Nicotine (in particular, freebase nicotine) is the main factor in throat hit. The PG/VG ratio is more a throat-hit modifier, than contributor --- higher VG can make it "smoother", and higher PG can make it "harsher". Think of it more like a punch ... an average six year old child can only punch so hard, it'll feel nicer if they are wearing a boxing glove (high VG) rather than a bare fist (high PG), but it'll never feel like the punch of an average 12 year old (gloves on or off).

Yeah, that analogy breaks down fast with age, but it gets the basic idea across. A 6mg/ml freebase liquid just won't give the throat punch of a 12mg/ml freebase liquid (and a 12 won't hit like an 18, and so on), regardless of the PG/VG ratios involved.

nicotine salts, on the other hand, have very little throat hit, so they're of little use if you are looking for throat hit.

May I ask why you want to keep the nicotine low? In the early stages of quitting, it is more important to focus on what works best and worry about the rest later ... in my opinion.

Thanks Jandrew. Good explanation ! :)
Got it concerning salts, not for me in this stage I guess.
Nicotine low because I feel that all above 1mg nic gives me an unpleasant one side headache (I guess too much for me), also because I keep pushing vapor, 3 or 4 draws per MTL (maybe too much...), trying to fill my mouth with vapor to achieve stronger throat hit...

No! I'm looking for strong throat hit!
Aha! That I can help with. In that case you want high PG, probably no “salts” and a higher nic level. There are some protonated nics and some flavors that increase throat hit as well. Heavily steeped cinnamon and some of the “ice” type menthols come to mind but there may be others that do it better. There are flavoring experts about here. I am not one such. I vaguely recall a zero nic blend that was specifically designed to maximize throat hit with no nic at all.

Thank you Izan. You said "For the pods, I mix my juice with 50% VG@ 25mg/ml (freebase)nicotine and 15% flavour." Remaining 35% would be PG ?
The nicotine is in a VG solution and the flavouring is in a PG solution.
I adjust my ratios to maintain a 50/50 mix of PG/VG when mixing for low power devices.

Frebase nic is what you need. I tried salts once at 45mg and it was like vaping air. Some like very mild TH, but for myself, it's very high on the list. I vape 24mg mtl and it's perfect, so as others have said, 18 to 24 is it. Pg imo only contributes slightly and is not all that noticeable when wanting that great TH. Some of my juices are 50/50 while some are 70vg and it's kind of hard to tell the difference. Salts are for those that dont like TH. Also with higher nic freebase, you will vape less juice. Not sure if this is any help, as I really dont know about shipping, but heathers heavenly vapes makes some awesome tobacco Nets and nic levels from 0 to 36mg with pg/vg options. Goodejuice also makes a few great Nets as well.

Thanks Letitia. I live in Macau (independent from China). If I order juice from TaoBao.com no problem with deliveries. so if your vendors suggestions arr in TaoBao I would thank you very much the information, either base liquids and flavors.

I'm from Macau as well. So, olá! A little bit of my experience is that I've been smoking for about 15+ years, pack a day. Recently quit smoking cigarettes completely by vaping. One puff was all it took. If you're into closed systems (is that what it's called?) something like juuls, try Relx (search in Taobao, I got mine there). Nice throat hit, nice flavors (i like mango and blueberry, both 3% nic salt). However they're a bit pricey for me. 3 pods are 99RMB, one pod should last about 3 days. That's why im trying to look for an alternative. But if you've got the money to spare, give it a shot.

Looking for a supplier for good premixed PG / VG / Nic (75% - 25% - 6 mg per ml)
Welcome and glad you joined.
Might try ACV-Apple cider vinegar-- "put a whammer of a throat hit in my juice. Still not getting a vinegar taste out of it at the higher concentration either. It kind of cuts out that underlying VG sweetness" .01-.05%-- Use Extreme caution.
As to NIc in your part of the world, might read:
Recommended vaping vendors. Domestic and international companies.

LOL. Greetings from Macau ! I'll try the Relx then. Doing ok with the Caliburn, with some Black Note flavors at 12mg... also available in TAOBAO.
