Hello.
I’m 38 years old.
I’ve been smoking cigarettes since I was 16.
About a half a pack to a pack a day.
I’ve tried quitting several times since I was 30.
Nicotine gum, nicotine lozenges, nicotine patch, cheap gas station vape pens, a few V2 brand vape pens.
Nothing worked.
On March 2 I decided I would try the Juul.
Surprisingly it worked.
I haven’t thought about a cigarette or had a cigarette since.
I also bought the Smok Infinix to alternate with the Juul.
I use the 45mg Mr. Salt-E juice with the Infinix.

So the Juul pods have 50mg of nicotine salt.
Mr. Salt-E has 45mg of nicotine salt.
The amount of nicotine is becoming too much for me.
I’m getting headaches, rapid heartbeat, etc.
I probably vape it more than I should but it’s keeping me off cigarettes.

I need to get something with less nicotine that still provides the throat hit I get from the Juul and Infinix.
I’m not interested in something that provides big clouds of vapor.
I’m not interested in a large box mod.
Just something small/fits in my pocket and provides a good throat hit at a lower nicotine level.

Any suggestions?
What type of device should I buy?
What type of e-juice should I buy?
How many mg of nicotine should be in the e-juice?

Thanks for your help.

I was basically in the same situation as you. I was getting too much nicotine from the Juul. Although 45 mg/ml is a tiny bit less than the concentration used by Juul, the Infinix produces a lot more vapor. So you are likely getting more nicotine than the Juul with that set up. I'd switch to Mr Salt E with a concentration of 25 mg/ml.

I posted my experience in the pod system section. What worked best for me is 25mg/ml salt nicotine from Mr Salt E in a Suorin Drop. It has a restricted pull. But I am still getting much more vapor from the Drop compared to the Juul. I did not like high concentrations of freebase nicotine. But your preferences may be different.

Currently, I use an Aspire Breeze or Suorin Air with 0 or 3 or 6mg/ml freebase since I'm trying to wean myself off nicotine. If I'm not satisfied then I use a Drop with 25 mg/ml salt nicotine. Salt nicotine in the Suorin Drop is my cigarette replacement. I really like that setup and would recommend that combination of device and 25mg/ml nicotine salts. I also keep a Juul handy as an emergency backup. You can also vape more or take a hit from the Juul if you need more nicotine.

I have an Infinix on order and will get it next week. I may use the Infinix instead of the Breeze or Air to wean myself off nicotine with lower concentrations. I plan to continue using nicotine salts in the Drop as my cigarette replacement. The Breeze feels more like vaping than smoking because of the shape and open air flow. I like the Breeze but presently I find it more satisfying when vaping is more like smoking. The Drop isn't shaped like a cigarette but the restricted pull feels pretty close to a cigarette... closest that I've found yet. I should mention that my 1st Drop had a faulty sensor and I'd turn blue in the face trying to get it to work but my replacement was perfect.

Welcome. And +1 on Anna's recommendation for Aspire Zelos. It's what I started with. The Nautilus 2 tank it comes with is probably still one of the best MTL tanks with replaceable factory coil. I think most people that start with the vape pens, or All-In-One or pod devices end up moving on to tank systems if they stick with it. So this kit is a great starter for quitting smoking. I no longer use the N2 tank, because I rebuild with my own coils now, but I still use the mod all the time as a backup, or for my alternate setups...and you'll want a backup. It's a solid, easy to use mod with plenty of power to get through a day or so, and very pocket friendly size.

And it is hard to make juice recommendations, but if you're looking for something to replace tobacco, Halo's Tribeca and Indigo's Duke worked well for me until I started making my own juice. I've never tried them, but I understand that Heather's Heavenly Vapes makes some pretty good tobaccos, and they're very popular. If you're looking for something other than tobacco- well, that's probably what vape shops do best these days, is give you the oppt'y to taste a lot of flavors, then research who makes popular juices in those flavors.

For me, throat hit was necessary to satisfy me when quitting, and nic salts are smoother, so that wasn't really the best option for me. I think most smokers that start with non-nic salts use the 16-24 mg range. I started at 18 (but would mix with a 24 when I really needed it). Over the last year, I've reduced it to about 12 mg. But I wouldn't recommend going too low when you're trying to give up the smokes - nicotine itself is no worse for you than caffeine, so use what you need to stay off the cigs.

Good luck!
