Loft, yeah that Murphy thing kicks in! This too shall pass.
Everyone knows that puters run on smoke. When the smoke leaks out they stop running! There's your proof right there! Lol
Oh, and that smell, you were going faster than Stink and now that you stopped the smell just caught up!

Open question

My question is: on this site TeamECF - Team Summary - EXTREME Overclocking Folding @ Home Stats on the bottom right side they list "Team user info" and "Active" and "Inactive" does anyone know what triggers "Inactive".

I ask because they are some of us who only get 1 WU completed per week, sometimes it's longer. Does 24 hours or 7 days without completing a WU trigger "Inactive"? Can people be classed as "Inactive" even if they are still working on a WU?

Well I don't have the cash to replace anything so I'll probably be out for at least a week if not more. The power supply is five years old. Just died. Only so long it could be used at max output. Guessing the new video card put it over the top. :(

Room it's in still smells. Sheesh.

That's some tough luck loft. Sorry to hear it. On the other hand, you get a forced opportunity to upgrade! Just curious, what brand/wattage were you using? Some of the new v-cards demand a lot of amps and the older power supplies, although seemingly enough watts to handle the card on the whole, might be a split rail system instead of single rail. It may be that the rail your card was on was only borderline able to handle the load. I've seen some Corsair and Seasonic PU's on sale at Newegg the last couple of weeks. Hope you're able to get up and running again soon.

I'm guessing that it's possible due to the data being statistical. It's easier to see here: TeamECF Individual Users List - EXTREME Overclocking Folding @ Home Stats or drill down even further into a user's profile itself.

There are a lot of users that jumped on board and had to pull back out due to not being aware of system constraints etc. A noble effort but not sustainable. Or, like our friend Loft where his powersupply gave up the ghost and left his room a stinky mess.

We're forging ahead as a team btw, top 500 should be coming up in the next 24 hours or so.

Thanks for the link. It does make things a little clearer. It is kind of clunky because it uses a fixed "This week" rather than a "Last 7 days" total but I also realize that individual stats is not the point of this Project.

I have to be away for 2 weeks next month so I will have to shut things down, especially in light of what happened to Loft.

I have a new Granddaughter to visit in Alberta! Priorities!

Top 500 is a Great accomplishment! and Team ECF is still Growing!!

I kinda did away with the multiple banners as well, because having multiples are against the rules. We've kinda made an exception to the F@H banners even though they are above the recommended size, but realistically folks should have just the one banner image in their signatures.

Enermax Infiniti 650w but it's been run near full load since the day I got it. I over clock everything. Had it powering my core2duo which was OC'd, then my i7. Probably not enough amperage to cover the OC'd cpu and gpu. No worries, ordering a new one in a bit which outputs 1250 watts, multi rail, and is certified for quad sli with the gtx 690 so it should be future proof for when I do my Haswell rebuild. 300 bucks though... Ugh.

A 1250 watt might be a bit overkill unless you actually plan to quad sli. Here is a link to a nice app that will calculate how big of a psu you need depending on your equipment, even has a check box for if you plan to fold 24/7.
PSU Calc Final Release
It will also list some of the better psu models for the wattage you need.

Every time someone passes me it means that we have someone with a faster machine on the Team! That's Great!

A Team has many positions to fill and every player is important.

If this list was something else...... the Food Chain, for example, I might want to be higher up! Lol I'm Happy to contribute what I can.

Presently my 5.0.3 core cannot find a WU. There may not be a server for it any more. Laptop is still chugging away!

I know it is overkill for my current system, but I am doing a rebuild in a couple months when the Haswell chips are released.
