After reading all of the fan-boy and fan-girl praise of Boba's Bounty and Gorilla juice, I decided that I, too, must become a fan-girl of aforementioned juices.

I ordered a bottle of each in 18mg strength, 18ml bottles and I of course tried it right out of the envelope, and I was so excited because it tasted so nice! Sort of a soft honey with a slight tobacco undertone. I couldn't wait for it to steep so I could taste it in all it's glory. I saw that several people recommended removing the caps, placing them in a cool, dry area, shaking them once a day, and boom. Vaper heaven in 10-14 days. It's day 10. And I wish I could go back to day 1. It tastes almost flavorless to me, and it burns my throat to boot!

Am I doing something wrong? after trying it in a kanger evod (awful results - too much air, not enough juice) and a carto sized clearomizer (pretty good, but still lacking), I finally broke out my 'incase of emergency' atomizer (it's just your standard run of the mill atomizer, but the only one I currently have left!). still just eh. I just used my ego spinner (yes, i tried different voltages too) since it is my 'most advanced' piece.

Please don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing the liquid gold here, I'm asking for someone to please tell me what I need to do to see the light!!! I want to get just as ridiculously hyped about this juice as everyone else. Do I need to dish out the dough for a more expensive set up? Let it steep longer? Leave it on my dash? What do I do?!!!:(

I've read that some people prefer Boba's fresh out of the box, and others prefer it after steeping. I like it throughout the course of its lifetime (which is, admittedly, rather short in my household). The flavor profile changes dramatically over time, and the tobacco notes don't really start standing out until the 1.5-2 week mark. For all its sweetness in the beginning, Boba's is still very much a tobacco blend at its core. The honey/graham cracker flavor that is dominant in a young bottle is actually supposed to be the undertone, I believe, it just takes a few days for it to mellow out and fold into the rest of the blend. The tobacco flavor manifests in the beginning as a sort of grain or bran taste. I enjoy the interplay between these different flavors in a young bottle as much as I enjoy the final end result after it's well-steeped... which results in the flavor that I believe is what its creator originally intended.

At any rate, don't be concerned if you don't like it. My girlfriend won't touch the stuff, but otherwise she has great taste in juice. I'm thankful (that she won't touch the stuff, because it's ALL MINE ).

My sweet spot is around 10 watts for this juice, so the only advice I have is to keep cranking your voltage up and see if that helps.

I think I'm quoting ECF member gthompson when I say this:

Just because a certain vendor is popular doesn't mean you'll like the juice.

You're not doing anything wrong. You're not "supposed" to like BB just because others do. If you don't like it, you don't like it, and no one should have to talk you into liking it.

Now I know for a fact that if you became verified and listed it for sale in the classifieds, you'd sell it in about, oh, 1 minute after making the post.

(laughing at leaving it on the dash) Go ahead and be a fan-girl of "fresh out of the box" and be proud of it! Took a lot of reading to figure this out for myself. I mean the theory was sound, but I had to actually do it to feel it ... sometimes steeping isn't ok. Hope that makes sense. LOL

I found the first taste to be the best. Try vaping another flavor and then hit the Boba's. For me it renews that 1st vape taste. All in all, I still enjoy Boba's all day, every day (have started on my 2nd 30ml bottle). I do trade off vaping on a few others (Gorilla Juice is good, too) and always come back for some more BB. In my opinion, BB doesn't need steeping. Maybe shaking the bottle real good before filling your clearomizer might help. I never could get it to work right in a carto, just too thick to seep into the polyfill.

Also, did you get the real deal. Have a friend on here who found some on a site, that was a mixture of PG and VG, and they called it Boba's Bounty. He liked it but found the throat hit too much. AVEJUICE.COM is the source of Boba's Bounty and it is 100% VG.

That happened to me with another company's flavor. Very highly touted, almost no negatives at all, and I just did not like it whatsoever. I thought it was me, my tastebuds, or whatever and was truly bummed! You sound just like I did. "What do I do!???" I finally realized that no matter how long it steeped, no matter what I dripped it in and no matter if I danced naked in the moonlight around the bottle on a pedestal in a pentagram, I wasn't going to like it. Ever.
I really do want to try Boba's Bounty AND Gorilla Juice though.

thanks for all of the feedback!

One thing before I give my "i slept on it thoughts": I forgot to mention, glasseye, that i did in fact dance around it nekked in the moonlight... no change.

After posting, i thought it over. and i realize that even though i'm complaining about it not being as magnificent as i had expected, i still wanted another taste. i still liked it better fresh than i do steeped, but i still apparently like it. maybe it's the desire to want to like it, or maybe it's just an acquired taste like olives or whiskey.

