Hi pwitte. Glad you seem to be making great headway.
But that company is in China, so I'm not sure about ordering from them. Like how long would it take to get, will I get genuine merchandise or cheap copies
Engraved eGo K 900mAh Battery
HealthCabin is ECF listed and has a HUGE and loyal following. I've ordered from them many times and have always been very pleased with the price, service and quality. Shipping takes awhile though. Here's their ECF thread:
HealthCabin

EGO Stainless Steel 3.5ml DCT Tank Cone
EGO Stainless Steel 5ml DCT Tank Cone
So if anyone has any clue if these would work, or better yet, if you know where I can get sleeve cones made for the Vivi Nova here in the USA, please let me know.
Yes they fit perfectly with the Vivi Novas.

Also, I was browsing the many posts and pics here on the e-cigarette forum and noticed a cool looking skull drip tip: Would this work on my 306 atty?
GotVapes SKULL Drip Tip 510 - GOLD [gv-SKULLDripTip-GOLD] - $7.25 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more
Unfortunately no it wouldn't fit but they have adapters:
In Delrin:
306 to 510 Drip Tip Adapter - Avid Vaper
DIY: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...306-510-adapter-using-510-drip-tip-306-a.html
Metal in stock soon? : Grateful Vaper - The i06 & 306 Sleeve - Home
Metal but in Europe: vape 4 me - Siam 306/510 Drip Tip Adapter
As far as sales this is a good thread to keep an eye on. Found the cheap Twists there:
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/pay-forward-pif/85781-deals-steals-884.html

It really does sound like you're well on your way and you have to pat yourself on the back as you're one tenacious son of a gun.
Cheers and the Very Best of Luck to You and the Mrs

Well Pwitte souns like you are doing good man. Grats!! Once you find what works for you and you are no longer spending money on experiments it will save you money. You just have to get to that point.

As far as de-bridgeing an atty, especially a 306 its super easy. 510's are a lil bit more of a challenge but not much. To take the bridge off your 306 grab a pair of needle nose pliers. You will see that lil bridge of mesh on top of it. Just grab it with them pliers and rock it left to right and it will pop of with little effort. The only way you could mess up your atty doing this is if you stick something down into it (under the bridge. I was worried about doing it myself the first time but I figured what the hey and it turned out to be quite easy and made my vape much better.

If you really like the 306 I reccomend getting the HH.357 atomizer. This thing has been the best atty I've found so far. At $20 dollars a piece I still feel they are well worth it. I've been using mine for 2 weeks and though it didn't like the specific juice I was using (super sweet, really dark, it causes carbon build up on the coil) I emailed Hana (the guy that makes these by hand in the usa) and he gave me a few tips and reccomended a coupleof juices and gave me a heads up for future juice selections. So I ordered 2 more so I will not have to worry about going without while cleaning etc. I can't praise or reccomend these atomizers enough especially if you drip more than anything and you are willing to pay the price. You do pay for what you get. The other great thing is they vape like a 306 but they have a 510 body so you can use any 510/901 drip tip and also they have no bridge. These atties are a 510/306 hybrid and I will never be without one cause I have yet to find anything that works better (for me).

I tried those Vivi Nova's yesterday at a local shop and I must say, as soon as they have them in stock I'm going to grab 2. They don't vape like my atty but they sure vape better than any other tank i've tried. I did order some 801 fusions and a couple tanks to try those carto tanks out. Met a few people that swear by them so we'll see. I have a feeling that I'll never get over my atty habit.

On that note though, I've been thinking about getting a bottom feeder mod. Use an atty with an inbuilt bottle that you squeeze to feed the atty. Sounds almost the best of both worlds. I may take that leap soon and if i do ill keep you posted.

Hey man, even though you arent off the analogs yet you drastically cut down and that's a huge victory. Most smokers would be impressed even with you progress. Don't be shy to spread the word about vaping even if you do it while smoking a cig and have your device in hand for demonstration purposes lol. Just try not to get preachy, I know my brain switches off when im being "preached" at.

