its nice to see that people on here are like an extended family and always willing to help when someone needs it .... im not gonna lie today has been tough im missing the feeling of an analog burning between my fingers .... i know this will pass as will the detox symptoms

Indeed they will. But this is a great place, both for information and moral support. Stick with it, it'll pass sooner than you know.

Just like I say all those food preservatives are preserving our bodies!

Well, that stands to reason. We're all food to something. :)

so im noticing ... i think part of my tight chest problems are using my PV too much .... i can't seem to put it down

Oh yes, the novelty is a big factor, or it was for me anyway. I couldn't get over how great it was, how well it worked, so I vaped a lot. However I did also discover that a part of the reason I vaped so much was because I wasn't vaping liquid that was strong enough; what I lacked in satisfaction I made up or in volume. Once I bumped my nic level up a notch everything was awesome. I never had any chest tightness or anything, but that can be from a bunch of things, from vaping too much to detox symptoms or using a liquid with too much VG in it. (I can't vape pure VG myself, too dense and makes me cough.) There's always an adjustment period for new things and your body's going through a pretty big adjustment, so it just takes a little time and a little powering through the side effects and then you'll be in the clear. Or as clear as it gets through an epic cloud of vapor. :)

1) It takes time to adjust
2) I use Johnson Creek stuff and it really helped me with my sinuses/throat so I encourage you to look to whatever juice that is mild for your body from any company after you vape a bit; all juice is not the same to everyone
3) I've vaped JC 100% VG juice in a carto with no problem--I don't like 100% VG :). And like Dormouse said it may decrease carto life over time but it's not a problem in Bloog cartos anyway...
4) Hang in there

** Like me, you may vape 24/7 if you're not careful. The SMART thing is to set your habits now. If you want to vape periodically like a cig then get a higher nic juice and set your battery aside and just take breaks. If you want to vape 24/7 like me then get lower nic juices... It's nic/time not just total nicotine. 20 baby hits of 6mg in 30min>>>>2 hits of 24 mg on your porch in 30min.

A lot of people can't put the PV down

The solutions are things like

- putting the ecig in another room and walking there to vape (not keeping it next to you unless you will be stuck somewhere longer than 20 minutes)

- buying lower nic juice, even real low like 6mg - you don't have to use it all the time - just use it when you are vaping too much. I actually use multiple ecigs and one always has a carto with 0mg on it. If I am vaping too much, then I make myself grab that one more.

- use juice with some VG in it if you are being irritated by the nicotine - any PG/VG in an atomizer as long as it wicks faster than you vape, 20-30% is what tanks like, and in cartos mine lst longer with 20% or less VG but you could use higher if you don't mind your cartos getting harder to drag faster

I was jittery as hell for the first two days.... I think it was partly from chain vaping and partly from withdrawal from all of the toxins and chemicals in analogs. Like everyone here has said, it gets better and also, like everyone has said: play with different levels of nicotine and even no nicotine...also, flavors. High levels of nicotine and some flavors will cause the thight-chested feeling you are describing. The good news that I can give after just a few weeks of vaping: NOT coughing up gobs of mucus when I first wake up and a general feeling of calmness once I got through the first few days. Keep up the good work and keep coming here for support. The folks here are AWESOME!!

iamstucifer -

I sympathize!!!
But there is a really easy way to cut the detox WAY down -
Go to any health food store, and ask the person who works there to
help you find: "Zeolite" - or - "Bentonite" - or - "Montmorilite"

There are all essentially the same thing...

Here's the deal - when you switch from Analog over to Vaping -
you still get nicotine so the why do we all still suffer withdrawals?

Tar?

Okay - let's break it down, the Tar itself actually moisturizes our lungs, so when we quit, the tar residue left in our chests, dries out and we get a nasty dry cough...

Alas, it's more than that isn't it? Like people talking about - cold sores, body aches, flu symptoms stuff like that - that's not from getting no tar!

The abscence of tar is one thing, but the truth is: The Polypropylene Glycol, or Vegetable Glycerin will moisturize your lungs adequately within a few days, and the dry cough will cease... VG is slightly superier for this purpose as it has a slightly more coating property to it - so why do we get withdrawl de-tox miseries!?!

Well, it's the Aldehyde's...

You may have read about them, heard about them, but they are the Number 1 source of pain and suffering when switching to Vaping... We're not getting any aldehydes!

