I am a 43-year-old mother of 4, and started smoking over 20 years ago. I quit during my 4 pregnancies (it was harder with each one!) but always started again, and I bet I literally quit smoking hundreds of times. Sometimes a day. Sometimes a month or two. But always the stress would hit (usually on the job) and I'd be buying a pack...just to have a couple...next thing you know I'd be smoking full-time again. I did patches, gum, wellbutrin, zyban, and chantix.

6 weeks ago I discovered the e-cig. Finally I am free! Free of all the worries and nastiness of my smoking habit...now I know I can vape when I want, and quit if I want...I am using low nicotine, no nicotine, or half-and-half depending on how long I'm vaping. I discreetly vape at my desk...when people ask me about it I tell them I quit smoking with this vaporizer, and everyone is happy for me!

I haven't had an analog in 6 weeks, and when I get an occasional craving, I just grab a glass of wine and some fresh juice and it passes in minutes.

This is the most amazing thing I have ever discovered!

Tina, I'm fairly new to the forum too but have been using the e-cig for around a year now. This forum has been invaluable to making my experience with these devices a good one. I've found that, for me, the only way I can get away from the analogs is to make sure that my vaping is consistent and pleasurable. The best (and CHEAPEST) way to do this is to draw on other people's knowledge and experience. It keeps the trial and error to a minimum.

Keep up the vaping, enjoy it, and don't be afraid to ask questions- you're basically guaranteed to find someone to help with almost anything here! Good luck!

Peoples' mileage will vary. I smoked on and off, mostly on, for the better part of 40 years. Quitting with e-cigs was easier for me than I ever dreamed possible. The process for me at first was exploratory and geared more towards getting over the hump at work in a non-smoking environment rather than quitting altogether. But about a week after I got my first e-cig kit I smoked my last analog. I never even think about them now.

Everyone's different though and their experience will differ. All I can say is that I hope your experience will continue to be as good or even better than mine. You're definitely in the right place whenever you feel you might need support or advice.

I had a 3-hour layover in the Atlanta airport yesterday...they have those super super nasty smoking rooms.

I stopped in a sports bar, ordered wine and a sandwich...and quietly vaped away for 2 hours....slowly and discreetly enough that it was clear to anyone watching that what I had was NOT a cigarette. Nobody bugged me and the employees were very curious and friendly!

Gotta love this thing!:D

I have yet to bring my ecig through airport security. Did they ask what it was there?

No! Nobody questioned me at all...not in security, not when I puffed it walking around the airport. I put my juice bottle out in the bin. I wouldn't do it in the plane thought...the VG makes too much vapor and might freak people out. Although a friend of mine "stealth vapes" IN THE PLANE with PG and blowing the vapor into her jacket :)
