I'm so sorry to read of your fathers illness. Stay strong! I'm sure he's proud of you for quitting to begin with! You may want to go & grab some liquid with higher nic while you're going through these stressful times. If you do have a cigarette please don't beat yourself up. We're only human & can take only so much! You & your family are in my thoughts!

Awww - prayers for you & your family Chalton. If you do buy a pack (or two) I'm ok with that:)
I still smoke two or four a day & I've been vaping since March 5th, & no, I don't expect I will ever go back to analogs full time, plan to get off completely soon. Sorry, off topic! What I'm trying to say is it's ok if you do, just get back to vaping as soon as you feel able to cope.

You and your family will be in my prayers. I recently had a tough go, and while I did stumble and smoked analogs, I got right back up. Should you stumble also... don't beat yourself up and when yer ready, pick up where you left off. This may not be helpful.... just being honest as I have been down this road very recently.

    Sorry about your father's news...

My suggestion is much like what Chimney suggested. However, my suggestion is, grab some 24 mg juice, and make a deal with yourself. When you feel the need to grab an analog cig, tell yourself that you'll take three, four long drags on a tank filled with 24mg juice, and if you STILL want a cig, go out and get one, and don't beat yourself up.

I found that whenever I took a couple of drags on stronger nic content juice, my cravings for an analog cigarette went away!

Good luck to you, and just don't give up, even if you have a slip.

Chalton, talking/typing about it does help. When you do that, it helps to see that the cig craving is a crutch that we think we need when faced with very stressful times. Cigarettes were there for us during every good and bad thing that happened in our lives. It's normal to want that which was comforting. Give vaping time to become that comfort. Just remember, if you do happen to get some, they will not taste nearly as good as you remember. :)

Sorry to hear of you and your family's misfortune. Venting and expressing your feelings to others generally helps, and you'll always find support here. The recommendations to temporarily increase your nicotine strength in your e-lquids is a great idea. Even should you fall off the wagon, don't stop vaping, too. Always remember the beginner's creed, "It's not the ones that you smoke, it's the ones that you don't smoke that count."

I find it ironic that I tried my first e-cig the week that I found out that my mother had terminal cancer. She died within a few days of finding out it was incurable, so I'm thankful that she didn't need to suffer much. However, the experience of her death from cancer really hit home to me and my sudden realization of my own mortality. It just gave me that much more incentive to try electronic cigarettes and the determination to make it work for me and my family.

I was able to put cigarettes completely away a week after starting vaping. I allowed myself a few smokes each day if I felt that I really needed them, but vaped as much and as often as I wanted. I only allowed myself half of a cig at a time, saving the rest for the next bad cig craving. Soon they began to taste awful and I didn't want one anymore. Last week marked my one year anniversary to be smoke free and was one year ago that my mother passed on to a better place.

Stay strong. Vape strong. May God bless you and your family. :)

Very hard message to receive Chalton.
So sad- that someone who takes such great care of themselfs and is so strong could be dealt such bad cards.
Your father raised a wise son. One who is strong enough to know when to reach out for help.
We are all here to help hold you up...but you must remain standing and strong !
Vape as much as you need and want...and if you need to talk about it- we are here.

    - thinking of You and your Father.

Chalton Sir. I am sorry to hear about your father. My Exs mother went through the same thing, and she survived it. If she can survive so can your dad, Know that you will always have a place to turn here with us and a shoulder if you need it during this time. Follow the good advice of Chimney about trying to up your nic level to help you through this. If you do fall off the wagon it's not the worst thing in the world, but we'll do what we can to help keep ya on board :)

Try thinking of this. You'll pay a lot of money for something that taste like ash, and you'll be begging to put your lips on some tobacco executives .....
