Well I'm curious ?? Has anybody had any health problems from vaping ?? I know it has sure helped me cut back on smoking cigs !! And I don't feel gross after I do, I have read a lot of things on line about how the "might" not be safe for a person to use , if so they would be still be a lot safer than regular smokes ?? And really anything but air isn't really good for you anyway.z to me it just sound like big company tobacco doesn't like its hand being slapped by people wanting to give smoking up ... So they put out a bunch of scare mongering to keep you smoking ..

No health problems so far, I'm breathing easier and able to run faster (even leap tall buildings in a single bound!).

Might not be safe...I bet they're safer than burning tobacco and inhaling the smoke.

Propaganda. Big tobacco, big Pharma and the Gov don't like it. Directly impacts big tobacco, cuts into big Pharma profits and the gov hates anything they can't get their finger into.

Trust your body. The longer you're without burning tobacco the better off you are. :vapor:

Is having whiter teeth a health problem? Maybe for my dentist's checkbook.

Seriously, no health issues at all. I had headaches all the time from the NFC paper on cigarettes, wheezed when I went to bed, smelled like a bonfire all the time and constantly had to spray Febreeze in the car which also gives me headaches, always had residue in my eyes, and other sinus/allergy issues that have all disappeared since I quit smoking July 21st, 2013. I also haven't had to take an allergy pill since then and only a few ibuprofen for my rheumatism. Giving up cigarettes didn't help that but it didn't make it any worse.

Scratchy throat from chain vaping or too high PG, maybe but it goes away as soon as I take a couple swallows of any liquid. That's the only negative thing I can report.

Some people may be allergic to the PG or flavorings, possibly even VG but that is a possibility with almost any substance.

I really don't understand how anyone could think e-cigarettes/personal vaporizers are scarier than analogs. How on earth do they ever manage to get out of bed every day if a simple device like an e-cigarette scares them so badly much less brush their teeth with toxic chemicals, take a shower and use soap/shampoo with even more toxic chemicals, then apply toxic hair products, deodorant, makeup, cologne & perfume? I forgot about the toxic residue in the detergent & fabric softener on their sheets, pillowcases & clothes.

yes vaping has plagued me with multiple health problems ! Thank you for asking and caring.

I'm now cursed with the ability to walk more than 100 ft, so now I can't simply opt out of walking with someone by saying I can't. You can not believe how big a problem this has become. causing foot pain, soreness, and unwanted exercise

One huge problem is the regained sense of smell, no longer can I wander the city completely unaware of the urban stench, that now suddenly accosts me at every turn. Even a nice walk along the beach wetlands is now spoiled by the smell of rotting vegetation and stagnant water.

My biggest health problem brought on by vaping, undoubtedly is Taste! OMG if I had only known how bad this would affect me, and those around me. No honey I love your cooking, its just I cant stand the taste now... Those pot lucks at the office that were once pleasant have turned into a minefield. Places I used the frequent now message to ask if I'm ok....

then there are the worrisome issues:
a. This false sense of wellbeing which certainly demonstrates I'm being misled or misleading myself
b. The huge lung capacity, humans were never meant to breathe this much contaminated air
c. Not coughing, we all know that Coughing is the body's way of removing foreign material from the lungs - so all that stuff is stuck since I don't cough
d. The negative effects vaping has had on my ability to budget - before I was sane, I simply bought a carton every 5 days - Now well I'm all over the map, buy here there, no self control
e. vaping has caused me to become a workaholic, no longer do I walk away for "breaks" thus creating unwanted productivity and time to do more work. this is completely unacceptable, but unavoidable.

The truly insidious aspect of this issue is that many, if not most, of the symptoms that people develop when they switch to vaping are actually caused by their quitting cigarettes. But since the absence of an activity is less notable in our subjective perception than the sudden appearance of a new activity, people are prone to blame the vapor:

"Am I using too much nicotine? Too much PG? Too much VG?" Or, worse: "OMG the alarmist media reports were right! Vaping is the tool of TEH DEBBIL!"

And since everyone's physiology is different, there's a whole laundry list of unpleasant side effects that may or may not affect you in the weeks after you've quit smoking, ranging from the minor to the truly excruciating, which means that everyone will have a different answer, a different reaction -- ranging from incredulity to teary-eyed sympathy -- to the piteous cries of those who ask whether what they're experiencing is normal.

It's a confusing mess, in short.

There is a lot of junk science floating around on the net and the media about vaping. Have a look at the CASAA site here. Lots of good, factual information there.

To my knowledge no one has ever become ill from vaping. There are numerous symptoms people can get when we quit smoking and also when we take up vaping. There's a great post on those here:

A list of symptoms when quitting tobacco and changing to an ecigarette.

Best of luck with it :thumb:

I'm convinced that a significant percentage of people who think they have a sensitivity to PG actually do not.

 at some of the answers,,,,,,,

I am not bright enough to come up with some good come backs to some of these

I feel better, breathe better, get many fewer colds (and the ones I have had are much milder than when I smoked),,,,,

the only thing I can think of is that I HAVE gained weight,,,,,,,,,,ugh. However, that is more likely from having quit smoking than from vaping itself. And the doctor told me that I'm better off (health wise) with the extra weight than the smoking.

I went to vaping in September after not having cigarettes for 3 years. The cravings came back out of nowhere so instead of smoking again I took up vaping. I can tell you I feel no different than when I was only breathing fresh air, except now my nicotine cravings are completely gone and I find such enjoyment in vaping.

Phil, I realized from your post that you weren't trolling and don't have an issue with your comment/questions. All of us at ECF and elsewhere that vape are constantly tossing out facts in an effort to counter-act the barrage of negative propaganda that seems to pop out of nowhere for no reason. The more we talk facts and the more confident we are when we do it can only help us and those who someday hope to join us in being tobacco free. (even though they may not yet know it)

I for one, pray for the day that more comprehensive studies are successfully completed clearing the air over second hand vapor and proving how much less of a hazard e-cigs are than tobacco. I can hear it now...'but it's for the children!'. :vapor:

Phil, I don't think anyone responding was poking at you in anyway. They were making fun of the outlandish scare tactics used by ANTZ and others to demonize vaping.
Actually, congrats on coming here and asking those that would know the best, the long time vapors, they are the true experts.
Hell, I wouldn't expect someone that never had a drink of alcohol to be able to truthfully tell me how a hangover feels! Now if anyone needs advise on that, I'm open to questions after the football games today.

Vagabond...........you have inspired (scared) me into staying in bed all day and vaping while watching football, just to be safe, thanks, now I have to show my wife your post and hope she understands.:)

Umm, a good bit of what you read in the responses is just long term vaper's humor.... We're smoke free without nicotine fits, it's a strange state of being and our humor may sometimes leave something to be desired. We're having fun and are happy with our new better health...Vape On..:vapor:
