Don't bother...I tried that the other day and it didn't work but for the first drag, and then nothing. Mine shows an output of 500 mA so that is 1/2 amp.
There are 1000 mA in 1 amp. Mystery seems solved.
Hey hoog, what do some of the rest of the chargers say?
I'd guess if the charger was problematic in some way as to cause a wall adapter to die you'd see folks complaining it killed their computer or at least the computer's USB port.
Instead I think its just that there is a bad batch of wall outlet to USB adapters in the shipment. Those things are really cheap and made with I'd guess a total lack of QC to keep them so cheap.
OK... After my road trip, it worked great till I got home. I charged it on my laptop all weekend, worked great. Never died.
Plugged it in when I got home. I awoke to no lights... Put a cartomiser on, worked for about 2 hours then, kaput. Came home from work, wall adapter will not work with any charger I have... Sigh. I hope the charger doesn't kill wall adapters, gonna try another tonight.
The output on my wall adapter is only 1/2 amp. It's just not built to do the job right.
Not hoog's fault in any way. He's not in control of what the manufacturer sends.
I'm sure he's in touch with them to get this rectified. That's how I've heard he rolls.
The USB spec says 500mah max allowed on a port but like anything else in the real world that isn't necessarily what you get.FWIW, USB ports are rated at 500ma and will shut down once you draw more than that.
Maybe find out if they are willing to replace the wall chargers for those of us with faulty ones?
