ob, I can almost guarantee that some of them will be bad. Most of the flavors I mix I just don't like. I screw up almost as often as I get it right. I doubt if there is anyone here who doesn't make mistakes at least once in a while.
So what!!! It's no big deal I just do it over.
It's more import to just experiment and enjoy it...

Right, it is an experiment. There is no failure. Just discovering a way to NOT do what you wanted to do. That bit of learning is going to be a big help as things continue.

why do people hate on graduated cylinders?

I do not know unless they do not fit their mixing style. I am using them when mixing larger batches of my main vape. I do not even reach for a syringe since my smallest amount is 3.6 - 4.0 ml.

I have seen several people knock them and several rave about them. I like them a lot.

How is the juice ob?

gulp, have not tried them yet  I swear I am going to tonight. Just waiting for the right moment. I swear I will post the results as soon as I try them.

I think I am putting it off for two reasons. I do not want all 12 samples to totally suck and the idea of testing 12 samples seems crazy. I know I have to do it at some point. I will.

Start dripping the lowest % of 1 flavor. You can switch to the next higher % without worry about doing anything to the atty.

I dripped a few drops of plain vg & blew it out then vaped the plain a little to change flavor tests, seemed to work ok....

I let the samples steep about 14 seconds before I started dripping them.

Looking forward to hearing that you made something you like!

To -The ob- I have so totaly been cheerin for you. Your so close. I would like to let you know that you have presented yourself in professional, deserved, and appreciative form. I would be extreemly suprised if all the AMAZING WONDERFULL folks that have helped (and what a great job you all have done, honnestly, beyond the call of dutey) didn't feel the same. This thread has actualy brought me uplifting happyness. So chin up my friend. You have done well. You have met many new vapors, and I know they will always be gladd to help. Most importantly though I want to again say to everyone-The ob-will never forget you. You all will most likely be a point of conversation for-The ob-for some time to come. The ob and myself have a lot of similarities, and I am pretty sure ob would dig you a hole to China right about now. :)

OK. Results from the taste tests tonight. Here is what I learned.

1) I have to order more pre-made juice before I run out of my favorites.
2) I literally cannot taste the difference between any of the flavor percentages.
3) I cannot tell if I like any of them or not.
4) I realized that the "20 drop" test does not work because I run out of drops before I really know anything.
5) I am using a HH 357 which might be the wrong atty for this kind of thing.
6) I am going to have to make at least 3ml of all the flavors
7) I will probably run out of flavors before I figure out what I want, and then I will be out of flavors.
8) I now cleaned about 20 bottles and have to wait to do anything before I do anything else.
9) I made a mess testing everything.
10) as badly as I want to, I might just not be able to pull this off. I appreciate all the support, but may just have to realize that no matter how persistent, some people might just not be cut out for this kind of thing.

I want to do this. I cannot explain how difficult this is for me. I think I am a somewhat intelligent person. I have run a successful business for over 9 years, but I just might not be able to grasp this. I am filled with mixed emotions. I know I am a decently bright person. I just am not sure I can do this. Everyone has talents and skills in different areas. This just might not be mine.

Los Mauauder I appreciate your support and do not want to let you down. To the rest who have helped, all of you, I appreciate it. I have not totally given up, but just might be close.

I am frustrated. I do not however want anyone to feel sorry for me. That is not my intention in posting this. I just wanted to let all of you know where I was at. This is not a "feel sorry for myself" kind of post.

When I first tried DIY, I was horrible at it. I made one juice I liked and gaped just that till I got tired of failing.

Months down the road...now that I've spent too much in vendor juices, I came into the game again. And now I make a good tasting mix a majority if the time.

Moral? Maybe it's not for you now. Maybe down the road you'll pick it up again and it'll all make sense to you. Don't be too hard on yourself just because you can't grasp it right now. No shame in buying vendor's juices.

ahem, Mr President:2cool: what is this drop rule you speak of? I would think the easiest way to start DIY would be just to keep everything in ml. 10 ml of juice and 10 perccent flavoring is 1ml, and so forth. maybe it would help if you skype one of us?

I did this 20 drop testing thing. I really did not end up with enough to really test them properly.

I would skype if I actually knew how. I should figure that out.

Enough? As in enough liquid to properly form an opinion about it? If so, then try doubling the amounts so you end up with more juice.

look at the first two posts on this thread: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/diy-e-liquid/74109-guide-diy-flavoring.html
i'd suggest not getting bogged down on the who mass of info in these posts, but just bookmark them for the percentages.
Nikl gives referrence to a ecf member named "Little Girl" if you click on the link he provides, it will take you to her blog. once there, look at the percentages she uses for TPA flavorings, as she has it simplified. If you click, "read more" in her blog, you will see she tested a whole mess of flavors. I think the easiest thing for you would be to make 8ml of what ever ratio of pg/vg you want. then add 1 -2ml of flavoring; shake the hell out of it, and let it sit.