I took a few drags shortly after waking up again, and i gotta be honest, there's nothing that i DON'T like about it, it's just not the mind blowing experience that i had prepared myself for. it is far better then many of the other juices i've tried. i'll take it as a learning experience... i don't have to put of vaping a juice that i like fresh just because the crowd says 'let it steep'. i'm such a noob...

I tried some of the AIV flavors based on all the glowing reviews. They were only OK for me at best. I also got a sample pack from HHV. Found that heavenly tobacco was excellent so I have also gotten Dragons Fire (based in part on gthompson comments, that monkey is having too much influence on me. lol). I think I will try the Bobas as well, the flavor profile description sounds right up my alley.

Don't fret. At least you want another taste. To me, it tasted like stewed prunes. I tried it fresh out of the mailbox and then again about a week and a half later and didn't like it any better after steeping. It's been about two months and I want to give it another try before calling it a lost cause. Not every juice is for every vaper, so if I end up not liking it, no big deal. There are plenty of other juices I do like. :)

Well, I've pretty much narrowed down my rotation for the next.... however long.

I've got enough MBV butterscotch to last me into the Seventh Year of the Tribulation. But recently my mind has been blown by HHV's Purity tobacco line.

Between Legend, Dragon's Fire, Huntsman, Dark Horse, Shadow, and probably Heavenly Army (have yet to try this flavor, will be the next selection on my re-order), Boba's Bounty, and my Virginia and Turkish blends, I've found the delectable tobaccos I love the most!

I completely agree with OP. I received Boba's and Gorilla juice about 8 weeks ago. After I let steep for 2 days, I dripped them in my HH .357 and both absolutely blew my mind. I reluctantly put them away for my standard 2 week steep and that "wow" factor was gone. I'm dripping 8 week old GJ as I type this and it no longer tastes or even smells like banana, just graham cracker.

It's day 10. And I wish I could go back to day 1. It tastes almost flavorless to me, and it burns my throat to boot!

I am the same, I started my vaping career with Boba's as it was the first and only e-liquid I had at the time so I vaped it straight out of the mail. Loved it!! After getting other juices and experimenting I decided I liked Boba's the best and ordered 100ml of the stuff. I vaped it in rotation with others and it wound up having time to steep when I got into DIY stuff. Went back to vape it and GACK!! Total flavor change, tobacco is very prominent now. Still have 30-50ml.... <sigh> Maybe when my tasebuds go out again.

I'm glad to see i'm not the only one who's mind wasn't blown to kingdom come from BB. I am definitely enjoying it more using an atomizer, and i have not doubt that i'll use it daily, but it certainly isn't my favorite. My favorites so far has been shamrocky shake and glazed blueberry doughnut from http://www.sweet-vapes.com... both very true tastes while not being overly sweet. those two will always be kept near by! They have a great honeysuckle too, but - against every instinct i had - i tried to use it in a KVOD and the tip cracked of in about 15 minutes. It seems to work ok in a volcano tube tank, but after cleaning a tube out and seeing the outrageous amount of etching, i'm a little freaked out. i don't know what's in the honeysuckles that causes that to happen, but i'm thinking i might be better off with the analogs than something that has the ability to chemically etch my delivery system! I just got a few dragon blend samples form ECblends that sound promising! can't wait for those guys to steep. It's funny, when i first began the switch to vaping, i thought i would never be interested in anything other than tobacco flavors. but the more time that passes, the more i'm steering away from tobacco. i'm down from a little over a pack a day to about 3-4 a day since i made the switch almost 2 months ago. that force of habit is a strong force, but i'm looking forward to beating it!

it really depends on three factors with your nic level:

1. what its vaped out of (carto/clearo/etc)
2. how often its vaped (only liquid? alternated with another?)
3. how old/steeped it is

i ranked these in priority. bobas to me tastes like crap in a vivi, but in a fresh carto or atty its amazing. when the flavor starts to go after 4-5 days, i replace my carto.

also, if you only vape one liquid, you will build up a temporary tolerance for the flavor, so it wont taste as strong.

steeping isnt really a big factor for me, but i tend to notice the bottom of the bottle tastes less strong than the top. it could be just me, but shaking and rotating the bottle to mix things up works for me.

dont give up, i was like what the &%$# at first and not impressed but as it grew on me i cant vape anything else.

Sounds like you enjoyed it the day you got it. I can only give you my opinion but possible steeping it without the caps somehow affected it in away that was not to your liking?

I think it a flavor that grows on you. Also try what others have said make sure you shake the bottle and use a fresh atty, carto,or clearomizer head. Always makes a big difference for me