HH.357 Cisco Spec Hybrid 510 Atomizer - Avid Vaper Go here to check out the HH. 357. Money well spent IMHO. I'll never be wihtout 2 of these. One i'll be vaping and one for a backup just in case. You can pick you ohm you would like. I've found that I go with 2ohm and adjust to flavor. Usually wind up att 4-4.2v. I got a couple higher ohm devices I've been playing with that I'm going to talk about in my blog later but they seem to work good though I vape them around 4.5-4.8v at 2.3-2.6ohm. I also noticed that at a lil higher ohm and voltage according to my ohm calculator the current is a lil lower and I've noticed slightly longer battery life. May be something to check out.

Keep on keepin on man. Get yourself one more batt and I think you'll be set. Especially if you buy another atty try taking off the bridge of the one you got yourself, and like I said I can't reccomend the HH. 357 enough for hardcore atty guys.

Happy Vaping!

Hey there,

Just ordered a bunch more stuff - drip tips, cones, atomizers, another vivi tank, etc. Another $70. But I was figuring, I spent about $4,380 last year on cigarettes - that's about $84 a week. Since I started, I haven't bought any new real cigarettes (but I'm down to my last pack.) So I've already saved about $84.

The cleaning of my atty came out pretty well. The old nutty taste is gone (finally), but it seems a little burnt in flavor. Been using it all morning so far, so I hope that goes away. BTW, @Debadoo, I DID boil it instead of rubbing alcohol or vodka and that did get rid of the taste, so you were right after all.

@Vapoor eyse er - Your post was awesome! Thanks for the info on Health Cabin. They seem to have great prices! I will definitely use them soon! I also ordered the sleeves from LiteCigUSA and appreciate your assistance with that. Thx also for the info on the 306 to 510 adapter - skull tip will look great! And your link to the Deals & Steals - that's really great - lots of good deals there. I bookmarked that and will check it often!

@MaxPerilous - I bought 2 de-bridged attys today, and 2 regular ones, bcuz even though it seems easy, I only have 1 atty now so I don't want to risk de-bridging it myself. The HH.357 sounds awesome and I will try that soon, but first I really want to see if this will work. Still smoking lots of real cigs (had a bad day yesterday, don't ask how many) so I'm still not sure if vaping will really do the trick for me. I was more positive 2 days ago, but after yesterday, I dunno anymore. And $22 a pop is freakin pricey!

You guys are all awesome - helping out others like this is really amazing. :w00t:

hey man, congrats! You've got a lot of good information in this thread so I won't replicate.

What did it for me though was discovering two things - High Voltage Vaping and Halo juices. HV gave me the temperature and throat hit I needed to get off smoking and Halo, well IMHO they make the juice that simulates analogs the best.
Hang tough, vape on and avoid the smokes!

Hey Pwitte don't give up buddy. Just be positive and keep trying. Think of it this way. Even if you don't fully transition from analogs, You still won't be smoking as much and in my book that's a good deal. Bad days come and go. Smoke when you need to but try to vape plenty and often. The more you allow the analogs to pull you in the less you will realize you really don't want to be smoking them!

Send some strength my way here in 1 1/2 hours my kid gets home and she had a huge fight with her mom this morning while I was at work and I'm left to clean up the mess.

LOOOOONG story short she no longer has a door, make-up, soap, razor, toothpaste, I took her bed and put her matress on the floor. I told the electrician to not worry about filling in the trench from the pole to the house for the electric lines cause "I have someone that would be happy to do it." Took, tv,vcr.xbox,wii. EVERYTHING. Except the alarm clock but I opened it up and made darn sure the radio don't work. We'll see if that fixes this lil issue lol

I hate being the bad guy though. Seems to be my job though so all well. Def gonna be stressful screaming fighting (she's 16 so she's an adult you know....). Gonna take all I got not to kill her and/or smoke a cig. But I'm going to do my best. I'm sooooo close to a month and I really want to earn it. It's def going to be a challenge though lol. I'll keep you posted if I smoked or not as long as I don't have to plead "Not Guilty by reason of INSANITY!!!" lol

Wish me luck. Good luck to you keep on keepin on and...

Happy Vaping!

Hey PW! Congratulations! You're really moving along! Forgive if this has been posted before..I think your key now is to get sampler juice packs. What flavors do you seem to prefer? coffee? anise? tobacco? cigar? pipe? bakery, fruit, teas, RY4, 555, ..you get the idea.. Maybe we can help you find that few that gives you and Mrs PW that "OMG!" factor. The best equipment in the world won't help much if the juice is mediocre...

