You can't know for sure that nic salts are the culprit. The nicotine may just have been too high, i.e., freebase nic at 35mgs/ml might also make you sick.

Regardless, though, you should probably try freebase, since you want more throat hit.
I went by what two of my friends were using-the salt-because they quit smoking successfully using it, and said it was a good throat hit. I should have considered that they were former heavy menthol smokers. I am non-menthol. I do think that the nicotine is too high for me regardless. I’ll go to the vape shop later today and get something else and see how that goes.

Hi there! Maybe the device is a thing as well. I have one and depending on how fierce I breathe while inhaling the hit gets more to less throat hit. Because of the air that comes along the vape cloud. So try to breath more while just making a 'Phew' sound. It looks silly but works, or just let it build up by inhaling slowly. You'll notice a difference.