So what happens is this: Aldehyde Oxidase and Aldehyde Acids build up in our blood and overwhelm us as our cells excrete the Oxidized Aldehydes. YUCK!

The only thing worse than aldehydes is used up aldehydes!

Now check this out: from the National Institute of Health - "Given previously reported lung absorption fractions of circa 90% for volatile aldehydes, the yields measured in this study are sufficient to induce various diseases depending on the extent of exposure, and on the breathing patterns of the smokers."

90% ABSORPTION! It's a phenomenal absorption rate of the acetaldehyde and formaldehyde... Over years of smoking we build huge amounts of these toxic molucules in our cells...

When we switch to vaping - POW! we start to excrete them in bulk -

Headaches - Body Aches - Flu-Like Symptoms - Sores - etc... are all the consequence of our body purging these Aldehyde group molecules... (some studies have been done that show this family of molecules to be RADICALLY more toxic than nicotine)...

But I digress, we're looking for a quick and easy solution right?

Like - "Drink this, no more detox symptoms"

Enter Zeolite, Montmorilite, and Bentonite...

"Wind, why didn't you have any detox symtoms when you quit smoking analog?"
ME: "1 Tablespoon every morning of Zeolite..."

Here's what it is and does - it's a fully organic volcanic ash. Cheap, highly digestible... When a person goes to the doctor with poisoning they give them charcoal right? That cleans their digestive track out...

The 'lites' (zeolite, bentonnite, and montmorilite) are no different at all, except for one thing - they are molecularlly MUCH smaller, so they are able to clean our whole blood stream, kidneys, and liver of all those nasty Aldehydes...

But here's the thing - it's the Aldehyde Oxidase that makes us feel like crap - and the 'lites attach to it, and render it inert until it's excreted...

So, one spoonful - and two hours later - all de-tox 'sensations' are gone completely (the aldehydes are stabilized and rendered inert until excreted)...

Do it once a day, every morning, and in 7-21 days (depending on your age, weight, and metabolism) you'll have cleaned you body completely of all the residual aldehydes...

You should expect to spend $7 to $30 dollars depending on whether they carry it in bulk or not...

It's cheap, safe, and works like a charm!

With that one little trick - switching from analog to vaping is no more uncomfortable than changing brands!

Plus - in about 15-21 days, without the chronic aldehyde blood toxicity that comes from smoking analog, you're gonna feel - AWESOME!!!

GL - I look forward to hearing how it goes for you!

Good LORD, man! Is that the truth or what!! I had a severe case of the jitters the first day I vaped; I thought to myself, "This thing is pretty good, but I still have that "itch" that only an analog can scratch!" I had a couple of analogs that day, between bouts of chainvaping (as much as I could swapping my poor 510 batts like a madman; sometimes staring at the charger, WILLING it's red LED to turn GREEN! AARGHH!!!

I was vaping 18mg that day (having calculated my PAD smoking L&M's to that rough estimate). Next batch I mixed up to 24mg... Now THAT hit the spot (for me)! I felt satisfied to the point I vaped less in the day than I would have smoked and I haven't needed an analog since!

@iamstucifer: Find the nic level that is right for YOU and go from there! Good luck!

Thanks for all the info wind. When I first started vaping, I went through a horribly depressed few days. Even had brief suicidal thoughts. My husband didn't want to be anywhere near me, lest he be hit with a flying object during a mood swing. I broke my phone and a computer monitor. That's how quitting affected me. Honestly, I'd have taken the coughing and flu symptoms over that any day. It was truly the darkest time of my life. Glad it's over, and so is my family!

That's pretty much exactly how it was for me. I started at 18mg thinking, "Well, that's middle-of-the-road, that should be okay." I smoked light cigarettes after all, pack a day -- all very typical. And I thought for a couple of months that everything was okay -- this is just what it was like. But certain events led to me ultimately ordering some 26mg liquid from Vaperite, and as soon as I started vaping it, that was it. 18mg was like the Chinese food of vapes; great, but you want more in no time, while 24mg was my juicy top sirloin steak. My vaping cut way down and I settled in to vaping about 3ml a day, whereas prior to that I was probably doing nearly twice that.

It's kind of funny entering such a new world virutally unarmed -- with the exception of places like this of course. Sometimes, you just don't know enough to know there might be something amiss, and don't know enough to know there are questions you should ask. But you learn quickly around here. :)
