Hi everyone!!! I’m new, so I definitely need help! I have had 3 or 4 devices now. None of them have helped me step away or even step down from what I smoke. Until I tried the JUUL that is! I have drastically cut down in the last 3 days and it is actually easy! What little bit of research I am understanding is I definitely need the nic salts. Now my fear is I will go broke buying pods. I have had a smok stik, a kangor of some sort and a smok beast(?). I know I am going to smoke a lot more during my transition period, but I would rather go with something with a tank that works for dtl inhalation and a 12mg nic salt juice. What do I need??? Thanks!

Sounds to me like you have all the hardware you need, for now. You should either look up "sub-ohm" salts (easy,) or get a small bottle of nicotine salt "base" and add it to other juices, which is somewhat more complicated and requires attention to details.

Hello @Eatlovevape, can you list your devices and or upload pictures of them please?

We would like to know what you have at your disposal, as if you have a variable wattage mod you can use different tanks and adjust the wattage to get a decent experience.

Also some folks use a mixture of freebase and salt Nicotine, freebase gives you more of a throat hit and salts are more quickly absorbed.

Then you get into PG (Propylene Glycol) and VG (Vegetable Glycerine) that make up the base of liquids or juices.

PG gives more of a throat hit, produces less visible vapour, is thinner / less viscous and carries flavours better. But some people have a sensitivity to it. Also too high a PG level with drop in sub ohm coils doesn't work out well, as it's so thin it leaks through the coil like it's a colander.

VG is much smoother on the throat, produces more visible vapour, it thick /viscous and doesn't carry flavours as well as PG. Unfortunately high of full VG liquids or juices don't necessarily work too well with drop in coils due to them being so thick, and if the liquid or juice is too thick the wicking in the coil is unable to wick effectively and then the coil ends up getting burnt out.

I just bought a Justfog minifit. Not a bad vape for 25 dollars. 360ma battery which lasts awhile and has refillable pods, so cheap to operate.

The best vape is the one you'll use.

Hope you enjoy it.

I agree.

If the tanks work to keep you on the path to quitting, use them. If you need the Juul, maybe not all the time, maybe just for really bad cravings, use it.

I know pods aren’t cheap, but neither are cigarettes or any of the other cessation products.

Once you get fully off the smokes and are confident you’ll stay that way, you’ll start to see the savings. And you can reinvest in cheaper-to-run devices. But you have to get quit and stay quit first.

Welcome to the friendly bunch....:)

The fact that Juul really seemed to work is telling me that you need a high strength nic salt to start with. Just get yourself some 36mg/ml salts and use it in your other devices....if you start to feel unwell take fewer puffs or change to a lower strength salt juice...

I use and 18mg/ml freebase juice and a 36mg/ml salt juice. I use the freebase in all my devices including in cloud chasing setups and the salts in my pods or high ohm MTL devices....stick to that and you'll be fine :)

If you're looking for something that has drop-in replacement coil head assemblies I might suggest the Aspire Tigon & it's replaceable coils. $10 for a five pack of coils any more does not seem too out of line price wise. I know from reading others that Aspire makes good quality products. The $25 or so listed by Element Vape isn't too bad for a decent tank either.

Please though consider at this point I do not use tanks but RDAs. I can still see the positives and negatives of tanks though. I've not used Microsoft Windows for over a decade or more now, but figure I could still manage a bit using it. It is the same in using tanks or not. :)

You might also want to look at some the shops listed below. I would speculate that a price range of $25 - $35 can find you a decent tank at these places.

Eciggity

Fast Tech ( In China, just recall to not order in February as that is China's official Holiday month. Delivery time can be one to four weeks depending on shipping.)
3FVape (See the Fast Tech info, same applies.)

Here's a list of alternative Fast Tech style sites that may have U.S. stores/ ware houses available. That'll cut down your shipping time and you might find a better deal from among the many different vendors.

Apologies, this forum eats the link above. You may want to look Underground in your Vaping pursuits though to find that link. Any search engine can lead you to it by using the phrase "list of Chinese Vape Websites/Fastech Alternatives".

Hope you find a good tank for yourself. :)

Welcome and glad you joined.
Might want to try to stick with the JUUL for awhile, most folks are getting their vaping legs (finding the best set up for them and getting to know the type of flavors they enjoy most), might want to wait the 6 months or so until you feel you are ready.
