Hello!
I am needing some help.
I just bought the Kanger sub box mini and LOVE it. I have only been using the 1.2 coils. My normal nicotine strength is 12 mg.
I am coming from having using the joy tech Ego one. I had tried the .5 coil on that once. I absolutely detested it. The vape was so hot. And it just was difficult( even with a 3 mg strength which is what someone suggested)

When I was in the vape store yesterday, someone said try this:
They gave me a sub tank nano with some juice in at and the .5 coil And I 'think ' 3 mg, and I tried it on my kanger sub box mini and I loved it.
It was not that different from my normal vape being on a 1.2 could ..but the flavor was absolutely amazing.
And… It 'seemed 'as if I was able to do my normal mouth to lung hit.
Problem is I don't remember what wattage they had set the subox.on.
My question is this:
Is my experience with this because when I had previously tried it on my ego one the temperature was just too high and such a hot vape, as it can only fire at 4.2 V and can't be changed?
And also it seemed like the vapor was goung right into my lungs with the ego one, and I could not change that. While doing it on the joy tech, it was terrific..was extremely pleasant.. and it seemed like my normal mouth to lung..

Many thanks for your help..

The short answer: buy a variable wattage mod or turn down the air flow. The long answer: I had almost given up on my ego one until I tried the CLR .5(.4) coils. It was like using a new tank. I also was using a 90% VG juice. I had almost thrown the One away as I couldn't even see passing it on to someone and just giving them the same problems. At .4, my 50 watt will go down to 10w as the lowest possible setting. I start getting dry hits around 30-35 watts. It should be able to handle more power but I don't see how. The One is really a lung hitter and I switch between M2L and Lung hits because of the air flow. The CLR heads changed everything for me and made a terrible tank in to something that I actually like. Good luck.

I think the OP has a VW Mod.

The people vaping sub-ohm using 3mg are generally taking lung hits. This is usually what is desired for this kind of build because the airflow needs to be there, and the vapers enjoy the big clouds. If mouth-to-lung is your preference, then I would stick with a lower power vape.

ETA: you don't need the low resistance coils if you prefer to be tootle puffing.
