You've done the "hard" part (not that hard, really, was it?). All that's left now is to fine tune the coil's position and maybe some wicking tweaks. If you can swing a pic or two, you'll get all kinds of tips from the very experienced crowd in here.

You only need a little bit of cotton. When it's dry and you first put it in, you should be able to slide it back and forth in the coil without it hanging up. A typical newbie mistake is cramming w-a-y too much cotton in the coil. Too much cotton definitely affects the taste.

Next time try a little closer to the air hole and raise the coil up some for a smoother vape. Low for harsher hit.
Still could try raising it up some as it is.
May be a hair too much wick if it's cottom/kgd.
If your coil isn't darkening up after an hour or so it's prob hitting too dry and too much wick is not allowing the juice to flow to the coil.

Yup - like SteamStack says, closer to the edge of the deck (almost right to the air hole), a little higher by the looks of it, and a little less cotton.

I'd also trim the cotton on the juice hole side so it's very close to the end of the coil and make the other side a tad longer.
