Hi all, I posted on here a while ago regarding the wife trying to quit. Anyways, you guys gave some excellent advice and I have another noob question. I wanted her to go with the KGO but she says she would feel uncomfortable with that because it is to big, she wants something closely resembling a cigarette in size. So can any of you recommend a kit that has the device the same or almost the same size as a cigarette? Also she smoke parliaments and only smokes about 8 -10 cigs a day more if we are having a few drinks but, normally 8 a day. Please let me know what kit I can but that I can order today and get her started. Thank you all very much...

Volts from Smokeless Image - for a cig size the best there is. I'd recommend getting a kit with two batts - and getting the 78mm which is still cig like, and nice and slim. They have a nice finish, different colors, last well - about 2 hours heavy vaping for me. Later if she changes her mind and wants a bigger batt she can get the Volt X2 and still use all the Volt stuff with it.
Oh, she might want to get the PCC charging case too - so if you are out having some drinks one batt is charging while she uses the other one.

While I have never tried it, the Volt definately has the most reccomendations of the cig sized kits, have also seen the Bloog, the Smoov, and the Halo G6 recommended. Make sure to get atleast 3-4 batteries for it though and a PCC just to insure that she stays charged up on the batteries. When ordering both the batteries and a PCC make sure which size battery the PCC supports, for example the PCC for the Halo Element only works with their mini battery, not the longer one.

We all went through the cigarette sized need to match a cigarette and we all got tired of being tied to a charger. The truth is that battery size = vaping time. Eventually, everyone moves to something in the 650mah to 1000mah range using the same atomizer/cartomizer on the end that they used on the small battery. That said, everyone has to try it to be convinced. My wife still hasn't moved to vaping except for places where she can't smoke. She's hung up on the fact that it doesn't taste exactly like a cigarette.

People know it's not a cigarette. A cigarette has a paper tube and emits smoke from the hot coal on the end. They will spot it every time for "not a cigarette" and ask you what it is. You can't fool smokers or non-smokers at all. :)

Maybe most here on this forum move up to larger PV’s, but we all have to remember that the regulars here are enthusiasts that do not really represent the average user. If I were to read a car enthusiast forum I’d get the impression that most people do significant modifications to their cars and have hydraulic lifts in their garage.

I don’t personally find a cigarette form factor as a transitional device. While being the enthusiast and gizmo freak that I am, I have purchased items like tanks, clearo’s and a Twist…I use my 78mm Volt every day and to be honest I reach for it at least as much as I do my larger PV’s.

If the only things available were those big honkin PV’s I never would have taken up vaping. I’m willing to guess that the majority of people that have successfully quit cigarettes via vaping have done so using a small e-cig and never purchased a larger or more advanced PV.

The smokeless image volt is one of the best mini's on the market. The 78mm battery will last 3-4 hours of moderate chain vaping. The cartos last a long time, can be refilled several times and don't burn as easily as others. The price is also very reasonable with 2 battery starter kits from $45. There is also a 15% off coupon to make it even cheaper. Smokeless image also has a customer service that is second to none.

Here is a video on the volt. It also talks about what you need to be successful, regardless of which company you use. You will also see the X2, which is an ego style battery ranging from 650mah - 1300mah. The x2 works with all the small battery accessories as well as ego products. This would enable her to use the minis and when she is ready, have a larger battery too.

Harplayr,

That is the best post I have read on this forum.

You nailed it right on the head. I love the car magazine comparison.

I hadn't really thought about the number of regular users vs casual users. Last I heard we were pushing 100,000 registered members with an average login of around 12k users typically. There's no way of telling how many people log on in a month's time (casual users). I'm sure there are many who sign up, get advice, buy a pv, absorb some knowledge, and drop out.

It would be interesting to see stats on what people buy and the numbers that are purchased for various device types and brands.

can you refill the VOLT cartridges with other liquids? how long would the cartridges last compared to the Joy cigarette model? I ask because a TON of my friends are asking me about these products now that they know I've kicked the smoking habit, but they don't want anything as big as an eGo-C.

You can refill them several times with any liquid you want. They even sell blanks. On average mine last about 20-30 fills using 70%pg 30%vg

The battery also lasts a lot longer than the joye

I have never figured out how to do that on my iPhone and iPad. I use taptalk and there is no button for it. That's the only reason I haven't given likes

I think that there are several surveys here on ECF, but you have to keep in mind that the results of such a survey are likely to be skewed due to the fact that the majority of participants are hobbyists. I know that there have been independent surveys and studies done, but I was unable to find the results using Google. Wells Fargo did a study recently and expects staggering growth in the industry for 2014 and expects it to quadruple by mid 2014. Elk Grove Citizen : Ara > Hot Topics

I do remember listening to an audio conference of top industry leaders discussing the buyout of Blu by big tobacco and they mentioned that the vast majority stick with the cigarette form factor, the second largest being the eGo class of PV and a very small percentage going with more advanced mods. I wish I could find it to repost, but I think it was in the general discussion thread about the buyout.
