't branch out and recruit new people to vaping, then the FDA will win.

Tee four I dont have that issue but only because I havent been confronted with it yet, I am a newbie and so far havent had an analog..but havent been out for a night of drinking yet and HAVE worried that Im going to go back to the dreaded analog..even for a night.!

Be strong! One good thing is that your PV will attract attention from others. So if you're out with a smoking friend who you know doesn't have mono and you feel your will power breaking, trade a drag for a drag (a few times =P). Usually that will take care of my craving, and the next day you'll still be on the PV no problem. Get some awesome flavors too, and you'll find yourself preferring your e-cig.

Thanks so much guys!
I think im leaning towards the Phidias Woodimus and my njoy as a backup...
Any problems with this one that i should know about?
I was amazed at how much vapor this guy blew out in a video i was watching...
Id like to go ahead and load up on whatever i need when i purchase it, how many atomizers batteries what kind of juice etc?
And i smoke Marlboros, any recommendations for a tobacco flavor close to the same taste as well as a good vendor?
