I suddenly get this very harsh burnt taste on my JS. Does anyone know how to fix this? When I draw I don't taste anything, but in the throat it feels like a chemical burn like sensation (not TH, a lot harsher than that). I read somewhere that JS has this problem when atty is not screwed in tightly. I don't see how less current would create this burnt taste. Nonetheless, I tightened atty as much as I could. The cart is full. I almost flooded atty. But, it only solves the problem for a short while (2-3 puffs at most). Does anyone else have this problem? Thank you.

I have 2 Janty sticks and have never had this problem with either one. The problem that i did have with my newer one was that I was not getting a good connection. I was told this was due to excessive sealer leaked on the thread and that it would go away after several uses, which it did. Have you tried different attys?

The only time I notice this type of "issue" is when my atty is on its way out. I have to fire it up longer to get it to heat enough to give good vapor. The overall heat of the atty and vapor goes up while the volume goes down and that seems to produce a real bite.

Whenever I get into these pickles, I start over. New atty, if available, or at least clean it out as much as possible, rinse out the cart and start like it's a new day. May want to try another batt if you have one and clean up the JS connection with alcohol and a Q-tip as well as the atty connection.

Hope some of this helps.

If you have a brand new battery, give that a try. Also blow the atty all the way out and drip 4 drops onto it. Puff on it until it tastes harsh, then redrip 4 drops, repeat this process until you can get a good 10-15 draws off of it between needing to redrip. Don't use a cart while you are doing this, to make sure the problem is in fact the atty and nothing else.

You may want to try a brand new cart as well.

just out of curiosity...since you didn't mentioned it... what Juice are you using? -- Have you recently started using something newly ordered or something? --- or maybe a new mix of DIY or something?

There isn't a direct and true relationship (in this framework of concern) between the issue of a "burnt" taste... and the "quality" of the electrical connection between the battery and the atty.

The only pertinent physical factors that enter into the question are: a) what substance(s) are in contact with the heating filament?; and b) how hot are those substance(s) getting?

Offhand.... I have to concur with the earlier suggestion that most likely the problem is a result of some loose fiber(s) from cart's polyfil stuffing ... have found their way onto or under the bridge (where the heating filament is)...
and have melted onto the filament. --- This can easily cause problems (and often does) with "burnt" taste & odor , low vapor production, & overall poor atty performance.

Almost invariably....except for the case of melted errant synthetic fibers...the only other significant possibilities arise from the question of what ingredients are contained in the juice that you've been using. -- Certain 'flavoring' components have been found to NOT work well in a PV (for different reasons), and thus NOT recommended. But that doesn't mean you won't find such juice flavors available... or being made DIY.

And finally of course... there could be a possible issue relating to 'quality' of any of the other ingredients or the method of manufacture of any given particular juice (e.g. - who made the juice?..how was it made? ...or where was it sourced from?..etc)

Thank you, everyone, for your kind suggestions.

Here is what I found so far. It might be worth updating the status since it happened to me a few times before.. Some others might benefit.

E-liquid: 555 11mg from MVS, nothing added, used for several months.

Atty: Joye 302 from MVS. I used to use 801 high bridge, now changed to 302 recently. The first one was okay. I moved the working 302 from JS to SD and put a new 302 in JS.

It appears the "something in the heating coil" theory is the most likely one. I put a new atty and JS is back in the "OK" mode again. I looked closely the heating coil, the "bridge" of the problem atty. I see a black mark--like a burnt something. My guess is something might have gotten into atty (hair, filler, etc). Which raises the resistance of coil, in turn, overheat the coil, and burning whatever at the same time. Which drains more battery and creates chemical burnt after-taste.

Everything fits! JS even with USB connected still didn't seem to have enough juice to burn whatever off the coil. So, when I get home, I think I will try to pull out whatever it is as you suggested, clean it, or just burn it off with USB pass-thru.

Thank you again for your suggestions. Live and learn. :)