Hey @MaxP, sounds similar to my day yesterday - kids will drive you up the wall! I got a 17 yr old, but yesterday it was his 9 yr old brother that made me lose some more of my disappearing hair!

@Hula, thx, I've got about 12 diff flavors but waiting on my new cartos and bridgeless atty's to try them, cuz when I used my one & only atty, it tasted like nuts all day, and it's too much trouble to clean it after every flavor.

@Torqueguy - I got 6 Halo juices in a sampler pack. Which is your favorite from them?

Hey Max, So sorry to hear of your troubles. Reminds me of a "saying"/"phrase"/not really a joke as follows: When children are born to a proud couple, God realized that it would be heartbreaking for mom n pop, come the day when the children spread their wings and flew away from the nest....so he invented teenagers. I recall one such parent that had such a bad time, that when sonny walked in one day and rebelliously announced he'd joined the army, he found his suitcase all prepped and ready for him the very next day. Just some words to cheer. Stay strong, firm and gentle. All the best

You're very welcome. When I first mentioned HC in 2011 lottsa people jumped to the conclusion that because they were located in China they weren't on the up and up  Their sales are AMAZING- last one 30- 50% off with MOST stuff at 50% discount. Bought about $800 of hardware for $400. "If" you're still having a rough time you may want to look into WTA juice. It has done wonders for some that needed that little extra...a few friends of mine are using it with great success.

MaxPerilous...hoo boy i do not envy you. Aren't teen aged girls fun to raise? i honestly did not think i would survive but did somehow. I really think it should be legal to trade in your children for newer versions just like cars, and not get them back until they are classics.

Yeah I think mine's broken need to send her back to the factory. The cpu is just...wonky.

I'm ashamed. I did smoke a cig. I may smoke another. I tried just going for a ride to clear my head. Worst night ever with her lemme tell ya. What do you do when you've done it all??

I resorted to grounding myself with a pack of smokes and my ashtray. Doubt I'll get through more than 5 but we'll see. I'm hiding til mom comes home. Gonna post an add in the classefieds "FT/FS Girl 16 got a mouth and won't listen trade for anything broken you got that doesn't talk back. Willing to pay you to take her."

So yeah, feelin guilty for smokin. But honestly was to the point of darn near suicide. To cliche to go to a bar. I love my bike to much to kill myself. Don't have any friends with pot. So I'll sit here with my cigs while I hide from my daughter and just keep telling myself 2 more years, 2 more years, 2 more years.

Sorry that all sounds terrible. lol I SOUND like a drunkard at the bar. Have to vent and can't tell this kind of stuff to my wife. So this forum has been my best support line for vaping. Might as well vent a lil.

So is it considered bad parenting to just ignore your kids? I'm sure my wife will prob feed her etc. Can I just pretend she's not there?? The silent treatment. Anyone ever try that?

Man these cigs are horrible. Now I know why I haven't had one in 17 days. Jolly Rancher Green Apple, Jibba Joose, OMG RADIATOR PLUID!!! Now that's the stuff. I might not smoke another cig. I'm gonna figure out how to make a mod with 3 atties and try to get em all in my mouth at the same time!! lol

I'm just rambling now. Oddly enough its calming me down. Didn't think I'd feel this guilty after smokin a cig though lol. Fall of the wagon, dust yourself off and get back on I guess. Gonna have to change my signature now though for sures. Don't want to be living a lie lol. Have enough liers in this house, not enough room for another one. Grrr

KK /end rant. Lets turn this thread back to the positive!!

Pwitte my man, keep on keepin on. Find your flavor and roll with it. Come the first day that you don't smoke a cig, you let me know I'll figure out how to skype and we can have a drink together lol!! I always keep a single beer in my fridge for special occasions. I used to be a drinker and now I may have 1 beer a month, or 3 in one night 3 months apart lol. Or we can drink some wine or a cream soda, whatever's your pleasure. Lookin forward to havin a drink with ya bud.

Happy vaping!

