So i quit smoking ciggs about 2 weeks ago, and switched to vaping only at the same time, but i started at 12 mg, and vaped 12 mg for a week and half and then i dropped to 6mg which im at right now, my question is about withdraws from the ciggs (nicotine and all) about the 4th day in i started feeling really down and kind of depressed, now i am allot better, but i don't think i ever got the physical withdraws from nicotine, even though i dropped down to 6mg in the matter of 2 weeks (i was a pack a day smoker for about 10 years) is it possible that not all people get withdraws or maybe experience them in the for of what i had, like a mild depression and overall weird feeling, i don't have insomnia, or anything like that, although i did have an episode of very shakiness and sweating at the store on the weekend, im just afraid that these withdraws might come at a later time :/ im hoping i went through the worst of it already, but as it stands right now, i wake up at noon, and can go till 6pm without even vaping. thx for your guys help, and sorry bout the grammar, im half eating right now and typing lol.

Everyone experiences withdraw differently. I myself am on day 37 after being a pack and a half a day (at the least) smoker. I started at 24mg and got random sweats and shaking episodes daily. I figured it was over nic-ing and dropped to 18mg. Maybe it was, maybe it was withdraw. Though the first week I had some really vivid dreams. I experienced that from the patch when I tried it so I chaulk that up to over nic-ing.

I'm down to 11mg as of a week ago and am only craving smokes out of habit. No withdraw symtoms as of now and I don't see any in the near future. My personal experience and yours will differ but in my opinion I wouldn't worry about it. The worst has past and look forward to higher sense of taste and smell (For better and worse).

Happy vaping!

Welcome. For me, the sweating and shakiness is more of a sugar drop, due to not eating. Or over-nic-ing.. Please up your liquid intake as ecigs tend to dry us out really quickly. But like XJaySC says, everyone is different. I would not worry too much either. I think the physical withdrawl is over by now. Its kinda like caffeine in that you can experience a headache, moodness, etc. but its gone in 2 days. However, some have withdrawl from some of the over 4000 chemicals contained in cigarettes. That may be a different story.

glad you found ecf....
:)

Typically or I will just say for me personally... I started with 24mg and enjoyed it but I've chained vape since I started and I found out that it would give me headaches and I swear I was getting some vivid nightmares (like when people use the patch to get off smoking). I found that 18mg is the sweet spot for me. Great vapor. Don't really get headaches at all from it. I just wouldn't have started low. Most people start high and go lower. If you feel depressed I don't know how serious it is but don't sit it out alone if you feel real down!

thx guys for the response!!! yea i know it was an accident starting with 12mg, but i got used to it, then i tried to tell my self to only smoke about 1.6 ml of 12mg a day, and that worked, then i said im not going to vape untill around 6pm, and i get up at noon, so that worked, and when i figured i could do that, i thought i might be able to go down to 6mg, so i did, i still don't vape till 5-6 hours after i get up, but now its 6mg, i do chain vape a little once i get started. but to the person that mentioned the sugar dropped, i was looking at my symptoms from what i experienced the other day, and low blood sugar kept coming up, but im pre diabetic, so i was kinda freaked and worrying, as far as water for that day, i didnt drink any until about 2-3 hours before it happened, but i drank allot of water, about 100 ounces in 30-40 minutes. i dont think it was due to eating,i ate about 4 hours prior to that. but it felt like i needed to eat, but once i sat in my car and cranked the ac, i started to calm down. i did go get food directly after but as i was waiting for pizza it slowly went away. again thx for the help so far!!!!!!

I smoked over 15 years, and have now been smoke free for 5. Much like Jmaw I started at 24Mg, but then jumped right down to 6MG, thinking I didn't need it... BAM bad headaches. 18MG is my sweet spot, I'll go 12 depending what it's in. As for the depression I felt like I had loss a part of my life (...!!!! dumb) I use to sit outside in the summer read a book, have a drink, and smoke a smoke. I would have one while I played a game of Madden...etc I wouldn't be able to do that again, Vapeing wouldn't be the same. It took me about two weeks to figure out that was bull, the brain is weird. On a side note two years ago a friend of mine was smoking a spirt yellow(my old brand) I asked him if I could have a hit, and sweet Jesus it tasted like crap. Like the worst think I had ever tasted, I have never had the desire again, and the smell of them has really start to bug me. Hang in there and keep on vaping

Sounds to me like you just over-nic-ed yourself. It happens to all of us at one time or another. It is just part of the learning of what your body needs to stay off the nic. Ecig nic is absorbed thru the mouth, nose and throat and too much can creep up on you. You will learn how to pace it depending on how your body reacts.

Try pacing yourself with the water too. Doesn't have to be water, if you prefer other liquids. the point is to stay hydrated for the same reason as above. Moisture is drawn from our body from the pg/vg in the ejuice. Just another thing to get used to.
Good job on reducing your nic level. I started at 18, found my sweet spot at 12mg and just stayed there. :)

So many times I've been to the loacl B&M and tried different flavors and got over-nic-ed. I think four fravors in a few hours is my limit. Too much intake. There's a learning curve to ecigs when you make the perm-switch. We've all done it and the people here at ECF will be there to help through each step.

Yeah same here. Don't have any local B&M, but I go to a lot of the ecig events. One of which is coming up Nov1-2 in Richmond. There it is too easy to over-nic. Vendors are practically throwing free-be's at you and when you meet new friends(and old ones too) from the forums we all just keep vaping and vaping.

thx alot guys, has anybody here gone down to 0 nic? if so what is your experience with that?

I don't personally use 0 nic, but there are plenty of members who do. They say it is the same to them as when it had nic in it. Most have weened themselves off nic but continue to enjoy the vaping part, so they still do it. Absolutely nothing wrong with that.
