I'll look into them, but like I said, I DO NOT like the look of box mods. I hate the looks and if I don't like it, I won't use it and I need to use it to get off these smokes.
I missed where you said you don't like the box mods i guess, well than as dennism suggested, joytech ego one, this is one of the best ego ( pen type ) vaporizer out there.

So it seems that, on this post, I did not state no box mod. So obviously I apologize for that. I also doubly apologize that it sounded so .....y. It wasn't meant that way, but reading it again, it seemed it.

I'm thinking I might compromise and get this. Thoughts?

Welcome @Shanda

The technology gets better every month. I'm sure there's something out there for you. It won't be from a brand store though. Most of the e-cigarette business is just greedy people selling bad products for too much money.

What have you tried?

Not any more. The FDA pretty much put the freeze on that. Anything created after August 8th that's radically new is pretty much verboten unless approved first.

Ideas about things can change - a year ago I moved back to Hawick in Scotland - it's a vaping town these days ( 2 vape shops in the main street ) First time I walked down the street and saw every other person sucking on what I now know to be a box mod...I remarked to my wife, "Wouldn't be seen dead with one of those stupid looking things!"...and lit my pipe.

I now have 10 box mods...

I've failed miserably in the past with vaping. I desperately want to lose the cancer sticks, but in the past didn't find a vape that satisfied
Failing is part of learning, we all are in different stages of vape satisfaction --hang in there, you have lots of company.
Could look at it this way, think of all the folks who have tried or not tried vaping, you are way ahead of many.

I do not have experience with this MOD; however, it seems a lot of people on here do enjoy their iStick products. I think it may well be a better investment since it more flexible than a pen style vape. Read a lot of the tips on here an you will be golden.

That is a lot of really great information. I'm just trying to figure out the setup I want. I'm a heavy smoker that is not into cloud chasing that needs to be able to carry extra charged batteries for hunting/camping trips (no access to electricity ). Thoughts? Someone in a shop is trying to talk me into a rx75w but I'm afraid that's for the younger cooler cloud chasers. Lol. I just want something that will quench my craving for a cigarette and that will last.

First you have to decide if a high battery or low use of battery vape is good for you (might want to concentrate on battery usage and calculate how many charged batteries you will need over a given time). Something like two mods (one for back up) and a spare battery a day.

That's tricky. I'm a heavy smoker (1.5 packs/day, but vaping is different than smoking). I do know that I vape heavily while driving. Not sure how long these batteries last before needing a charge. I'm not opposed to keeping several or more charged batteries at the ready. Especially for those hunting trips

Since last October when I comitted to vaping after a lifetime of smoking, I have to say that while I have found written information and advice very useful, I have still found that I had to experiment to find what actually worked for me.

The first good satisying rig I had was an iStick 30w ( still in use) with a Nautilus Mini - I liked it because it offered a (to me) great nic hit and produced about the same amount of vapour as my pipe did and the draw also was similar if I ran the attie full open. I ran it around 8 watts with a fairly high nic strength juice...and never suffered one craving. I feared however at the beginning that I might be left without a vape if the battery died on me when I was out and almost immediately got a duplicate outfit which I carried with me at all times although the 30w iStick ran a day and a half with me on a full charge.

I joined Forums, found out there were restrictions on vaping coming shortly, read about dripping atties providing a more flavoursome vape and a purer one, read about how squonkers were bomb proof and the way to go and how the whizz bag all singing all dancing sub ohm atties were THE FUTURE and the only way to go and that also if one posessed but one of these miracles one would only ever need low nic juice.

I experimented, I tried drippers and squonkers, I learned to build coils and wick the things, I bought a Triton 2 sub ohmer...and for me nothing worked as well as my original Nautis did! I went back to them but also acquired the el cheapo GS Air atties which I had discovered en passant and thought were great.

I still have my iSticks and use them daily but as they die I will replace them with Kanger 40w K Boxes which I have found to be tough, long lasting virtually bomb proof...and they come with replaceable 18650 batteries which last the day and a half on a full charge. As the modern trend is towards nuclear strength mods these 40w K boxes can be had quite cheaply now.

The point I am making is that you might have to experiment a bit to find what suits you personally - even if that means buying kit - it'll cost less than tobacco products and certainly less than silver mounted Peterson Pipes! I am also minded that when I switched to a pipe full time I tried 120 different pipe tobaccos before I went back to the St Bruno flake I started with!

Never grudge the price of experimentation, for it can lead to great satisfaction - try to sit back and enjoy the journey.

As I have said before, in my day I was a heavy smoker - 3 packs a day of unfiltered British Virginia cigarettes, for preference Senior Service and if I couldn't get them then Player's plain.

Vaping has worked for me. I offer the thought that I have found a Nauti Mini with 18 strength unflavoured home made juice to me tastes as like a Senior Service as I have ever found; the same juice in a GS Air is as near to a Player's as I'll find. I now have a large stock of coils for both atties...I'll not be changing kit in a hurry!

Hi Shanda,
I gave up the cigs about 5 months ago after wrestling with the idea for about a year and a half. I toyed around vaping while I still smoked then finally I said DAMN IT I can do this.
And you know the good news is that I really don't miss them.

What I found helpful is coming to the realization that when I started smoking cigarettes I switched from menthol to non-menthol, one brands to another until I found "MY BRAND" , well the same can be said for vaping. I'm still a newb but have tried probably 50 different juices and a dozen different setups and have now found a few of both that I favor.

The best advice I could give would be to tell you to be patient and don't give up. It will take some time and testing to find the your niche, but it does exist, and in the end it's well worth it.

Make it about the journey, not the destination.....good luck !

Well HELLO everyone! Sooooo, I said screw it and got the wimsec rx 2/3. It's brand new and can hold 2 OR 3 18650 batteries. I paired it with an aspire nautilus (took the advise of Falconeer)

I've not smoked a real cigarette since Sunday at 6pm. I've had 2 batteries in it since 4am Monday morning and I'm STILL at 20% left. I think I've found the sweet spot on air flow and wattage. If 2 batteries are holding up this good I'm set for hunting with the 3.

I've not had any cravings, moodiness, or hunger normally associated with quitting AND I'm already sleeping and breathing better and I'm coughing less (my coworker pointed that out).

I just wanted to say thank you, so very much, for the support and information you gave.

Falconeer, your story inspired me and made reminded me that sometimes you have to try new things out for myself because my result may not be the same as others.

THANK YOU to all of you!

Right On Shanda.

Such a Big Part of the entire e-Cigarette thing is finding a Set-Up/e-Liquid that one Likes and Gives them what they Need.

Sounds like you have Done just that.

It's not a good idea to run lithium-ion cells down to 20%. Recharge at about 3.6 volts for longest service life. Try the Battery University for further tips. Interesting place, will rid you of myths floating around the internet.
Also your batteries should be married, always charged/discharged together for life.
Can you add a third battery to the double setup you're currently using? IDK, contact the manufacturer or manual for instructions. Do use cases for tranporting charged cell..

Thanks for THAT info. Had no idea! I'll keep an eye on the voltage from here on out. I can add a 3rd battery if I want to. The batteries are married and in cases and have been since day 1. Thanks again for the info
