Ah great, there are some very cheap CE7 and CE5 clearomizers on ecignet.co.uk as it turns out. Will I be okay with CE7's?

They may seem cheap but there's a reason why. I used CE4's until I discovered the Vision Vivi Nova 2.0 ml. I switched from the CE4's because the quality on the Vivis was far superior- using the same tanks for 7 months now and replace the heads every 10 weeks- cheap ($2.00) and easy (10 secs). Of course the wicks have to be washed every so often but it's easy as the Vivi can be taken apart. If buying the Vivi make ABSOLUTE sure you get the VISION brand Vivi Nova Mini 2.0 ml as the knockoffs are problematic. My heads cost $1.50 apiece so my Vivi costs are 15 cents per week. They still fire great after 10 weeks but the wicks begin to degrade so I just replace them.

That would explain a lot if the CE5's (which I've been using) are not great quality... disposable even. The site does also sell Vision-branded Vivi Novas though so I think I'll buy one of those keep a CE7 as a spare if it needs replacing.

How are the larger tanks such as the Vivi Nova generally for vaping in public (the man at eGo who I spoke to over the phone didn't recommend them for this reason)? Nobody will mistake it for a crack pipe, right?

The 3.5 ml is only meant for larger PVs. The 2.0 ml "Mini" is the same diameter as an eGo.
eGo C Upgrade but pretty well the same size- just make sure it's the MINI 2.0 ml Pic below also has an optional "sleeve" to hide the threads.
