Yeah I was gonna make a new thread regarding the differences between carts and cartomizers and dripping etc but you brought it up here so I guess I'll just ask my question here. I'm pretty confused when it comes to all that. Technically speaking, what's the difference as far as how it works between carts, cartomizers and dripping? Dripping is probably the one I know the least about.

It is simple.

Cartomizer = atomizer and cartridge in 1 piece.

Atomizer needs a cartridge that you fill.

The difference is this. The cartomizer will last FAR longer before you need to refill. The atty/cart combo you get maybe stronger hits initially... but for every day common use, I simply do not see how it is good. I would be frustrated vaping 24/7.

You will see as your kit likely comes with atomizers and cartridges as that is the most common kit. You will have to play with both and see what you prefer.

EDIT: No, you need an atomizer to drip. This is probably the biggest and best use of it. To drip, you need to buy a drip tip. Essentially this allows liquid to go directly to the atomizer. However, you only get a couple of hits and you have to put more drops in. So if driving, at work etc. not a good option at all. Sitting at home and wanting a strong hard hit? Yes.

Charger not listed? Where are you getting it from. I am sure any kit would come with a charger however...

yeah I'm sure it comes with a wall charger. How else would I charge it? lol. They seem like a bit of a startup company with the mediocre web page design so maybe they haven't put everything up yet. Their prices seemed great to me though so I'm willing to deal with it.

Bump, on my last post I posted the eGo 510 kit I bought. Is that a good kit, and will I need anything else? I bought a 25 ml sampler pack from them as well so I'm fine as far as juice goes. It's not listed but I assume they include a wall charger.

The kit you bought does not include a charger. Here is what your kit includes:

Black eGo kit contains

2x manual 650mah batteries
2x 510 atomizers
1x eGo cone
5x 510 cartridges

That's why it was cheaper than what other places charge. That site (which I've never heard of) has no real description of what you're buying, so I can't tell if it's a real eGo (by Joyetech) or a generic eGo. You will need a charger, though. They are $8 at cignot.com plus $5 shipping (eGo Fast charger that plugs into a computer USB port and takes about 3 hours to charge the battery). The site you ordered from has them for $5.95 but are sold out at this time.

Here are all the eGo kits from Arctic Vapor, some of which include the charger and some don't:

Ok, great. I can just get stronger hits with the cartomizer with a straw mod. I most people here seemed to prefer cartomizers and I wasn't sure what the benefits were other than less parts meaning less complexity. Longer lasting vaping without refilling is a definite plus to me so I'll be sure to pick up some extra cartomizers.

There are tons of threads here with posts about the differences between carts and cartos. Here's a current one you might find interesting to read:

There's no straw mod with cartomizers. No modifications are necessary or even possible with cartos.

So what, did they expect me to throw the batteries away after they were discharged? Haha crazy. I'll ask their tech support for confirmation.

No, they expected you to order a "full" kit, if you needed a charger. The kit you ordered is for someone who wants extra backup batteries or already has an eGo fast charger.

Best place to buy EGO unless a totally crazy sale is LiteCigUSA. $55 and free shipping over $75 and $2 if not. I have seen a billion different posts for other sites and there is always a catch... shipping, parts...not genuine JOYE - something.

AND another newb was tripped out today when she got hers in 2 days... same as i did... They cannot be beat for the kit.

Not true! You can drip into cartomizers. I've been using a drip tip attached to the mouth end of a cartomizer for the last two days, and I can drip right into the drip tip, the juice flows down into the cartomizer, and it's easy as heck. But I can taste a little more liquid in my mouth from the mouth end of the drip tip, so I usually take the drip tip off, directly drip about 10 to 14 drops into the filler (it's really quick if you widen the hole in the dropper bottle), put the drip tip back on (no mouth end caps to take off or put back on), and continue vaping. It's so dang easy and super fast that I don't know why I haven't been doing it this way for the last five weeks.

But if you don't use a drip tip on the cartomizer, it's just as quick and easy to drip right into the filler, after you remove the white mouth cap (which takes about a second, give or take 1/4 of a second).

Unless you want just the 1000mAh eGo battery and don't need all the starter kit items, like the cartridges, atomizers, recharger, etc. It's $24 at cignot.com and free shipping if orders are more than $59. Fast same-day shipping, great service, and the 1000mAh battery will last 53.8461538% longer before needing to be recharged.

I opted for cignot about three or four weeks ago and bought two 1000mAh batteries and two eGo fast chargers, because I didn't want the starter kit items and I wanted a much-longer-lasting battery plus a second battery -- with free shipping.

why is the vape stack better the roughstack has a user replaceable switch and a bigger battery

yeah a bigger inferior battery...runs on ultrafire 1200mAh 18350 batteries right?
those have a max drain rate of 1.8A

a standard 2.2Ω 510 atty has an amp draw of 1.61A...so that's close...choose to use a LR atty and thats 2.41A draw...you're overstressing the battery which will kill it...and you're experiencing "voltage sag"

meanwhile a device that'l run a 16340 instead you can use a high drain battery that has a max drain rate of 4.4A...more than enough for any atty you throw at it without any voltage sag...

Holy moly... Drozd knows more than i will ever know even if I live to be 184 years old... All I know is I could never "out puff' 2 standrard EGO 650 mah batteries. So no purpose to get bigger for me...even if it was better. Makes no difference.

Yup, there's definitely a LONG learning curve with this stuff. :)
