I think a problem might be that some people are screwing their rda's down too far causing damage to the 510 and causing the seal to break. It's not a spring loaded 510. Most of my rda's when screwing them on will hit the bottom of the 510 before sitting flush with the mod. I use a thin washer between the mod and atty as to not allow the rda to force and damage the 510. I think forcing it all the way down will cause possible leaking.

I found it in this thread here but maybe he got a dud? I think it leaks...: FastTech Forums
Hmm. That might be what happened to mine before it fried and died. I didn’t notice any excess eliquid anywhere, though.

Just got a replacement Aurora yesterday. Unfortunately they sent a sliver one instead of the red color that I really liked, but I won it in a contest, so “oh well...”

Hcigar might end up regretting its decision not to use a spring-loaded 510 assembly in this mod. Guess I should use the RDA with the shortest 510 connector I have, which is a NarDa clone.

You could simply use a piece of plastic and cut it to the diameter of the RDA with a hole for the 510 to take up the gap. On one of my RDA's I cut an old credit card. The gap was that big.

Yeah, I probably should do that. I have a 10 pack of those 22mm atty spacers in my FT cart, but haven’t pulled the trigger yet - still debating between the Ammit and the Haku Venna RDAs.

I hear reports of the Aurora leaking at the 510 so I'm still a bit hesitant.

I have an Aurora that leaks. It must be at the 510 since the juice seeps out the bottom from behind the plastic battery adapter. I'm pretty experienced with mods and definitely do not crank the atty down tightly. But whatever I've done, it was too much for this mod to handle. I've considered getting another, as I like the fact it holds 21700s, but it's bulky and uncomfortable enough to hold that I'll probably get something else. I've been liking the looks of the Desire Cut.

Those POM Spacers are Very Handy to have around. And 3 or 4 of my RDA's/RTA's have them under them Right Now.

I have the desire and I absolutely love it. It is a tad larger than I would like, but it is a great squonk mod. I don't regret my purchase at all

I think I am gonna pass on the Aurora. Thanks all for your input. I may get that pico depending on how others feel after they have had theirs for a bit. I mean, it's not like I NEED another mod or anything lol

I just ordered the Pico Squeeze 2 and I think one or two people have received theirs or will be soon. From the reviews I’ve read it seemed like a perfect first time squonk.

I'm a big fan of the Desire Cut too. It and the Pulse 80w are in my daily rotation, then in addition whatever mod I'm currently trying out. Usually only keep two mods in the rotation plus a tester mod. The Pulse and Cut have been the regulars since I got them.

It is a bit heavy, but the oblong shape makes it very comfortable to hold. I'm a lefty, it's perfect for me. Fires fast, durable finish, no leaks yet.

A lot of folks think the Cut looks ugly, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I've got the Sub Ohm Edition from VaporDNA. Black, and some of the Desire branding is replaced with the Sub Ohm Edition branding.

Overall it's a great mod, I would buy it again.

Interesting. I too noticed when I first got the Aurora, that several RDAs I own, bottom out on screwing it down, well before they sit flush. In my case, the Recurve is one of those, it seems to have a slightly longer 510 pin than many others I have.

I've used the Nudge on mine for the most part, no leaking yet. The Nudge doesn't have a very long 510 though compared to the Recurve.

I'll bet you are right though, screwing an atty down until it is flush might be causing the leaking. Depending on the 510 pin length of course.

Kind of a shame that one needs to use a spacer to avoid this issue. That is, if that's what really is causing the leaking for folks. It seems like the usable 510 depth on the Aurora is pretty shallow then. I noticed when I first got it, that you really had to crank down an RDA, sometimes a good number of turns. If this is the case, I will have to buy some spacers somewhere. Anything I try to cut to use as a spacer is going to look like crap, lol.

Oh! My bad, the one I have is also the Vapordna one. The project sub ohm. I'm a lefty also. (well for the most part anyway) I just write with my right hand. I'm old as dirt and when I went to school if they saw you using your left hand to hold the pencil, they kept switching it over to your right hand. Those Bast@#%'s! LOL

I’ve read most of this thread just now, took awhile to get to the point where you actually had the mod, lol, I’ve got a question for you Aurora users. I just got into squonking with a Pico Squeeze 2 and I’m loving it. I’ve been buying up rda’s left and right and I need another mod to screw them into. Should I get the Hcigar Aurora for my next squonker or just get another Squeeze? I like the looks of the Hcigar I’m just wondering how you folks are liking it after using it. Especially you folks that got both the Squeeze and the Aurora, which you like better? Anyway just looking for some opinions from my fellow squonkers. I appreciate any guidance you can provide.
