You should check this thread out http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...63-reals-time-2012-ecf-juice-year-awards.html
It tells you the most voted e liquids in categories. HHV seems to be the most voted vendor. I would suggest getting a different flavor from them. I have used Legend aka shadow fax and I hated it at first but a few days into it I started to love it. Some flavors take time to get used to. Hope this helped.

Not to pick nits, but Legend is the juice formerly known as Gandalf and Shadowfax was re-branded as Shadow. I'm not trying to single you out or bust chops, just clarifying for other readers that aren't familiar with HHV's line-up. :toast:

On a side note, I have noticed on more than one occasion (not just this thread) that some people seemed to feel slighted or get offended if someone sounds off that they don't like a particular juice. I think it goes without saying that, when you take the time to log on, start a thread, and type out a paragraph or two expressing your like or dislike of a juice, you are expressing your own opinion. There should really be no formal need to add any disclaimer to your post that states "this is merely my opinion" because of course it is only the poster's opinion. We all already know that everyone's palate is different, we all already know that our taste buds go through multiple changes after we put down the cigarettes, we all already know that the delivery system of said juices can make all the difference, and we all already know that there are seemingly infinite different makes and brands of attys/cartos/tanks that can be paired to seemingly infinite different batteries or mods. All of these things play a part in the user's perception of a juice once they vape it.

It is never a bad thing for someone to offer up information based upon their particular experience with a vendor, a product, or a juice...be it a positive or negative experience. It is incumbent upon us as the consumers and users of these vaping products to provide all the feedback possible to one another (and to the vendors) about our vaping experience - it's the only way we will see advancement, improvement, and the overall evolution of these products.

Sorry for the somewhat rant. Happy vaping, everyone! :vapor:

To be honest, most of their tobacco's taste like tea to me. I've let them steep for about 6 weeks now and I'm still not impressed. Dragon's fire, Legend, Shadow and Heavenly army were the ones I bought. I like Legend and Shadow best but I absolutely don't love them. They all taste kind of similar to me. Nothing is as subjective as taste, as I bought them because of their rant reviews. So I guess they must taste great to lots of people. Just not to me :confused:/

I had a similar experience with all of those (plus Serendipity) when I first got them, except I tasted cocoa in all of them instead of tea. It took a while and some patience, but eventually after a good month's steep I could start to discern between them all. I have experienced with just about all tobacco-based juices from just about all vendors that they require a good, long steep to really come into their own.

I wasn't blown away by HHV either. However I think the tastes just were not for me. I have tasted Black and Blue, Legend and Sludge. Just not my cup of tea. But I still plan on trying Shadow and Serendipity.

You may find that Shadow and Serendipity taste very similar to Legend (I know I did) but after a long month+ steep they began to take on characters of their own. I've really grown to enjoy 'Dipity.

I have a handful of HHV just show up the other day, I dripped about half of them and they were ok, nothing to write home about. They are steeping now..hopefully they are good because trying to find my ADV has been killing me..I may just go back to vaping all menthol again. My order consisted of Dragon's Fire, Heavenly Army, Huntsman, Blade, Shadow and Legend. 15ML except for Heavenly Army and Legend.

I just got my first order from HHV a couple of days ago and I must say that the juices smell and taste exactly like their real-world counterparts would - for someone looking for a candied butter rum or a soft, bakery type vanilla, these might not be the best choices.
<snip>

This was actually helpful because it made me realize that I like 'candied' butter rum (like a lifesaver), not 'butter rum'.

So does anyone have any suggestions for 'candied butter rum'??? :)

15ml sizes require steeping. For my tastes, Shadow was great after the initial cap off. Dragon's Fire at 3 weeks, is finally turning the same color as my older bottles. But then all of those are 50ml sizes.

I've been thinking about this thread and really the only thing that I can say is, yes there are fan boys. Hey, I'm definitely one. I truly feel that we are just trying figure out how to help, help being the key word here, the OP find the same enjoyment we experience. Granted, those two flavors are not what I would've suggested as a starting point.

HHV has a sub forum, here on ECF, and people that are more than willing to listen to your likes and flavors that you've had from other vendors. Then help steer you towards something that is more in line of what you would end up enjoying, we hope. No one likes to hear that a flavor was garbage disposal worthy. I'm sorry that you got something that wasn't suited for you. We've all been there.

