I've been following this thread since I did order a red one before reading it. Received it yesterday and it does have a slight gap that is only noticeable if I hold it up to the light but otherwise it can't be seen. It's a beautiful deep red.

I am a little disappointed because I can't use a P3 threaded Kabuki using a P3/510 adapter on it. This tank is SS with the same deep red glass... it would have been a great combo. :(

No problem with other 510 threaded devices though... bummer!

Any suggestions for tanks to use with this? I do have a Serpent mini but haven't tried my hand with building yet.

Right now, it's just sitting in the box. :(

Thanks for any help. :)
I think a SS Aromamizer Supreme with the optional Red glass would like nice. They are on FT for ~$30 atm (the Red glass is an extra $2). I really like the Supreme, it's my favorite RTA.

I just wrote to HCigar so we'll see what they have to say. I just watched the VapnFagan review and he mentions getting shocked from the battery cover when the set screw is not tight. I have not experienced this but I hope HCigar takes notice.
Over a week and no reply. Anyone have experience contacting HCigar? Are they ignoring me, or perhaps they're researching a response?

Thanks for the suggestion! This will go on my "to order" list! :thumb:

Have to get ready for the vapepocolypse.
Giving it a little more thought. The Black Aromamizer Supreme with the Red glass might look even better (it's about $3 more iirc). I'm not sure if you prefer SS atomizers, but it's just a thought.

Cheers,
Steve

You're right! That would definitely be a better match!

I guess I'm just being a girl but I DO love great color coordination.

My OCD isn't gonna be able to handle any gaps  If I drop more then $90 on a mod it better be perfect
I have been using mine for about 2 weeks now. It is the black mod and I have no gaps anywhere. Just a beautiful working mod that works great similar to my Wismec DNA200 but a little smaller using it with AWT 26650 batteries which give me a full day of vaping. At first I used my 18650's and that was fine too. I will soon be looking at a red one to add to my collection. It works well with my 25mm Griffin and also with the Aromanizer Supreme.

There are a few deals out there for around $80.
US Shipper: HCigar VT75 DNA 75 Box Mod $79.79 - Cheap Vaping Deals

Check the deals before ordering, they may have expired. Or wait for 4th of July sales which I am sure will be available.

I'm really partial to my GeekVape RTAs. I have posted pictures in this thread with my black rta25 sporting the replacement red glass and I think it looks great. I am also a fan of the Avacado 24. Two of each pretty much own my rta rotation. For RDA's I am expecting my Tsunami24 should be in my mailbox today and I've been happy with a Velocity RDA for a lllloooonnnngggg time.
Finally got my replacement glass for the one I cracked like a nub.

Finally received a reply after re-sending my original email, this time I cc'd admin@hcigar.com
Hi,
sorry to reply later, you can try to remove the screw and take off the C frame, you can see it, very easy to take off,
Then try to correction, if still the same problem, I'll send you a new C frame replacement.

Best Regards

Got the Ecig tracking number a few minutes ago (shouldn't have been impatient and ordered early Saturday morning ;) ) so it should be rollin' West by tomorrow. And when did he open a warehouse in Oklahoma?
---

Anyway... bit of a favor to ask.

Basically... what's the efficient way to get up and running. What should be done, what needs to be done (especially as I have singles from Samsung, LG and now an Efest 26650 I included just for grins). I don't mean custom logos, though remembering to set the display while charging to something other than zero is a good tip I've read a few times. :p

It will be tempting to "grip it and rip it", but it might be better to take the time to have it well set-up first.

Battery analyzer, case res/thermal analyzer(s), wire types and user pre-sets, etc.
Finding WHr values elsewhere for different 18650/26650s, changing between them, etc.

What needs to be done... and what should be done.

If a procedure has been written, or I missed it in this thread... a link would do just fine.
(I've read Wingsfan's write-up for the 200, but that gets into later customization more than initial set-up. And I'm not even sure yet what differences there are between the Evolv chip sets.)

Hi Jim,

I don't have the VT75 (no DNA75's yet :( - still waiting on the release of the Lavabox 75 before I do anything). The reason I mentioned not having one because it's my understanding you can't just enter the Watt Hours like you can on the DNA200's. I think the only way is to actually run the battery analyzer. I would always suggest entering the mods resistance (especially when running TC), and running the case thermals. (Mod resistance for my other Hcigar mods is .004-.005 ohms).

Here's a link to Escribe that can be used on both the 75 and 200:
SetupES_2016-05-06_DNA75.exe <- This link will download the latest version.

Other than that, maybe someone who actually has one can be of more help. Good luck, I hope you enjoy your mew mod!

Cheers,
Steve

I would say to use the link in the above to download the Escribe software. Under the mod option select 18650 regardless if your using an 18650 or 26650. The battery analyzer is a mute point as from what they(DNA Forums) told me that the software is not developed enough for that to make a difference. So to get up and running just make sure your wattage, temp, are setup correctly. The presets are actually pretty spot on right out of the box. The only other thing I will bring up is the pre-heat settings. If you get a weak battery display still at a good battery % it is due to the battery drop from a wattage pre-heat. Lower the pre-heat setting and fire it back up. Make sure also to set the cut-off to the correct voltage for the battery your using. You could set it to 3V if you want to be safe for most 1860s.

You've already shown that substantial differences are possible, perhaps likely.
(and what's with the new "programmable" fire button LED)

An actual "broad strokes" step-by-step would, I think, be valuable for us DNA newbs. It exists, or we'll get one made.

At least (in the 133 thread "over there") you've taken some personal responsibility for sucking us into this new world. :p

But I could have sworn that you already had the 75w as well.

Odd that batt analyzer would have issues in the 75w version.
But I'd read about the pre-heat setting issue on the Evolv forum (and about the cut-off value)... some complaint about battery performance/longevity. No... you cannot bang a single cell that hard... all the time. :p

Sounds like a good bullet point for the procedure. :D

Hi Sammy,

It looks like there is a test firmware out for the DNA75. I don't think this one is a standalone installer though. I think you already have to have the version installed from the first link. Here's what Evolv has to say about it:

"*TESTING*
2016-06-05
Just the firmware file for now -- you can update to it using Tools->Update Firmware.
https://www.dimensionengineering.com/software/DNA_75_2016-06-05.sw-update

It's a small change: some batteries can't push 75W, and more can't when they get to a low state of charge. Even when your power levels are 20W or so, for temperature protected coils you get a 75W preheat. So, we've reduced the aggressiveness of the Weak Battery warning to reflect the reality of the puff, not the preheat.

Weak Battery now takes about a second to appear. It also does the less-annoying thing of flashing the battery icon, instead of flashing a message obscuring the screen."
Here's the link

Thanks Steve.

Thanks for the kind words Jim. That 133 thread has been a lot of fun for me. I had ordered a VT75 but the Red was sold out so I ended up canceling. I then heard about the upcoming Lavabox 75. So untrue to form, I'm trying to be patient :D. I would like to get my hands on one so I actually know what I'm talking about :). I guess my subtle hint that I was available as a beta tester was too subtle lol.:lol:

Cheers,
Steve

I need lessons.
I avoided the DNA topic since Dec/Jan... then re-opened that VT133 thread Friday night.

Time from that to pulling the trigger on the VT75 (looking for a 133w deal)... six hours.

:p

eta: just checked... Ecig used Priority 3-Day and USPS has the goods. Woot!

Thanks WF. I'll hold off for the next release. I am not big on beta builds and mine is vaping fantastic so no reason to upgrade for now. Great info though.
