Hi I need some help.. I just bought a kangertech top box mini and have run out of cotton.. Its ordered but of course I Burnt my last coil out.. Can I some how use the dreaded silica I have from my old device as I still have a spool of it? Just as a back up for emergencies?

I have no experience using silica. I would just get some organic cotton balls from the local drug store.

I still build some coils using silica and ekowool from time to time, especially when I get a wild hair and rebuild one of my old genesis tanks. Coil and wick break in time is longer and flavor is muted, but in a pinch if you have cotton in bound you could suffer through it. Still easier to stop at a CVS or Walgreens pharmacy if you live in the US and buy a bag of organic cotton balls for emergencies like this.

Yes.... I have Q-Tips I didn't think of that. And thank you for the responses I appreciate the help . I will be buying a bag of organic cotton balls from the drug store for emergencies now if I could get the damn thing to stop leaking I'd be aok

Hmm. Silica works... but usually you have to build around the wick instead of pulling the wick through.

A lot of drugstores even have the cotton pads....
well maybe its different, but in Japan.
Might want to go to the mall to get cotton. Beauty stores....etc

as long as you have solid core silica coiling the wick is easy. use gloves to avoid weird taste. best of all, 1000c melt temp..

Definitely organic cotton balls. It's what we all used before Japanese cotton was a popular thing. I'd still use it in a pinch.