I would rather see threads that are more like: I'm trying to decide what to order. I like (examples) what from (vendor/s) would be your recommendation?

I'm not bashing the OP for not liking HHV. I don't like everything they have either. Don't get me started on Sludge :glare:  There are those that Love the stuff. Guess what? That's OK! OP, if you want to consider trying HHV again, ask for recommendations based on what your preference is and what you're looking for. I'm sure you will get help. If you don't want to try HHV again, that's fine also. Truly, the hardest part of vaping is the liquids and finding ones that satisfy.

I've found that if you buy into the hype on any juice you're going to be disappointed. Happened to me with HHV's legend (really all her flavors I've tried, actually), and more recently with Boba's. They're not bad by any means (HHV's dragon's fire has since grown on me, and boba's is starting to), but really if you expect any juice to be some sort of orgasm of flavor, you're bound to wind up at least a little bit disappointed. I find it's best to stay, as GrimmGreen put it, "skeptically optimistic" when trying a new juice that everyone seems to love.

My first order with HHV was for Tuscan Cocoa, Crackberry, and Heavenly Vanilla. I would reorder the first two but not the Vanilla. Tried it then let it steep for a week. Tried it again and and then put it in my PIF pile. I think there was a slight hint of vanilla in there somewhere but it was faint and just bleh.

I know I'm repeating what many others have said, but it would be wise not to judge from just those 2 juices.
Now it could very well be that HHV just isn't for you.
On the other hand, there could be plenty of their juices you might totally love and will miss out on b/c you dismissed the vendor prematurely.

Vanilla dream and PB cookie were the 1st HHV juices I tried. Very disappointing. I also got Legend and Shadow in that order however and when I tested those I was definitely impressed.
Note that I have bought a LOT of juice in 5-1/2 months I've been vaping, much of it highly hyped, and have been decidedly UNimpressed by the overwhelming majority of it.
I've tried nearly half of HHV's juices at this point, and I've disliked some nearly as much as I love others.

I may sound like a fanboi in this post, but it's really not about that.
It's just that I don't know WHAT the hell I'd be vaping right now, or if I even would have stuck with it if I'd given up after 2 juices.

IMO, most of HHV's best juices are in the Purity line. Tobaccos are their biggest strength, followed by fruit juices. So at least try their best before throwing in the towel.

i just tried HHV for the first time- got the sample pack, what a great idea & bargain, $10 cant beat it. i got Atomic Grasshopper, Tuscan Cocoa, P'nut butter cookie, and Crackberry

atomic grasshopper is good, wow strong mint, i like =)
tuscan cocoa i think is amazing, one might even say 'heavenly'. =D beautiful dry cocoa taste.
p'nut butter cookie- every peanut butter vape ive ever tried tastes like fresh roasted peanuts, and not like peanut butter. meh. i want that almost fake tasting JIF creamy peanut butter. havent found it yet.
crackberry- i seem to be one of those people who just doesnt have an affinity for fruit vapes, for some reason i just dont enjoy em. this vape was not bad at all, i just dont get even remotely excited about fruit.

the most important thing to me was that these juices were even tolerable- seems i have a fairly picky palate, many juices taste like chemical plastic nastiness to me. and those same horrible juices turn out to be other folk's favorite. what a strange thing.

Have you tried the Peanut Butter Cookie from Parkes Vaping? If not, I would definitely recommend it. It tastes just like a peanut butter cookie to me and many others!

Meh let it steep longer. It is one thing if you don't like the flavor itself, but if it is tasting funky like alcohol, it is a sign that some age will do it good

I enjoy everclear straight up so the alcohol smell wasn't just strong it was sickening. Had I even got that smell near my wife she would have almost certainly considered giving up her efforts to use e-cigs.

I could have left it sit sure but wasn't worth the time especially after a week. At least in my experience, YMMV.

Also, if one just started vaping, like say less then three months ago, all bets are off, and it really takes time to get those buds working properly again.

Absolutely agree I have to continually remind the wife of that as she is still transitioning from the analogs. Though on the other hand I've been vaping since 2009 and my taste buds are the excitement in my life :D

Thank you to everyone who took the time to stop in and offer their thoughts! I always manage to learn something new around here.
