My 510 center pin did not screw into the Delrin insulator all of the way and it was recessed a bit and my KFL would not fire on it. I was hesitant to force it into the Delrin and strip some silver plating, so I sanded a mm or so from the top of the insulator and that fixed the problem for me. I only have an 18350 tube, but I recently similarly saw someone complaining about battery rattle on the 18490/18500 tube on the Anatolian FB group (he was a bit angry and sour and no one else acknowledged a problem including Barbaros). As you know, I was not enamored with the Anatolian (and I really wanted to like it) and I'm hesitant to buy more tubes and parts. I hope that you can find a solution. If you don't sub-ohm, you could try to put in a mechanical fuse to eliminate the battery rattle (like a Vape2Safe).
Yeah, that's something to think about. Unfortunately I DO Sub-Ohm with my drippers (usually .6 - .8 Ohms), so I don't know about a fuse...
I was able to get my Patriot to fire on the mod using the 510 conn, but could not get my Veritas or my Quasar to fire. It's weird because the Hybrid adapter works awesome. And I actually prefer the hybrid look, so I likely won't use the 510 top cap all that much anyway.
But you know how when something's new you want it to work right out of the box? With this, not so much...The battery tube is definitely too long, because you have to extend the center pin WAAAY out down to the last thread to get the battery to just barely stop rattling....
I am going to try sanding down the insulator a bit, as the delrin is too long and "blocks" the silver pin from poking through the top to make contact with my attys (sounds like same prob. you had)
Thanks for the tips, Firestorm!!
I just emailed Barbaros to see if he has any recommendations to resolve these issues. I told him I love the mod, I just want it to work properly...I was very nice about it (not like the guy in the FB group)....