MaxPerilous, LOL you are not the only one with daughter problems, your story reminded me of the dad who shot his daughters laptop online. LOL I know it is not funny tough, I have a 17 yo son, he was horrible at around 15, got a girlfriend and settled down a bit now. Teens, smart enough to push your buttons, to dumb not to. Not sure what settled him down, maybe seeing that we are not as strict, or what ever. We have had some great screaming matches though, and I have thought about doing the bare minimum living to him (and our 13 y/o son as well) more than once.

You can totally give silent treatment, sometimes it can help to avoid saying something you will regret saying later, or do her the service of not saying something she regrets later to you. In my family, I try not to discuss any issue if it turns into a yelling match, It dosn't always work but usually only me or the wife goes off the handle and the other one can send the child to their room to settle down while we discuss the matter.

I always feel guilty if I smoke, it has been maybe a bit over a week since I had one, last time I was drinking and just did it out of habbit, only one, and it was gross. Last night I was drinking again (brother in law visiting from Germany) and managed to avoid them all together even though he and the wife both smoke.

Pwitty, the thing about the juice is of course spot on, you must find a juice that satisfies you, and you will of course have to provide the will power to make up the difference from 100% satisfaction (your menthol ciggies) and the % the juice provides. Someone else already pointed out if you can morph your habit into vaping, after the experimentation phase you will save a whole lot of money.

All smokers who are trying to quit must remember that the act is hardwired into our brains as a response to certain situations. If you keep your nic levels up, the smoke will not calm you down due to the nic (you can get the nic from vaping as well as a cig). It is just a triggered reaction: fill the belly, smoke; have a fight, smoke; have a cup of coffee, smoke; you get the point. While smoking will physically bring you joy through a chemical reaction, vaping can do the same (even if it takes a bit longer to deliver the pay load). Finally, and this may sound cheesy, the deep breath, count to ten, and many of other stress relief techniques are build directly into having a smoke.

As an example: I get into a fight at dinner with a child and decide to have a smoke:

1. I remove myself from the stressful situation and surroundings by heading outside.

2. I get fresh air being outside (ok so it is polluted by the smoke but the air is fresh between puffs)

3. I take a min to consider my problem without the person involved and possibly discuss the situation with the wife

4. I take calm, measured breaths as a drag, inhale and exhale "Guz Fraba"

5. The rush from the nic takes care of the rest.

If you know the mechanics of stress relief and apply them to your vaping when trying to calm down, you may have better luck staying off the cigs.

How long did it take for both of you to acquire the taste for a cig again, I can't do it anymore. Going on a drunken memory: the first 3 or so are totally gross. The next few are ok. Since I blew it for the night, I keep on going, and by the end of the night, I could feel them burning my toung and throat, and they became really gross. At that point I changed to vaping due to concern of blasting my taste buds again, food is just too good to risk again :)

If you made it this far read on for some of my 17 yo antics: All my school aged kids bring home their report cards except him. When asked about it, he said that they will send them home on Monday and that the schools printer was broken. I was pretty sure if the only printer in the entire school was broken, we would have gotten a phone call (school calls us with a auto message all the time), so I investigated a bit. All along the way, we asked him to fess up, and told him we were going to call the school to verify his story. He stuck with it through and through and forced me to call the office and ask. They said each teacher of home room was in charge of the report cards, so I had to request his home room teacher call me. When she had a break between classes I was informed that all students got their cards on that Friday. He was grounded for a month for that one: The lying plus the bad grades.

Mom told me "never have kids, and give the same advice to your kids" :)

Hope this helps a bit and keep with the vaping; you will eventually make it to a cig free life.

My experience with vaping has been trying several things and finally settling on a Volt. Yes it looks and feels like an analog and maybe that is what I needed......did the ego tank and ego-c and even bought the twist......but this Volt has been my success story. I buy BACKO flavor from BWB and it is very very good for a tobacco sub.
i buy blank cartons and fill myself, have not found any pre-filled I enjoy. Also enjoy toffee and buttercream flavors for IN-BETWEEN vaping BACKO.
you can do it....just need to stay with it and find what you like. I was very self conscious about the larger ego and twist batteries and yes I know that is vain.....but I got to feel good doing this or it won't work.
So my EGO stuff is going to go up for sale or trade if I configure HOW to post to do that.
ANYONE interested in them.....give me a holler....and I will answer.
keep at it kid....it is definetly worth it......my lungs thank me everyday!!!!!!!

