Hi everyone,

:):) i am new to vaping and am excited and disappointed all in the same breath, i purchased the new subvod nano by kangartech, with big expectations and unfortunately they have all fallen short. The device rocks i dont doubt that, but vaping has been nothing but uncomfortable. i started with the ssocc 0.5ohm coil and couldnt hold a hit, it felt like the first cigarette i had ever smoked...(BURNING)...coughing and spluttering has been present through the whole process so far, i then went to a higher resistance in coil 1.5ohm and am still experiencing the same discomfort. (is this normal the coughing) it seems so harsh does nicotine content contribute to harshness throat burn, does tobacco flavoring contribute to harshness...????? SOS please someone tell me if this is normal or if there is some major part of the process that i am getting wrong..... i am waiting on new e-juice from MFS in the states and also some from House of Vape in Australia. 2 with nicotine and 2 without.... in case anybody is wondering the nic levels i am vaping at the moment are 24mg.... i just want to get on with it and enjoy the experience and am open to any advice which will help me along the way....also any sugestions on juice would be awesome.....

happy vaping peeps:evil::evil::evil::evil:

Welcome to ECF!

I don't have your devices, but lets try to figure this out with the help of fellow ECF members. Lets start with some basic questions.

What wattage were you vaping the 0.5ohm coil and 1.5ohm coils at?

Did you properly wet the coils, prep it, so that they were prepared to transfer juice? If you don't do that it could give you dry hits, and they will definitely burn. I've learned this from experience. Apply juice to the cotton wicking points on the outside of the coil 2x to 3X, and drop a few drops down the chimney... then after assembly and without applying any wattage from your device, inhale 4x to 5x to get the juice flowing...only then apply power.

Are you drawing enough air over the coil to draw in liquids?

Hi and welcome. Try reducing you nic and increasing the VG percentage of your juice to lessen throat hit. Frankly, you probably have the wrong gear. The Subvod is a subohm only kind of thing with the supplied coils. The good news is the Toptank that came with it is part of the Subtank family and is supposed to use the same coils. Switching to the 1 ohm coil, assuming it fits, will greatly reduce throat hit (and vapor production). Also, the Subvod battery is 510 threaded, so any 510 tank will fit on it. Replacing the tank with an Aspire Nautilus or a GS Air will also help get you into the +ohm range and reduce the power level.

Welcome Shane :)

24mg makes me cough just thinking about it !
Lower your nic (maybe some of the 0 nic you have will mix good with the 24 ? )
You can get some glycerine at a drug store and cut down what you have - may have to add a tiny bit of distilled water to thin it.

When you draw, don't hit it like you did a cigarette...use a slower draw.
Vaping is a different feeling than smoking and your throat needs to learn it.
