alas i gave in and had two analogs today ... i was stressing about my finals for summer semester ... turns out i didn't need to stress i aced it but i still feel a little down that i had them but ... im not picking them back up the smell and taste along were enough to remind me why i made the switch .... i need to play with the mixes a little but don't exactly have the money to blow searching for the perfect mix ... and cheap suggestions that could help me figure it out quickly?

You've only been vaping two days! It takes time. I never intended to quit smoking when I started vaping. I had a few cighs when I first started and eventually found I liked vaping more.

What types of juices are you looking for and what have you tried? What strength>

it was hard for me in the first week... but the best thing that i did was remove everything related to analogs around me. gave away all my cases, lighters, ashtrays. out of sight out of mind. good luck!!!! it will get easier my friend!

I had to laugh when I read your post. The exact opposite worked for me. I kept an unopened pack of Camels and a lighter next to my ecig. I think it was my mental safety net. I never really intended to quit, just wanted to try out ecigs. 6 months later I finally threw out the unopened pack.

Give it a few weeks without an analog. Your taste buds come back, sinus problems get a little better, lungs feel cleaner, easier to breathe, clothes don't stink... Now bum an analog from a friend, it will be the worst thing you ever tasted. You'll be glad you quit.

Another tip

Pay attention to how different juices/flavors make you feel

- some new vapers are only satisfied by tobacco flavors with good TH (like high PG juices). Food flavors give them strong analog cravings as if they had just eaten. I was like that (I realized after over-niccing myself on a fruit flavor I could not put down). So for the first 6 weeks I could only vape tobacco flavors alone. I could add a food flavor to my tobaccos but not vape the food flavor alone or I would get analog cravings.

- some new vapers feel best staying totally away from tobacco flavors because the tobacco flavors remind them of cigarettes. They are most satisfied with food and other non-tobacco flavors.

- some new vapers can vape any flavor when they start and are satisfied by almost any flavor

Pay attention and figure out which you are. Once you figure that out, concentrate on juices in the flavors that make you feel calm and satisfied with their flavor, aroma and TH

I smoked for 35 years and I had NO symptoms when I started vaping and not smoking. The first day I smoked 2 cigarettes the second day I decided to see if I could just not smoke any cigarettes and didn't and from then on as long as I have ejuice that taste like tobacco with nicotine I have had no issues at all. If there wasn't nicotine in it I know it would not have worked. I've now cut the nicotine down to 1/3 of what I started with and it's been 1 week and 6 days. :)

ok today has started off worse than yesterday haha .... i really hate detox ... i hated it last time and i sure as hell hate it this time .... i feel like i can't breathe .... reminds me of why im quitting smoking and picking up vaping .... thanks for all the support i've always had a tough time with smoking .... when i was smoking analogs if i even thought i wouldn't get another one for awhile i would start craving immediately even if i just finished one .... i love vaping because i don't have to worry about not getting my fix for long periods of time anymore .... next few days will probably be rough but im prepared with an army of support behind me ... :) thanks again for helping me

ps i got two batteries when i ordered mine .... one of the batteries has apparently stopped working already .... when i draw on it the light at the end lights up indicating its working but im not getting anything off of it .... if i switch the carto to my other battery i can draw on that just fine with plenty of flavor and vapor .... any help making it work would be great if not i may need to contact the manufacturer to get another one.
side note on that ... it seems to be not working only with the carto i use all day .... (and yes that carto works with the other battery) .... when i use the other carto i have loaded up the battery that wasn't working before works just fine .... common? or no?

Hey, that's what we're here for! Information, support, and the occasional joke at someone else's expense. :) Won't find a bigger bunch of more helpful folks anywhere.

Sounds like the battery may not be making proper connection to the carto. If you look in the battery end you'll see the center post that mates up with the center post on the carto. Sometimes that can get pushed in a little bit and cause it to fail to make a proper connection. (The positive center post on both the cartos and batteries are insulated from the negative sides with a flexible O-ring so there's some give to them, and sometimes they can give a bit too much and not come back all the way.) Take a thin object like a bent paperclip or something of that nature and, being careful not to activate the battery, pry it up just a little bit. Not too hard, just enough to lift it about a 10th of a millimeter. Do this from two or three points around the post, then try reattaching the carto and see if it works. I had this happen to two of my eGo batteries after, in a pointless fit of curiosity, I tried attaching a 510 extender and then attaching an EMDCC to that. (I was planning on getting a couple of NoEgo mods and wanted some idea what an EMDCC would look like attached to it with the extender). Well, that extender pushed my center posts down a bit and caused a poor connection with my EMDCCs. (First-gen EMDCCs have some known issues with connection to eGo batts anyway, so this just exacerbated the situation.) So I had to keep pulling up the center post a touch to get a good connection.

And I just had to do that with both of my 1000mAh batteries, too. Why couldn't I have done that with my 650s? I have more of those...

Anyway, give it a try. I'm willing to bet it might fix the problem. A good rule of thumb here is not to overtighten cartos to your batteries. Just screw them on until they make a good connection and don't spin easily and you're good to go.

Not at all! I do it all the time. In fact, when I'm ordering larger sample packs, I'll often include a few complimentary flavours for the added purpose of mixing. Just be aware of the VG/PG content (where available) and nic strength so you know what the end result will be after mixing and you're good to go.

After picking up a SmokeStik starter pack without nicotine a couple days ago, i found i was easily able to cut back to 1/3 of the analogs i smoke daily. I did experience a bit of chest tightness yesterday morning but it loosened up quickly after a couple coffee's and analogs.
This morning a bit of a sore throat at first but fine now.
Hoping to pick up some nicotine carts soon so i can make the switch completely.

Hints?

My cartos get sluggish fast if I use more than 20% VG. My cartos also get sluggish fast if I use juices that leave a lot of flavoring sediment in the stuffing.

I wipe the end of my battery every time before I put it on the charger. I only screw into the charger far enough to get the solid red charging light - any further can depress the center pole of the battery and cause bad connections with cartos later.

At home I leave the ecigs in another room so I don't use them like pacifiers. After a few months of vaping I started lowering my nicotine and now it is low enough that I can vape as much as I want at one sitting and hardly ever get over-nicced headache or cold fingertips.

Cool! And I recommend taking some vitamins for a few days and remember to stay hydrated. Soon you should get your taste buds and sense of smell back and food will be a lot of fun then! I recommend a good buffet when that happens.

And I still recommend having a lower nic carto for times when you are vaping a lot. I had to do that to avoid the dreaded over-nic headache, cold fingertips, and irregular/rapid heartbeat, because sometimes I just want to vape more.
