I heard there are known issue with the firing button on some being defective and getting stuck.

Either the atty resistance is too low (less then 1.2) or it's not making a good connection with the mod.
SVDs are known to have dodgy 510 connections and theres also a bug with all innokin products showing NON but still firing.
Try removing the beauty ring, and tightening the atty.

Fasttech sell original Innokin products including the SVD, so don't blame Fasttech, blame Innokin.
