That green is purdy! I do like the splitfire better with the 2.8 head, and I love that I don't get juice in my mouth like I sometimes do with the vivi, but there's things about the vivi I like better, so it's a toss up for me.
On 3.7v I can only vape on the 1.8ohm heads. Thank god they have those in stock right now. Ordering
I tried all my "stripped" splitfires on my backup (anodized Bolt) and they all screw right in no problems. Makes me thing the 501 connector on my SB is what's stripped. Hmmm... bah.

Two reasons I always use some kind of adapter with all my mods.......#1 to keep the threads in my mods from getting messed up and #2 to keep juice out if something leaks.
Soooo glad that 'Nita/aka Monkey Mama told Danno to get us these air flow adapters!
First of all the performance right out of the box is very good. No need to fiddle unless you have a fiddler personality.
I make the slots in the coil cups wider and deeper with a Dremel cutting wheel. No need for the narrow slots on this style. When I am done the coil is basically just lying there unrestricted. And since the slot is deeper also it is very close to the air inlet. If you go too deep the coil will touch the post and you will short. I also opened up the holes a touch on the mounting plate as much as I could without cutting into the threads and chamfered the holes a touch with a small center drill. Recoiled with 3mm silica wick. With the wider slot the wicks flow very good.
I have three more waiting to be butchered. If I remember I'll take notes and pictures when I do them. Are they that much better? I think so. Although they sure do suck up the juice now.
I'm a bit bummed today. Almost out of Butterscotch. I screwed up my order the other day and got Butterscotch Bacco instead. Got it sitting uncapped in my heated ultrasonic cleaner now. I'll give it a shot tomorrow. Long ago I tried a sample but did not care for it. The sample was clear. This bottle is very dark so maybe the sample I got was screwed up. Who knows I may like it better although that's hard to imagine. I have been vaping more and more tobacco flavors lately so we'll see.
Much appreciated my friend..I take your advice with these to heart, and will modify likewise when I get. Like yourself, I'm vaping mainly Bocco stuff with a nice coffee vape in the AM..I'm down to about 6 flavors I care to vape anymore...
Thanks for the link yiddle, hadn't seen those. I did finally get a 510 to ego from gv awhile back and for a bit that solved the issue I was having with the threads on my gripper, but now off and on I still have issues with it. Gonna either have to find someone who can put a new thread part into it, or just get something else that's similar and keep this for a back up.
I bought 3 of these and love them so far. Would like to see a bottom coil version sometime but one thing thats great - THEY DO NOT LEAK!!! ever! i actually keep mine on its side most of the time - no leaks.
Wondering how long the heads are lasting for others before a burnout taste begins?
DJ I get two to as much as eight fills before I rinse the wicks and do a dry burn. No need to take the head off or rethread the wicks. Depends entirely on what juice you are vaping. Once cleaned start all over. Eventually the wick under the coils gets burned and degraded. You can either replace it then or even try pulling each wick slightly from each side of the coil to try and pull some fresh wick into the coil. This will make the legs uneven but no biggie. They are great.
The best gauge is as you said. When it starts tasting off give em a cleaning.
Cool - never tried the dry burn method for cleaning. I think these wicks are silica so I'm going to try. I usually use apple cider vinegar - it's good for cleaning anything.
Those are a pretty purple for sure. I had just found eGo-Q Series Embossed 1100mah with some cute designs and ordered one, but if its no good after it all arrives I will give the spinner a try . Thanks for the tip.
These are my favorite out of all I have purchased. The patience of changing the
heads are so worth the flavor and performance. I hope GV keeps these well stocked.
I gotta share this... you would not believe the durability of this little gem!... I have dropped the above setup on a concrete floor 4 times in the last 2 days... NOT ONE CRACK, NOTHING STRIPPED, NOTHING LEAKING, STILL VAPES PERFECTLY!... I thought for sure when I dropped it the first time, it was a goner... couldn't be happier that I was WRONG!!