Heya.

Good idea getting away from the smoking habit even better idea to come here. As you have seen people are awfully helpful. I'm going to cut to the chase and recommend a couple of products that will be most helpful in finding your personal e-cgi sweet spot.

1) Get an ego twist. I'm sure you've heard about them around this forum. Variable voltage easy to adjust and affordable. I'd recommend the 650 Mah because I have a 1000 and it feels like a twirling baton. If you can find a kit usually they have a couple batteries and the charger would be a good deal for you.

2) Get a Vivi Nova mini atomizer tank I recommend this in particular because it is really well constructed and has virtually no chance of leaking or breaking in your pocket. It allows you to see how much juice you have, eliminating dry burn and the heads are both replaceable and rebuild-able for later when you are bored and want to try the equivalent of fly tying. Again this unit sells for less then 15 bucks is reusable and heavy duty enough for newbies.

3) Get higher strength juice. Start with 30mg you can always dial it back later but right now you need that nic hit. I suggest the Vapor For Life Parliment high strength, V4L is pretty good with minty menthol's.

These three things will allow you to adjust your settings enough to find the big hits and meaningful flavors.

I'm 48 quit 2+ years ago never backslid. this site was immensely helpful.

Good luck.

EDIT Just realized there were 12 pages of responses and that you've probably already heard all of the above. hahahah.

Ok so I wound up smoking 2 smokes instead of the one's I thought. SO feeling a lil guilty but not like I feel I should punish myself lol. They both were pretty nasty and though I did fall off the wagon I'm not any closer to start smoking again instead of vaping.

I enjoy vaping to much. I found some juices that honestly I wouldn't want to be without. The choice to enjoy those or endure a nasty stinky is an easy one. Radiator Pluid, Jibba Joose, Jolly Rancher Green Apple, and Sticky Monkey are my saviors.

I also tried those 801 fusion cartomizers. I'm trying to find something that's more convenient than dripping but still provides the flavor. Also cartomizers are a bit cheaper than atties. So far the fusion's are good, the only prob I can't punch them and through them in the tank I have lol. They have this shoulder on the for the threads and with that there the tank won't slide down far enough. Gonna look around the site and see what people are using for these things.

Thanks for all your support here from everyone. Especially pwitte that PM did loads to help me and to ease my mind.

@Hydrophoid LOL man. I think your mom and my mom were prob friends in a past life.

Their dark honey tobacco is wonderful - got about 90 mls sitting here with me. WTA is an interesting subject and there is a thread on it. It works for some and not for others, but the flavors are really good, so if it doesn't work for you, at least you get a decent juice out of it.

Hey @MaxP, venting is good, and vaping is good. tomorrow's another day - hakuna matata. Looking forward to that beer. Just sent you a PM.

@Vapoor - a few folks have suggested WTA's to me in this post. Seems to be a strong consensus about that one. It can't hurt to try it, so onward I will go and order some. Thx.

@Hydro - great post. You're right, I need that extra willpower. Vaping alone won't do it. I never lost my taste for cigs, remember, I am new at this, but I admit, they do taste worse than before.

:danger:
Regarding the WTA, I read through a lot of that thread and I'm a bit concerned about the safety of WTA. I mean, I understand all that talk about "combustion" of chemicals in real smoking, but it seems to me that WTA could be just as bad and just as addictive as real smoking. Or maybe even worse. Who knows? Not that I don't appreciate their efforts, but personally, I just hate being the guinea pig for a few back room chemists making a potion. 10 years from now, I don't want to be 6 feet under and have people say, "Yea, he would've been better off if he kept smoking real cigs instead of that untested WTA juice."

I have more faith in standard e-juice, as I've seen quotes like this:

Far from posing a threat to our health, the propylene glycol in e cigarettes might just keep us healthy.

in articles like this one:

Propylene glycol in e cigarettes might keep us healthy, says researchers

So after my last post of me saying I was definitely going to buy WTA, and then subsequently doing some more research on WTA, I decided I'm gonna put the WTA off for a bit and keep trying different e-juices until I find one that works real good for me, and I'll just try to muster up a bit more willpower. And if I still can't do it, then I'll try the WTA as a last resort.

Correct me if I erred or missed something, I am still a newb after all. :tumble:
