That's bad news loft, sorry to hear it man
Well I don't have the cash to replace anything so I'll probably be out for at least a week if not more. The power supply is five years old. Just died. Only so long it could be used at max output. Guessing the new video card put it over the top.
Room it's in still smells. Sheesh.

My question is: on this site TeamECF - Team Summary - EXTREME Overclocking Folding @ Home Stats on the bottom right side they list "Team user info" and "Active" and "Inactive" does anyone know what triggers "Inactive".
I ask because they are some of us who only get 1 WU completed per week, sometimes it's longer. Does 24 hours or 7 days without completing a WU trigger "Inactive"? Can people be classed as "Inactive" even if they are still working on a WU?
I'm guessing that it's possible due to the data being statistical. It's easier to see here: TeamECF Individual Users List - EXTREME Overclocking Folding @ Home Stats or drill down even further into a user's profile itself.
There are a lot of users that jumped on board and had to pull back out due to not being aware of system constraints etc. A noble effort but not sustainable. Or, like our friend Loft where his powersupply gave up the ghost and left his room a stinky mess.
We're forging ahead as a team btw, top 500 should be coming up in the next 24 hours or so.
we'll still get it done!
I know it is overkill for my current system, but I am doing a rebuild in a couple months when the Haswell chips are released.A 1250 watt might be a bit overkill unless you actually plan to quad sli. Here is a link to a nice app that will calculate how big of a psu you need depending on your equipment, even has a check box for if you plan to fold 24/7.
PSU Calc Final Release
It will also list some of the better psu models for the wattage you need.
